Shifter Moon #1

Captured by Wolves

Rate this book
A hacker witch with a price on her head, three wolf princes without a throne, and a destiny none of them expected.

Tonight’s the night. One last job and I am out of here. After years of being an indentured witch, hacking and stealing for the mob, I am done.

But I won’t be leaving empty handed…

I’ll be taking a large portion of my boss’ cash while also relieving him of my magical marker that’s he’s held over me for years. And I won’t be leaving alone apparently, because when I break into his secret dungeon, I discover a man in chains. He’s a tall, dark, and tragically wounded, and based on the security around him, he’s pretty valuable, so I take him too.

Imagine my surprise when he opens his eyes and shouts, but not in fear—he’s carrying on about how he’s found the one. I think he might be crazy because I think he might mean me.

I’d leave him behind if not for his eyes… they are full of deep pain and raise a longing within me like I’ve never known. I should be long gone, but abandoning him is not an option. Then his brothers arrive and I find that I am leaving, only now in the rear of a panel van with my hands tied behind my back.

Not exactly what I had planned.

I’m not supposed to be here, but they look at me like I am exactly what they ordered—their appetizer, dinner and dessert. All I wanted was my freedom. But there’s something about the three of them, something I can’t deny.
I never expected this. I never expected them.

Four stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐

This was such a good paranormal romance novella! It's the first in the Shifter Moon series by Fiona Starr.

Dana is a magic hacker. She's been "owned" by a man called Malovich for the past seven years. On the day she makes a run for her freedom, she finds a man chained up in Malovich's castle, Jason. Dana helps him escape and they run into his two brothers, Max and Noah. Immediately Jason knows she's their fated mate but Max and Noah take some convincing.

This was a clean romance so I hope the next in the series isn't! I can't wait to see sexy times between all of them! This story is really original- I've never read about someone using magic to hack into things. One thing I didn't like, however, is that Jason, Max, and Noah had a previous fated mate. That kinda ruins the whole fated mate thing for me, since Dana is basically a second choice and they all loved their previous mate.

I hope for more romance and steam in the next book!

safety:
no cheating/sharing

This was an interesting and exciting series opener. I really liked Dana - a hacker that used magic to get in and do her thing. Unfortunately, she did this because she was being blackmailed to do so. Enter our brothers searching for their queen. Jason, knew it was Dana but Max just couldn't believe him and was fairly stern and nasty to Dana. Noah was set in between the other two but was friendly and helpful to her. Now all this sounds like a rather simple read but don't believe it ;) Action, danger, betrayal and sizzling chemistry surround these characters and I am dying to know how things will continue to unfold. I should mention that this doesn't really have any smexy times but I can't see things staying that way for long ;P Bring on the next installment!

Good story concept, but for me the writing was stilted and too formal. There were some editing issues too.

Overall it felt like I was waiting for the characters to catch up. It was fairly predictable and the ending just confirmed what was already painfully obvious to the reader.

I’m just not invested in the story or characters enough to continue the series.

Dana had just one change to escape the evil mob boss who uses her witchcraft for his business.
She gets distracted when she not only found what she was looking for in his fault, but also Jason who is held captive there.

She decides to take him with her, but this brings her in the path of his brothers who wanted to do a rescue mission just that evening. They take her with them, but she looses her bag with her marker in it. With that the evil mob boss can track her and he does, bringing his men upon them. Making Max and Noah safe her.

And now she does everything to get her marker back, although going to another realm wasn't in her plans.

Really good starter this series, can't wait to read more about Dana and her men.

💜💕🏞 Very good surprise!

Dana watched the screens in front of her: the six men dressed in black moved through the bank building.

She ensured their safety thanks to her magical powers and incidentally opened doors for them one by one.

By the time all six men are in the bank vault, Dana blocks the door.
Nine months that she prepares her coup: she was going to be free and so rich...

-----------------

It took me a while to get into this intricate, mysterious, and action-packed fantasy story with some very successful characters.

Then, I was completely and abruptly thrown into an incredible fantasy story in which I absolutely wanted to know if the main character of Dana was going to make it.

I also loved the three male characters.

The second part of the book is excellent.
The cliff hanger ending is unbearable: I can't wait to find out what will happen next!
Looking forward to volume 2!

I recommend this suspenseful fantasy discovery.

