Review: 4.5 stars! 😍
I blame Ivy Knox for my slight addiction to reading spicy romance about colorful men with horns 😅❤️
Alien romance is truly special: when two unique humanoid species must set aside their otherworldly differences and learn from each other, and then end up falling in love.
Her Alien Neighbor is about Vanessa, a woman on her late thirties who is constantly struggling in life with her career and also love life. She has a traumatic experience in the past in her small town, and so she avoids it at any costs. Not wanting to remember any of it. That is, until her late aunt passes away and she must return to her home-town. To top it off, her aunt leaves her house, which is in dire need of repairs, to Vanessa.
Vanessa now has no choice but repair the house as soon as possible so she can sell it and get the hell out of there. However an stubborn yet strong-willed neighbour, Axil, who lives next door seems to want to do everything in his path to avoid her selling the house. To make matters more difficult he is incredibly hot and talks in a formal funny way, and she is attracted to him.
The romance between Axil and Vanessa has a bumpy funny start with lots bickering, and it quickly develops into a steamy romance. I love Axil's protective and caring side, specially after he finds out about her past. Another element of the story I found super intriguing was the Draxilio side of the Aliens, it reminds me in a way of the wolf-side of wolfshifters. I love the mates trope and was happy to see that this was included as well as the plus size rep 😍
I'll definitely have to get my hands on the next books of the Stranded on Earth series!

Her Alien Neighbor is book one in the Stranded on Earth sereis by Ivy Knox.
I tried to like this novel, but it was boring. It’s not bad nor is it written poorly I just couldn’t get into the story nor the characters.
When I read sci-fi romance I expect to be in space or have more alien aspects, but this story takes place on Earth and it just didn’t feel right. The treasure hunt plot sounded cool, but it got old fast and didn’t go anywhere. Our lead heroine Vanessa had a traumatic past and couldn’t have penetrative sex, but only two days after meeting her sexy neighbor she’s going at it. As for the romance we’re told they are crazy hawt for each other, but I didn’t feel any chemistry. I also couldn’t stand Vanessa.
Her Alien Neighbor was not the book for me. If the blurb intrigues you, I urge you to give it a shot. Just because it did not work for me does not mean it won’t for you.

Such a good read! I never expected to enjoy an alien romance so much (aliens freak me out, ok?), but I was so pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this book…and also really surprised by the depth of the content. That’s not to say that every book needs some form of emotional depth to be enjoyable, but this one did such a beautiful job of illustrating trauma/trauma responses. Feel free to DM me if you have trigger warning questions, but I def recommend adding this PNR to your TBR!
Also highly recommend you read the author’s note at the end! It’s powerful and also gives more insight on the story, so I def enjoyed it.

Never thought I’d see the day where I was hoping to land an alien as my neighbor.
Her Alien Neighbor combined a small-town romance with an alien romance, and though the combination may not seem immediate to you, trust me, it works!
Our protagonists are Vanessa, a struggling actress living in L.A. who is forced to return home once she received the news that her beloved Aunt Franny is dead, and Axil, Aunt Franny’s incredibly sweet, hot and strange neighbor. Aunt Franny leaves Vanessa her home, and invents a treasure hunt to lead Vanessa to a stash of money that will pay for the renovations needed to sell, a ploy meant to force Vanessa to spend enough time in her old home to hopefully convince her to stay in spite of the trauma of her past. In the meantime, Axil, who was a close friend of Franny’s, is determined to sway Vanessa from trying to sell the home to some stranger. And as the two work together to solve the treasure hunt, they grow closer, though Vanessa soon realizes that there’s more to Axil and his brothers than meets the eye.
I had a great time reading this book! The added sci-fi element to the contemporary setting made the story that much more unique, and I appreciated the plus-sized rep through Vanessa. I liked that she's at that point in her life where she's not ashamed of her body, and I loved how much Axil was into that body. *wink wink* Vanessa and Axil's chemistry was undeniable since their first interaction. Watching their initial bickering turn to appreciation and then love was *chef's kiss* sublime. I wished we could have seen a bit more of them bickering before moving on to the steamier and sweeter side of their relationship, but I can't complain. The steam was great! I also love how Aunt Franny, who was present throughout the book through the letters she’d left behind for Vanessa to find, knew that if Vanessa ever met Axil, they would have found their match.
The book touches the topic of rape, and how this crime is often overlooked and minimized. My heart broke for Vanessa when we find out about her trauma and her humiliation for not being believed by the vast majority of people, and it broke again when we find out that her friend Sam was also a survivor of the same monster that had abused Vanessa in high school. I mean, after finding out the reason she detests her home town so much, can you blame Vanessa for never setting foot in it again? However, I loved how Axil handled things, and that is all I will say on the matter to avoid spoilers.
I’m very curious for the rest of the series. The book is a standalone, but there will be books starring each of the alien brothers and I’m so ready!
If you like plus-sized rep, small-town settings, smexy aliens, steamy love scenes, and happily ever afters, then I highly recommend you check out this series!

