For years, the Zodarks had plotted their revenge against the Republic. Spies had infiltrated their colonies and eventually found their seat of power—Earth, located in a previously unknown system.
A plan was hatched, a force made ready. Soon, the Zodarks would unveil a superweapon that was sure to tip the balance of power back in their favor.
Then the Zodarks learned of Murphy’s Law…and their plans were never the same.
When a Republic peacekeeping mission to the Tully system, Serpentis, turned into a battle to liberate the planet from a surprise invasion by the Pharaonis, the Screaming Eagles of the 101st Orbital Assault Division went into action.
Afterwards, they were an exhausted, beat-up force, looking forward to a hero’s welcome and some much-needed R&R. But as the RNS Emerald City dropped out of slip space above Earth, they found themselves in the middle of a Zodark invasion of their home world.
Could a commadore overcome her past demons of a similar battle and rally what remained of the Republic Navy?
Would the Zodarks’ new warship the Nefantar’s superweapon alter the course of humanity?
The Rise of the Republic saga continued to unravel the mystery of the Humtars and the origins of humanity. What mysteries awaited at Lab Site X?
You’ll love book eight of this incredible military science fiction thriller series because it will keep you on the edge of your seat.
You just never get enough of James Rosone & Miranda Watson. It doesn't matter what series they have authored, Rigged, The Monroe Doctrine, Rise of the Republic, etc. All are guaranteed to keep you on the edge of your seat and dreading the wait for the follow-up on episode. I rate them all 5 stars.
I have been binge reading this series for the last few days. I have noticed the style of writing has improved and that the author is now providing other POV even if it has to backtrack a bit to fit the timeline. I like that and many stories don’t do that and it makes things seem isolated even when they are supposed to be occurring concurrently. There are typos though and some inconsistencies, like three lungs versus four, it does not distract from the overall story.
I always have notices for James Rosone books but I missed an only a recommendation from Goodreads let me know I forget to read this.
Do I felt it was strange the Zoarks didn’t do any realigous human trees like they did in previous books not enough time are to mugh killing to get around to it.
Once again the authors detail in telling th e story from the point of view of the characters in their personal space and setting is a fantastic view on the small individual soldiers. It brings everything into focus in a real and personal way.
It's OK little slow and some spots but for the most part was a pretty good book There's seem to be a lot of side stories that kind of got boring but most of it was pretty exciting🤔
Another solid book from the authors, I really enjoyed the book and the characters. The pace was quick and exciting. Looking forward to the next book in the series and do yourself a favor and read this series.
This is another Outstanding Book in the Rise of the Republic Series. It s very hard to put down and an easy yo follow read. It will be a long wait for Book # 9 Into the Uncertain to come out.
This book is battle packed and full of action. At times I wanted to jump into the book and shoot a few Zodarks. The final books should be awesome of this is any indication.
What is war but the removal of opposition for the survival of ones own people or species. Leaving a trace or a single survivor of the enemy can lead to your annilation.
This was a excellent installment in the series. It seemed to be a little short , I read it a little quickly lol. But it's a good , fun read and an awesome series.
And another great book. Left us hanging...for a year...ugh...lots of action and great charactors....maybe one of their other storyline will come out with another book.
