Margaret Jackson has had enough of Ricky's games. The boy has been leading her on since they were in diapers. It was past time she set out on her own and discovered just who she was outside of the small town of Fairplay, Texas.

Can an off and on romance ever be truly on? That is what Maggie has to figure out when once again the man she loves comes back around looking for fun again. However, this isn't just any other romance story. This author does an amazing job of wrapping real world issues into her storylines while still keeping the romance the central flow. Unfortunately, there are many people who deal with racism, racial bias and outright hostility in today's world and this book keeps the story entertaining while highlighting the issues that many of our society's citizens face on a daily basis. Many women also are victims of assault which again, the author seamlessly wrote into the story while keeping the flow going and still focusing on the romance. I honestly can't wait to see what this author comes up with next for us to read!

I enjoyed this romance with a bit of suspense thrown in. Maggie has been in love with Rick for too long. Just when she thinks that they might have a life together, he runs away. So, she decides to take control of things. Rick has come home. This time for good, but Maggie isn't even in town. Is he too late? He ran before when he felt that he was falling for Maggie. Why can't they keep it fun and light? Now, he realizes that Maggie is the one for him and he is going to have to prove to her that he is here to stay. No more running. While she is trying to start a new bakery in another town with her cousin, danger stalks them. Rick will not let anything happen to Maggie and would lay down his life to keep her safe.

A sweet and sassy second chance romance with plenty of drama. Maggie’s childhood crush is constantly in and out of her life. The last time he left she decided it was time to move on and focus on herself, no more waiting for him to pick her. Then he shows back up and this time he wants her back for good. But the obstacles trying to push them apart may just be what will bring them together. This is a definite page turner and not easy to put down.

This packs a lot in this story. Rick has finally grown up and has come back to get a second chance with Maggie. Only Maggie is at her cousin's ranch helping to start a bakery. This is a contemporary story that deals with real world issues happening today. It is very well written with the pacing fast enough to keep you engaged until the very end. Always a good thing when the good guys win.

Such a great second/third chance story.

Maggie and Rick have been on and off for years. He is finally back for good, only to find Maggie is not there. Rick tracks her down. Now the family where Maggie is at is under siege.

This story had a bunch of ups and downs and twists and turns. It was a great story and I can't wait to see where she goes next with this world.

Maggie has enough, she's waiting for Rick her whole life and now it's over. She will go visit her family and help her cousin to open bakery.
Rick knows his mistake and will do everything to fix it, even follow woman he loves.
First he needs all his luck to win her over and keep alive.
What a wonderful storyline, loved it.

Rick has treated Maggie pretty poorly over their history. When he returns after a year away, he finds Maggie gone. I love that she makes him work to get back in her good graces.

Maggie had a crush on Rick as far back as she could remember, and they had an on-off relationship for a long time. Every time she thought they might get serious though, Rick would run. Off to college, a new job in a different town, anything to avoid getting serious with her.

When Rick returns home for good, and to try and make it up to Maggie, he finds out he might be too late. Maggie has gone to stay with her cousin for a while to help her set up her new business, a franchise of Maggie's own.

When Rick finds out that his parents' friends are having problems with their herd of cattle, as a vet he offers to got and help out at their ranch, knowing full well that this is where Maggie is staying.

Great story, raising issues around racism and small mindedness. Of course a good old love story wrapped around the adventures.