SCREAMING CRYING EXPLODING--OMG THIS BOOK!! EASILY a favorite read of 2022 for me!! I had that "this book was written for me" sensation since the minute the dragons were revealed. I mean, come on--an ALIEN DRAGON-SHIFTING BEARDED LOVE INTEREST?! It's everything I've ever wanted and I'm still reeling. Add to the mix a badass, body-and-sex-positive female MC? I am forever in love.
I have yet to read a book with better plus-size rep and I now find myself searching for comparable representation in other books because it was everything to me! Moreover, this author did a tremendous job handling the depiction of panic attacks and paranoia as a result of PTSD and severe anxiety disorder. Check trigger warnings before diving into this one, but do know that it is all handled respectfully!
I freaking adored that this story's plot centered around a heartfelt scavenger hunt Aunt Franny sent her niece on, to the point that I'm fully inspired to do the same for my descendants some day LOL. I fell SO hard for Vanessa and Axil's romance, obsessed over the smutty scenes, and completely invested in this found family. I cannot freaking WAIT for more installments in this series!

Vanessa is a 30 something yr old actress wanting to make it big in LA. She’s down on her luck when she gets a call from her sister that her beloved aunt has passed away. When Vanessa goes to her aunts house, she realizes that going back is bringing up all her past trauma. When she meets with the lawyer, she realizes that she is going to be stuck with a house she doesn’t want, in a place she doesn’t want to be in, and not only that but next to an obnoxious neighbor.
The kicker? Aunt Franny just so happens to leave Vanessa letters that send her on a treasure hunt, but she needs her neighbors help. Enter Axil!! My man AXIL!! He is an alien stuck on earth just trying to blend in and live a quiet life. These two get pretty close 😉 while trying to find the treasure that aunt Franny left.
I loved this book! I thought it was great that the FMC was older and still didn’t have her whole life planned out. She was vulnerable, raw, and so real. Her trauma really consumed so much of her life. To see her growth throughout the book was so great. I loved Axil! I enjoyed how he was so into Vanessa and how he was so patient with her!! I can’t wait to read the next book!!!

August 6, 2023Maybe I’ll try this again in the future but this book just read so much like a crappy hallmark-esque “enemies to lovers” plot line, complete with requiring the 2 parties to follow clues from a deceased person they both loved. Not for me.

Vanessa’s trying her best to work on her dream of becoming an actress but is not having the best of days. Not only is she rejected for yet another role due to her size, but she also gets some really bad news about her Aunt. I loved Vanessa for accepting and loving herself exactly as she is. Even more, I admired her strength to deal with everything that happened in her past. She’s one amazing, strong, brave and compassionate woman and I absolutely adored her!
Axilssanai is not like the other men. In fact, he’s not human at all but he’s one of the best males I’ve encountered on and off page. Axil is absolutely magnificent - big, strong, honorable, confident, thoughtful, caring, chivalrous and fiercely protective. Even more, when he goes all shy and sweet, it just melts my heart. Yes, he might be a bit arrogant and rude at times, but there’s nothing I’d change about him. I absolutely adored every single thing about this spectacular dragon.
Everything that happened between Vanessa and Axil was amazing! They didn’t get off on the right foot and both were quite stubborn. When Vanessa went back to her hometown and learned she’s inherited her Aunt’s house, she’s determined to sell it as soon as possible and get back to her life in L.A. And Axil is as equally determined to stop her. Which leads to quite the fun neighborly feud. And when a treasure hunt forces them to work together and get to know one another, sparks start to fly. Vanessa and Axil were so perfect for each other and I loved how well they fit together. Their chemistry was amazing and I loved their banters and teasing. And I absolutely adored Axil for giving Vanessa the time she needed to feel comfortable and safe with him. Even more, I loved that he was always there for her when Vanessa needed to face her past. He’s a male who won’t allow anyone to hurt her ever again without facing swift and violent draxilio justice. And when Vanessa finally felt she could trust Axil and they gave in to their undeniable attraction, the passionate moments they shared were off-the-charts hot! There’s just something so irresistibly hot when Axil goes all “mine” and “good girl”! 🥵 I couldn’t get enough of either of them! And after everything both went through, they more than deserved to find happiness and love with each other.
In addition, the storyline was phenomenal! I loved Aunt Franny - that old lady loved Vanessa so much and knew exactly what she was doing. Even more, I really loved all the Draxilios - I loved their brotherly banters, how curious they were about the world around them and how eager they were to learn and understand others. I’m super excited to read more about the podlings in the future books. Moreover, the story deals with some difficult topics and shows the courage and strength needed to face, overcome and heal from trauma.
Overall, the story is a remarkable start of the series! It’s filled with suspense, treasure hunting, drama, danger, humor, action, twists, blazing hot romance and spectacular characters.
I’ve loved every story Ivy Knox has written so far, but Her Alien Neighbor is definitely my favorite one! I absolutely loved it!

