Thank you Jeremie for allowing us a way to find our PEACE index and creative and effective ways to change that number as well.
Jeremie Kubicek superbly reclaims the meaning of peace and its importance and impact in all areas of one’s life, while uncovering the ripple effect our individual peace scores have on everyone and everything around us.
Peace has lost its place in the lives of humanity as a relevant word and been replaced by words like grind, hustle, drive, success, achievement, and many others that are wreaking havoc on each our individual peace and collectively drawing lines in the sand that create dis-ease and unrest for ourselves, family, business, teams, and our communities.
This incredibly simple and powerful tool has been designed to reclaim the word peace as a foundation from where we might build a new way, a new world, if not, at least for our small day to day world and those we love.
Organizational Leaders, Clergy, Business Professionals, Human Resource Departments, School Administrators, and you must read this if you desire ways to authentically connect with those you lead in ways that create a common language leading to vulnerable connections that impact the peace of those we steward in this life.
May you rediscover the foundational element of peace from which chaos was subdued so we might be here, fully present, fully alive whatever chaos this life may throw our way. Peace to you all!
The last few years have taken a toll on our society, globally. This book gives the reader a lift and encouragement, a way to rise above chaos by learning the art of maturing to a level where outside circumstances don't get to rule an individual person's level of peace.
Jeremie Kubicek gives the reader a straight-forward simple visual tool that allows someone to diagnose their level of peace and then do something about it so they no longer feel stuck or feel like their whole world is out of control.
This book is great for individuals, but would also be beneficial for a couple to read together or even a family with teens or college students. A work team or entire organization would see great value in reading this and then having a discussion around how each other is doing and find ways to be more empathetic in order to foster a greater work environment.
5 Stars for this gem of a book that has given me hope even in the midst of chaos.
I've had two impactful conversations this week alone based on reading The Peace Index book! One was a team member. The other was a family member. The Peace Index tool/book in both instances led to very eye-opening, self-awareness, moments that actually delivered real help.
That's the power of this book! It's not just a "read it & forget it" message, nor something that is simply theoretical/idealistic without the practically behind it. What Jeremie lays out helps the reader to both diagnose where areas of unrest (aka lack of peace) are impacting their everyday lives, but also to course correct & make the necessary adjustments so you can truly experience peace - even in the midst of chaos.
I'd highly recommend the book to anyone who is unsettled, anxious, overwhelmed, or stressed (is that all of us?). I'd also recommend it to team leaders looking for a practical tool/content that can help them lead their people better.
In Jeremie Kubick's "The Peace Index," readers are treated to a profound examination of global peace dynamics. Kubick's clear and concise writing, coupled with meticulous analysis, makes this book a compelling read for both experts and novices.
The strength of The Peace Index lies in the author's unbiased approach, presenting historical context, statistical analysis, and real-world examples to offer a balanced perspective. The book not only documents facts but serves as a guide for those eager to understand and contribute to the pursuit of peace.
Relevant and engaging, Kubick addresses contemporary issues, prompting readers to reflect on their role in fostering global harmony. "The Peace Index" is a masterpiece, providing a profound understanding of the intricate factors influencing peace in our world. It's a must-read for anyone passionate about global affairs and committed to creating a more peaceful future.
My doctor constantly reiterates that you can be doing all the right things--nutrition, exercise, hydration--but without peace, you will never experience optimal health. It's the missing piece of the puzzle for so many, and it's one thing that a pill or a personal trainer can't fix.
Kubicek recognizes this. He goes beyond philosophy and provides practical tools that can help you pinpoint which specific areas in your life that are causing unrest so that you can get back to a more peaceful balance.
I would consider myself an introspective, purposeful person, but this book helped me recognize the specific area that needed to focus on in order to regain peace after a big transition in my life.
This book would benefit any adult in any stage of life. It's not a one-time read; it's a tool that can be used continuously over time.
This is such a timely book. There is so much chaos going on in the world. From global events to political fighting to our own everyday situations, chaos tries to steel our peace.
