An enticing thriller
When it comes to sci-fi novels, “Virus” is an absorbing story full of turns and twists that left me at the edge of my seat. The idea of a virus that haunts space is creepy but catchy. The author's writing style is very neat and descriptive; I felt immersed in the story from the beginning. I highly recommend it.

Waiting for the spaceship…
Swedish author Johan Fundin earned his PhD in physical chemistry from Uppsala University and has served as a scientist in high-tech facilities and laboratories across Europe, and as in clinical work in a major metropolitan hospital. He extends these experiences in his writing of novels – SCHIZOID, DISORDER, MR. MANIAC, SPECIES, and now VIRUS – a science fiction tinged medical thriller that addresses possibilities of that current menace – COVID 19. Who better to write a sci-fi thriller about the pandemic than an author who has been consistently on the clinical frontlines since the inception?!
Writing with technically focused and dramatically sound prose, Dr. Fundin delivers a novel that in some ways assuages the tenor of fear in which we live by placing the focus on science fiction and the manner in which creative imagination can alter perception without denigrating the realities of the pandemic. How he achieves this is suggested in his synopsis: ‘A new aggressive COVID-19 strain is wiping out Earth’s human population. On a night of thunder and lightning, a man-made spacecraft from the future crash lands in Lake Michigan. The astronauts are all dead.