This is an incredible start to a new alien romance series. I LOVED reading Axil and Vanessa’s story and was completely hooked from the start. I can’t wait to read more of this series and I guarantee you will love it. The characters are funny, witty, sarcastic but Vanessa and another character have gone through a traumatic experience, so do read the trigger warnings. There’s fated mates, a treasure hunt, a fresh start, steamy scenes and more with a happily ever after ending.
When Vanessa’s aunt Franny passes away she has to return home from LA where she is desperately trying to make a go of her acting career. She hates being home as she had a traumatic experience on prom night. When she finds out she’s been left Franny’s house, she can’t believe it and plans on selling asap. The house is in need of repairs though and in order to find the money Franny left, she has to do a treasure hunt. There’s a catch though, she must complete it with Axil, her new next door neighbour. When she first meets him she thinks he’s a jerk to be honest. He lives with his three brothers and they are all aliens. They get close and things start getting steamy but Vanessa cannot go all the way. Axil tells her he will go at her pace and is gentle and loving towards her. Unfortunately she soon runs into her abuser and goes pretty much catatonic for a little while, Axil is there to bring her back and when he finds out why this happened he’s furious. Axil is convinced Vanessa is his mate and due to his lack of experience he doesn’t realise that you need to talk to the other person before proclaiming them “Mine”. When Vanessa’s aunt Franny passes away she has to return home from LA where she is desperately trying to make a go of her acting career. She hates being home as she had a traumatic experience on prom night. When she finds out she’s been left Franny’s house, she can’t believe it and plans on selling asap. The house is in need of repairs though and in order to find the money Franny left, she has to do a treasure hunt. There’s a catch though, she must complete it with Axil, her new next door neighbour. When she first meets him she thinks he’s a jerk to be honest. He lives with his three brothers and they are all aliens. They get close and things start getting steamy but Vanessa cannot go all the way. Axil tells her he will go at her pace and is gentle and loving towards her. Unfortunately she soon runs into her abuser and goes pretty much catatonic for a little while, Axil is there to bring her back and when he finds out why this happened he’s furious. Axil is convinced Vanessa is his mate and due to his lack of experience he doesn’t realise that you need to talk to the other person before proclaiming them “Mine”. This book was amazing and I loved all the characters and how they all came together when there Aunty Franny passed away and took them all on an adventure to find the time to let go and find love. Vanessa Bradford is an actress and work as a bartender to help pay bills in between jobs and hoping one day to hit it big and when her agent rings to tell her she didn’t get the part because she is big and curvy breaks heart once again and she gets a call from her sister Willa about her favorite aunt died. Now she has returned home after her aunt Franny pass away for the funeral but after everything that happened to her there she thought she would never return. Now at the Will reading Vanessa was left the house and car and Willa was left trinkets that have no value she thinks at first. Now at the house she meets her aunts neighbor Axilssanai (Axil) Monroe who adored her aunt and would do anything for her and they did. But meeting the niece she talked about so fondly isn’t the woman standing before him yelling at him to keep it down so she can get some sleep even if he wonders why it’s in the middle of the day. She is sexy and feisty and he wants to get to know her better but she tells him she is only staying to fix up the place to sell and go back to LA. But Axil doesn’t want her to sell the Lady Franny’s house and he will do everything he can to stop it. Vanessa finds a letter from her aunt telling her there is money to fix the house at the end of the adventure she wants her to go on and find the 5 clues she has hidden around the house and that Axil can help her with what she needs. This is a brilliant book and there is so much more to this story there is drama, action, suspense, conflict, resolution, adventure, hurt, pain, justice are just a few things going on in this book and yes it’s a must read.