Odd, disjointed

It's choppy, the pacing is weird, and we get absolutely nothing from it. No world building, no character development, a shaky plot that doesn't make sense. If they can't rule without a queen, how can the bad guys? If the clan that is supposed to be protecting their mage is bad, or at least connected to a bad guy, and they can send messages, why wouldn't they warn her? How come only 1 of the 3 can sense her? Are they not all wolves with super senses? How long has she had these powers? We form no connections with the characters. They form no connections with each other. Their previous mate seemed chosen, and they didn't seem close to her, yet 1 keeps mentioning her in his memories like she was more than just a path to the throne. The bad guys have a token that allows them complete power over her and they have her robbing banks? Not hacking governments? They could use her ability to force other countries to cave.

I really enjoyed this story. It ends on a cliffhanger and I can't wait to read the next book in this series. I couldn't put it down.

Dana is a hacker and a witch. She has been a prisoner and 'owned' by Malovich. She finally found a chance to escape them but as she was doing it, she discovers another prisoner. She knows that she can't leave him. She does not expect to meet others outside though. They take her along with the unconscious man. Max and Noah were going to break their brother, Jason out from Malovich so they were shocked to see him coming out unconscious. Jason needs some time to heal but it's hard on the Earth realm. Max, Noah, and Jason are looking for their mate before they go back to their realm and reclaim their kingdom. Will they find their mate? Is it Dana?

I truly wanted to enjoy this book. Unfortunately, I found myself quite confused by the narrative. The story seemed to be weighed down by excessive internal dialogue, leaving little room for meaningful interaction between the characters. Additionally, I felt like the backstory was repeatedly presented in various ways throughout the pages, making it somewhat repetitive.

What I wished for was more genuine communication among the characters, rather than constantly delving into their inner thoughts. While I acknowledge that this style of storytelling might appeal to some readers, it didn't quite align with my preferences. Despite my desire for the book to be enjoyable, I have to give it a rating of 2 stars. While the premise was intriguing, the execution left much to be desired. I wanted to love it, but it fell short for me.

Dana's Escape . . .

Dana is a magic hacker who is caught by a mob boss named Malovich. She trades her marker to give him ownership of her services and finds herself trapped with working for him for the past seven years. When she is finally ready to grab her freedom, she steals what is in the vault, along with her marker, and prepares to run. But she finds a wounded man chained up by Malovich. Dana helps Jason, a wolf shifter, escape but his two brothers, Max and Noah, tie her up and take her with them. Jason knows she is their fated mate. Will Max and Noah figure it out?

With the non-stop action, adventure, suspense, and a heroine who doesn’t know when to quit, you have all the criteria for an amazing read! Grab your copy and enjoy their adventures as the series begins.

This was a good paranormal romance novella and the first book in the series. I loved the idea of a hacker being claimed by wolf shifters with magic who are seeking their fated mate, also as a side note there is comedy. And this story did not disappoint at all. You get the hacker, who saved one of the wolves while making her great escape from the person that “owned” her for the last 7 years. While said wolves are waiting for the right moment to save their brother. It just so happened that when she made a run for it, she chose to run right toward the waiting wolves.

So, yes overall this was an amazingly well-written story that I could not put down and I cannot wait for the next part of it.

disjointed mess. At one point one of the brothers thinks how Dana was cool under attack - BUT the attack didn't happen for like 6 more chapters. They've been searching 7 years? No, they've been absent and searching 100 years? The Roarkes, the clans.... the world building was messy and clunky. And dana has no back story, she lives on earth but there are wolves, yet the brothers come from a different dimension??? so are there other witches? and there has to be fae, and their magic can be bought or stolen? How was it used to keep Jason prisoner?

and I'm supposed to believe that the guy who is constantly stuffing his face with cheeseburgers is one of the H's and Dana in a later book will hook up with pickle breath guy???? yuk.

I really liked the storyline in the book but it is a huge cliffhanger so be prepared it you don’t like them. Dana is escaping from where she has been held captive for 7 years and comes across another captive. With her margin and the help of fae magic she is able to escapes with Jason. But she drops her marker which is what she needs to be truly free. What she did t realize was that Jason’s brothers Max and Noah were there to rescue Jason so they capture her. They have to go back to their realm to save their people and Jason claims that Dana is their one. That’s where it ends as they enter their realm.

Dana is a witch that has abilities to hack electronics with her magic. She's trapped with a criminal that has her marker. When the opportunity comes to run, she goes to get her marker and then run only she discovers a man, Jason a wolf shifter, chained to the floor, beaten and fae magic funneled to him to keep him there. She helps him escape but is captured by his brothers, Max and Noah. Now she discovers she's their mate, but Max isn't convinced.
This book ends with a cliffhanger, but it's story has me caught in its trap. I can't wait to read more.

