Ritchie We met for the first time when I was 8 years old. I had just suffered profound loss and there was nothing beautiful or happy in my life. Then she came in and she did all those things for me. She made me feel special and happy. I saw nothing but beauty in her. But loss is a terrible thing to go through. It left me with deep hurting scars. I knew how to do nothing but push people away, so I did. I pushed her away and a part of me has always regretted it.
Alex He’s a boy filled with scars and I want nothing more than to help him. But he’s used to pushing people away. He does so to me countless times and yet I don’t want to give up on him. Until he succeeds and my love for him turns to hate. Now there’s a thin line between love and hate and with him, I’m standing on the edge of the line. It’s all in his hands which side I fall into. But I’ve always known where I wanted to be.
Reagents Protection Agency was founded by 5 former NAVY SEALS. Its mission is to help and protect people who can't turn to the police. These men are here to protect and serve. Used to looking for danger, they sure weren't looking for love. But love found them anyway. Question is, will danger take away the women they've come to love? Or will these hardened ex NAVY SEALS finally have their happily after?
Amber Ford loves writing short, page-turning romances that deliver twice the passion in half the minutes!
She loves penning super hot alpha men who are fiercely protective, have hearts of gold and will go to any lengths for the women they fall for. With a talent for crafting fast-paced, action-packed love stories with characters that stay in your heart, her books are high on heat, chemistry and excitement! And yes, she likes her men in uniform and military alphas are her jam.
When she's not weaving plots and making up hunks in her head, Amber loves spending time with her furry and human companions by a river in the mountains. Hot coffee and freshly baked muffins are her perfect way to start the day!
Alexandra and Ritchie meet under the worse conditions. Ritchie was placed in foster care after his mom, dad, and little sister all perish in a fire, he was only eight. His little ball of sunshine, as he calls her, Alex, is six and too much stimulation for him to handle. He is an introvert and this horrific tragedy made him pull in even more.
To survive Richie pushes everyone away. But, during the two years they were together she never took it personally. However, at sixteen when she was a scholarship kid at the same school his rich adoptive parents could afford to send him to he was a jerk. The last time she ever looked at or spoke to him was when she was a junior in high school. He knew she was going to be bullied and he walked away. No, more. Not anymore would she ever reach out to him, ever!
Now, here she is at, Reagents Protection Agency, asking for help, via Selena. Second to him, in her hacking skills. Although their philosophy is somewhat different, it turns out she is, Robin X. She collects ill gains, from those that attain them through illegal means, and gives them to children's charities. Although worthy, it is still highly illegal.
Here's the problem, someone is blackmailing her. They know, who she is. They plan on revealing it, too. If she doesn’t, comply. The author wrapped up the ending, a little too fast. What happens to the people that were after her? Otherwise, it's an okay story.
She hated him and there was no wonder. Richie Morgan had lost everything as a child , Alexandra Hale had been the only one to offer comfort and friendship but he had shunned her, first when he was eight years old and taken into care and again when she was eighteen and she had been bullied at school.......he stood by and did nothing. Fifteen years later and Alex was in trouble, she turned to The Reagents, a protection agency for people in danger who couldn't turn to the law. Richie had joined The Reagents when he left the military, he was still a loner, he wouldn't let himself get close to anyone and risk the pain of losing someone else............that is until Alexandra Hale stepped back into his life. Alex and Richie were both computer geeks, he had used his skills to assist the Reagents, Alex however had used hers to illegally hack bank accounts and redistribute the money, someone had discovered her identity and her life was in danger. Richie came to realise that he has always loved Alex and he wouldn't let her down again. This is a very short story that I enjoyed but I think that there was scope to develop it further, it has plenty of action and suspense and even though I guessed the plot quite early it didn't detract from the enjoyment. I received a free copy of this book and my review is voluntary
Alex and Ritchie have history but when Alex comes to the Reagents for help, that history gets muddled. I really enjoyed the caustic beginning of the relationship. Both had valid reasons for their animosity but soon sorted it out. I loved Ritchie who was alpha and protective but regretful of his past issues with her. This was well done and a great read! This was an ARC and this is my honest review.
This book was the perfect length for the time I had. This series is about former military that form a protection company for those that need it. It just so happens those that need it stay with there new boyfriend, etc. You can read them as standalones. I volunteered to read an advanced copy of this book.
Ritchie and Alex are an entertaining couple. Their first couple of encounters definitely show the drama with them. When they finally have a honest conversation things take a turn, let the real fun begin. This is another great read in this series by Amber Ford. You don't want to miss it.
Growing to alone or in foster isn't a walk in the park. Having always held himself alone, Ritchie has a hard time following his heart. Love it when finally Alex clears the air & they get their HEA! Exciting!
Short and steamy, perfect if you like to read a story in one evening! Two headstrong characters who light up a fire when they crash! Enjoy it so much. It was an ARC and the review is honest.