This story might have blown my mind! A darker plot than I usually read - though a lot of alien romance touch on dark subject matter. I did enjoy reading this story despite the darkside of the story plot, beyond this is a beautiful love story between Axil and Vanessa. It's incredibly well written and handle with bravery by the author as the theme are tackle in any book, but they are portray well without the story.
I'm in love with the cast of characters, even Aunt Franny who we never meet but has such an huge presence in the story. Though I don't blame her one bit for making friends with the hot alien lads next door. The two povs in the story are from Axil and Vanessa, who had a great chemistry from their first disastrous meeting. I found Vanessa a dynamic character with complex emotions and affect to the trauma she's endured. Axil what a cheeky, naughty boy with a protective heart of gold and skilled hands - both for crafting and loving.
The ending left me hungry for more stories - can't wait to read Sam and Milo. I loved the antagonist getting what they were due. Sometimes I feel the baddies get off to lightly. It is a satisfying ending when you close the last page, knowing the guy got the girl with a happy ever after, and the antagonist got their just desserts dole out.

Axil and Vanessa’s story was so unexpected! After meeting the podlings on Oluura, it was really fun watching these podlings fitting in on Earth. Aunt Fanny was a living, breathing, character even though she had passed. Axil was an old fashioned gentleman in the best possible way, and it was fun watching him, and his brothers, mostly fit in, but always just miss the mark. I fell in love with these characters, and I want to know more about what happened after their escape pods landed on Earth. Axil was super sexy and had so many layers! He dropped that gentleman’s deference with his clothes! Yeowza! Super steamy!
Vanessa was such a poignant character. Watching her, and Sam, handle the ongoing trauma of Trevor’s attacks and lack of justice was heartbreaking. Vanessa’s happiness meant even more knowing what she survived to get there. Ivy’s handling of this subject was sensitive and knowing. Thank you for sharing your personal trauma with us, so we could see it from a survivor’s perspective. I could not read this book fast enough! I look forward to more books in this series!

What a fantastic story, I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. Vanessa Bradford left her town after graduation to attend college and then Hollywood to get her dream job as an actress, she only had big jobs and television commercials and she was becoming more and more unhappy, then her aunt Franny died and she had to return home for the funeral.
Vanessa learns that she has inherited her aunts house and a whole load of fun with her neighbour Axil Monroe and his brothers next door starts. Axil is attracted to her and discovers that she is his mate but he is not as he seems. There are trigger points in this story so be cautious if you are affected by what the author warns about. There is a happily ever after but this is only the beginning of the series, it looks like a series it will be enjoyable to the very end.

I absolutely loved this! I’d been crossing my fingers and waiting to see if we’d ever hear more about the Draxilio podlings on Earth after hearing about them in Stealing His Mate and I wasn’t disappointed at all!
This was a quick easy read and I finished it in a few hours. Despite the dark subject matter, it still had plenty of warm fuzzy vibes that I find a constant in Ivy’s writing.
Axil was an absolute sweetie, if slightly naive about women haha, but he was so determined to be there for Vanessa that it made up for his fumbles. Vanessa was an interesting character. The way she tackled her negative thoughts was incredibly refreshing and I was proud of her character growth when faced with her trauma.
I honestly cannot wait to read the next books in this series! I think Ivy said we find out more about Luka and Harper next but I’m dying to read Sam and Mylo’s story too!!

This was a fun, charming alien romance. Axil had a good mix of complete softie and devoted mate. Vanessa is a complex character. She is dealing with unresolved trauma and grief and I found her compelling.
I loved the whole aliens on earth storyline and the supporting characters were fun. Actually I'd quite like to meet Aunt Franny in heaven. She is a hoot.
Ivy Knox dealt with some huge themes in this book (check the trigger warnings) with compassion. What I loved was the completely realistic responses. For too long this is how society responds sometimes, and many women (be it relevant to body image or reporting assaults only to be shut down or convinced not to take action) will likely find this relatable.
The fact its woven into an alien romance with a vigilante mate makes it a bonus.

