Peter Allen David, often abbreviated PAD, was an American writer of comic books, novels, television, films, and video games. His notable comic book work includes an award-winning 12-year run on The Incredible Hulk, as well as runs on Aquaman, Young Justice, SpyBoy, Supergirl, Fallen Angel, Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2099, Captain Marvel, and X-Factor. His Star Trek work included comic books and novels such as the New Frontier book series. His other novels included film adaptations, media tie-ins, and original works, such as the Apropos of Nothing and Knight Life series. His television work includes series such as Babylon 5, Young Justice, Ben 10: Alien Force and Nickelodeon's Space Cases, which he co-created with Bill Mumy. David often jokingly described his occupation as "Writer of Stuff", and he was noted for his prolific writing, characterized by its mingling of real-world issues with humor and references to popular culture, as well as elements of metafiction and self-reference. David earned multiple awards for his work, including a 1992 Eisner Award, a 1993 Wizard Fan Award, a 1996 Haxtur Award, a 2007 Julie Award and a 2011 GLAAD Media Award.
Another great read from Peter David who has become such a reliable writer and I’m more than happy to try anything with him attached. I this one similar to Hulk Omnibus vol 5 is a series of miniseries that flesh out the Maestro and his world which all kinda turn out the same. A big punch up with villains that double and triple cross each other. Don’t let that turn you off though, the self referential nature of David’s writing gives comic fans and further fans of his Hulk stories more than enough enjoyment from these issues.
A Hulk that has lost control and is going on a rampage would mean widespread DESTRUCTION. But a Hulk that has his mental faculties and is an experienced, ruthless strategist? That would mean widespread DOMINATION.
Ever since his first appearance in Future Imperfect where it is revealed after an atomic war Maestro Hulk killed all the superheroes, I've been a big fan of this speculative 'bad ending' character. It was the coolest thing ever to see that in his trophy room, Maestro not only has a collection of memorabilia from all the Marvel heroes he's killed... but he also happens to have SUPERMAN'S CAPE hanging up on display?? That's a story that we'd love to hear but will never get told.
The subsequent mini-series are really strong too. I may return and update my review once I do a re-read of the Maestro Hulk stuff. What an excellent collected edition.

A bit of double-dipping with some of the earlier Hulk paperbacks and omnibus editions, but there's no denying the high quality of the Peter David stories, especially the original Future Imperfect illustrated by the late George Perez. And it's nicely convenient to have all the Maestro stories collected together in a single volume.
If your a hulk fan, this is an absolute must have, the only real issue is the captain marvel comics aren’t very good and they are pretty slow and abominations 1-3 is meh but aside from those two things,it’s almost perfect