"I keep looking at Dana, unable to stop smiling. I found her, and she got me here, and she stopped the pain and now we can go home."

This had a potential to be more in depth with it's content and plotline.
The gist of the plotline of paranormal, fae, thrill and romance was there, however it felt too quick for the story to even grow and it quickly ended.

If it was explored more and there was more pages of chapters, it would have more room to be amazing.

Dana was caught stealing from the mob but instead of killing her, she convinced him to take her marker and work for him. With her magic she would hack into systems and help them steal. But one night she locked 6 of the men in the bank vault and stole her marker and whatever was in the safe and took the man chained to the wall. His brothers took him and Dana but she was tied up but lost the backpack. Max got the marker back but sent it to his world. They got in a portal and went back. Good book.

Hacker Witch 5 stars. - Very good world-building! Dana was trying to escape the clutches of the mafia when she discovered Jason. She decided to take him with her but no good deed goes unpunished. That’s when friendly Noah and grumpy Max took her away from her mission to escape. The book was non-stop action. There is no steam scene in this installment of the story but the plot is more than enough to keep you reading. Can’t wait to see what the Queen does! This is a good start to this series. Dana almost gets away from the gang that has held her and made her work for them. Instead she finds a man who has been tortured and held prisoner and she helps him escape. You find out a bit of what is going on and you know the second book is going to be good. You know that the enemy has done something to hide her from her mates now we need to find out how and how to fix it. Cannot wait to read the next book. I would recommend this book.

This book has a different spin starting off. The heroine is trapped and helping the bad guys because of a marker she gave their leader years ago when she was a teen. In an attempt to free herself, she stumbled across a wolf in one of the cells. She frees him and runs off with him towards safety but can they get to safety? Or will they keep coming after them. Oh and there’s more to that wolf she saved than meets the eye when she meets his brothers.

This book started GOOD and ended even better! It's a little cliffhangery (is that a word? lol), but thank goodness book 2 is coming in the next 2 weeks because I can't wait to see where our sweet Dana and her boys go from here.

Dana is a magical witch, Max, Jason, and Noah are wolves without a kingdom looking for their queen. Their paths collide and off they go on what I can only hope with be the most epic of stories.

Must read, don't wait!.

Dana is an indentured witch hacker who has been stealing for the mob but she is done and wants her freedom back. Just as she was about to get out she finds a chained up Jason a wolf shifter and he escapes with her. I loved the way the author brought Dana, Jason, and his two brothers together and they realized she was their fated mate. Captured By Wolves is the first book in the Shifter Moon series and I look forward to reading the rest of the series. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

Interesting start to a series....
This had a good start, it does end on a cliffhanger. This story was different than your normal shifter read and I am intrigued to see what happens. There was a lot of action and some steam. I am enjoying the characters and the differences between the personalities. I am looking forward to what comes in this story as I enjoyed this one and want to see what happens next!.

This was a great series opener. It was an entertaining quick read which had action, mystery and fated mates. I loved that this sets us up for what is to come. And, I loved the characters we meet here. Dana has an interesting power, and she is most definitely resourceful and smart. Jason, Noah and Max are all so different and I like that each one has their own pace for getting to know Dana. This book flowed quickly but it was a page-turner. I cannot wait for what's next.

Great series starter
I really liked the premise of this series. Three wolf shifters from another realm looking for their queen in the human world. Max, Jason, and Noah have been searching for close to a century. For Jason, who is rescued by Dana, it's insta-love and recognition. Not so much for his brothers. There is plenty of action, tension, and conflict to make this a great start to the series.

I really liked this book! It was a novella, so it was an easy read, and I got through it really fast. The storyline had me hooked in, and I flew through it.

I can tell that Max is going o take a while to get used to the idea, but I really like Jason so far! And Noah is so sweet… I will definitely be reading the next book!

*EDIT*

Well…. I don’t think the next book is out yet, so nevermind. I guess I won’t be reading the next book.

Dana's three fated Princes

Fabulous story with wonderful characters who will enchant readers from beginning to enticing cliff hanger ending. I absolutely loved this book and would thoroughly recommend it. Dana just wants to escape after seven years of indentured service and that possibility is happening but while she is going she finds a prisoner who she can't leave behind even when he becomes unconscious. Following these characters should intrigue readers.

Great bones

I think the story has great bones. The worlds, lore, and supernatural systems all see very unique and interesting.

That said this book was a long150ish page. The over explaining and dragging on regarding the same repeated events and topics got old very quickly. At one point during a particularly long rambling I just skipped until I saw a character speaking again and SURPRISE I missed nothing.