Vanessa comes back home when her Aunt Franny dies. She's left her home, but is sent on a treasure hunt to find money to fix the house up. Her Aunt Franny's very hunky neighbor, Axil, helps Vanessa with her hunt, in hopes of convincing her not to sell it. As the hunt continues, the two get closer snd Vanessa soon realizes that Axil isn't all that he seems.
I absolutely love reading sci-fi romances from Ivy Knox. I always get a great story, that is fun, exciting and steamy. This story was no exception and I fell in love with Vanessa and Axil. He is so sweet and everything you'd ever want in a man 😍
This is a fairly quick read and it felt like it went by even faster. I became so invested in the story that it was over almost too quickly! I can't wait to see what is in store next!

Vanessa is having a rough time in LA. She’s a 37 year old struggling plus sized actress who lives on pasta, she just found out the guy she’s been seeing has a girlfriend, and her favorite aunt just died. She flies back to the east coast for the memorial service. Surprise! Aunt Franny left Vanessa her house which has a group of brothers living next door. But one of them, Axil, is the bane of Vanessa’s existence. He makes ungodly noises with his furniture making job, he made the real estate agent practically run for the hills, and he’s hot which is infuriating.

Vanessa is such a great character and one I connected with strongly from the very beginning. She ran away to LA as soon as she could with the hopes of becoming a famous actress and also to escape a horrible crime and the town which helped cover it up. My heart broke for her and what she went through but I admired her for loving her body as it is and for not letting the bad old thoughts win.
Axil? Oh Axil. He is gruff at first but the more we read about him, the more we see how soft, caring, kind, protective and gooey he is. He is very patient with Vanessa and makes sure he is gentle with her and her trauma. There’s such a cute scene where he brings her a peanut butter cup because he doesn’t know what else to do.
The two eventually start a fling and poor Vanessa gets the shock of a lifetime when she crawls into Axil’s bed to find his skin blue, covered in scales, and horns on his head. Surprise (again!) Axil and his brothers are really alien dragon shifters.
I loved this book from beginning to end and I can’t wait to read future books in this series. Plus I absolutely plan to read more books from her backlist!

Ivy Knox is an outstanding writer who delivers a book that you will read again and again! Thank you for making this into a series Ivy! This is the perfect shifter read…Vanessa returns home at the death of her Aunt Franny. She is left the house that is in disrepair but left hidden cash with clues through letters written by Aunt Franny. It was unbelievably creative the way that the letters gave you some back story to help with understanding some insights to the cantankerous Aunt Franny. Her aunt’s neighbors turn out to be Draxilios from the Planet Sufo. It appears as thought Aunt Franny is playing matchmaker from the beyond. I adored this read and wish I could give it ten stars. Can’t wait for the next book.❤️❤️❤️❤️.

This is my first book by Ivy Knox and it did not disappoint! I’ve been a sci-fi romance fan for a while now, but I’ve never read a small town alien romance and I have never wanted to live next to a blue alien with horns more!
I absolutely loved Axil and Vanessa! I liked their growth throughout the story. The aspect of her past trauma affecting her current life is not something you read about everyday and I very much appreciate the difference. Gives us just a little slice of reality because sadly these things do happen. Now I need to know what happens with Sam and Mylo and VERY MUCH HOPE they get their own story too! Zev and Kyan too!

Amazing! This book is intense! It talks about trauma and how different people take it differently. It talks of how neglected the victims are and how they end up being the bad guys and that still happens. I loved how the topic was treated and with there being a villan that could be punished. Trevor gots what he was getting! Still there is Room for another villan to rise and I can't wait what the officer Will do in the future. Vanessa is such a human and relatable character, She feels real! Axil is great! Not perfect what makes him even better. We also get a tresure hunt and very funny moments to go with all the drama. I recomend this book. It really is something.

I really enjoyed this book. Great world building and I loved the characters- not only the main couple, but the brothers as well. Vanessa and Axil didn't have the best start, but the more time they spent together and working together just strengthened their bond. When they finally got together, they had great chemistry. I loved the treasure hunt- that was a very fun aspect of the story. Though there are also darker parts of the story as Vanessa has suffered trauma that is worked though. She felt like a very realistic, relatable character. The story also has anger, suspense, and action. A well written, well rounded read. 4 stars.