In "The Peace Index" Jeremie has outlined a clear framework for the reader to understand which of the five key categories of Peace in the reader's life is being overwhelmed by the chaos. Then, being armed with that awareness, Jeremie gives the reader tools to manage their emotions so they can experience fulfillment even in the midst of any inevitable chaos.
I highly recommend this book to everyone. If you lead a team or organization, I recommend you buy a copy for each team member. Imaging a healthy team where everyone can manage their own emotions so you don't have to.
You must read this book! In this world of chaos, being able to look at your current situation and assess where you are in five areas of your life, you get the understanding of where you need to focus your energies to bring Peace back into your life. Jeremie's writing style is so easy to read and relatable, you won't want to put The Peace Index down until you finish reading it. This is a must-read book for everyone you love. It gives you a common language that you can use in all the relationships you have, work, home, school, and community, and you can use that language to help bring Peace in a chaotic world.
This book was a surprise discovery in the Audible "Included in Your Abo" section. I added it thinking it would be a socio-political analysis of the state of international affairs today and found myself in a transe-like state of self-introspection, delving more and more into self-centeredness and practised gratefulness. At a time where every coach, mentor and guru is screaming at you to find the strength in Your Individuality, to count on Only Yourself and to Grind and Grit and Go On, Kubicek wants you to share the load, recognise the things that make you stronger and harvest your wellbeing by being there for and giving back to all the things and people that nourish your peace index.
Simple, yet powerful. The concepts in this book literally caused me to move my family to a new state. Understanding what really drives you and how that, along with other factors, impacts your overall peace and well-being is a powerful insight. The Peace Index is a must-read for any leader in any circle: family, team, company, or community. As leaders encounter and apply the PI, there will be a strong ripple effect in every sphere of influence they inhabit. I cannot endorse this book highly enough! Do yourself a favor and buy it now, then buy a second one to give to someone you care about.
Was voluntold to watch a video presentation covering this book presented by the author and it was objectively offensive and out of touch with humanity. It aggressively asserted privilege while completely ignoring the struggle that people go through. If this book is anything like the presentation, I'd avoid it like the plague.
Jeremie does a deep dive on this amazing tool. Highly recommend for those interested in managing their emotions better and conceptualizing the age-old question - "how are you doing today"?
Review for Peace Index authored by Jeremie Kubicek, read in 2023 and 2024
This book is authored by a Wall Street Journal bestselling author, Jeremie Kubicek who is a leader and a co-founder of an international company that builds leaders. He uses a tool to help liberate people, unlock their potentials and maintain their peace.
The author elaborates how to use Peace Index to make your life better. We all want to improve, have more happiness, satisfaction and peace. However, the circumstances or changes can pull us down in a crazy world.
It incorporates five (5) important segments that help determine your Peace Index -- Purpose, People, Place, Personal Health and Provision. This book teaches us how to define, characterize and uplift or balance all or some of these that require a boost to help improve the Peace Index.
Before reading this book, my purpose of life felt dim as I am a PhD holder but not getting to pursue what I wanted, making me feel low and sometimes unpeaceful or less motivated in a chaotic situation or environment. This book helped me define, identify and uplift some weak segments and finally improve my Peace Index. It is a continuous work in progress. In his book, the author explains how to improve and maintain the peace index by
i) uplifting and maintaining the purpose of life
ii) improving and maintaining two-way relationship with our people
iii) ensuring a safe and comfortable home and workplace
iv) keeping the balance between mental, emotional, spiritual and physical health (not just either one, this book highlights the importance of all)
v) provision or resources requires to make our life complete and ensure our ability spend on improving the above 4 segments
At the end, the author speaks on how to maintain the peace within ourselves and perform daily lifestyle practices to ensure peace, while taking responsibilities, maintaining boundaries and conquering chaos in our lives. I truly love this book and would use it over and over again to maintain or improve the Peace Index numbers.
There's a system/metric there to measure one's satisfaction in different dimensions of life. I suppose if you weren't feeling super-balanced or fulfilled, it might help you diagnose that. I didn't find it super-helpful. (I'm pretty happy in all the areas the "index" mentions.)
I must confess, I'm not a big self-help book person in general. So I'm probably not the audience for this. If someone else finds it useful, that's great!
