Love bound her to three possessive fae men... but fate has other plans.
A happily ever after with my summer fae men was within our reach... until the Heart of the Mists tied me to one of the foreboding winter arch-lords.
I can't escape the connection between us. The enemy can speak from right within my soul.
I'm not willing to give up on my happiness so easily, but I can't let the realms descend into all-out war. I'll brave the uncertainties of the winter realm if that's what it takes to protect the men I love.
My chilly Unseelie arch-lord isn't quite what I expected, though. There's passion beneath his icy front... and also so much pain.
As the lines between ally and enemy start to blur, can I stop the clash of winter and summer before even more blood is shed?
*Bound to the Fae is a fantasy romance series featuring possessive shifters, dangerous fae politics, and a wounded heroine coming into her own. This 950-page set contains with the middle three books in the series—Royal Mate, Secrets of Winter, and Fated Crown—as well as two exclusive bonus scenes.*

I got two-thirds of the way through this and decided to give up. I started to get bored and lost interest in what was happening. Strangely, despite many plot developments happening, it also felt like nothing was going on. Also, there was surprisingly very little spice🌶️ for a romance involving a polyamorous group of five people.
I tried so hard to read this book, but for the first time ever, I had to create a DNF shelf—I’ve never dropped a book before, but I just couldn’t finish it. I got to book 6, and it was just… too draggy for me.
I’m really sad I couldn’t finish it, but maybe I’ll take a break and try again later in case it’s my mood and not the book.
I read each of these books as an advanced reader. My reviews are voluntary.
Royal Mate
Unputdownable. Yep, might be a new word (probably not, lol). If you have been reading along with the series (and if not, you should be, duh) you remember what happened to Talia at the end of the last book. Yep, soul-twined mate. Oops. He is an Unseelie arch-lord to boot. Neither Talia nor her men can figure out how a human could possibly have any kind of soul-twined mate, much less one with an Unseelie lord. It takes all of Talia's energy to keep him out of her head. Her men work tirelessly to find some way the bond can be broken. But then word comes from the Unseelie that they will invade the domains of the Seelie around the Heart if their lord is kept from his mate. Talia has no choice - she must go and meet Corwin in person, stay with him for 10 days, to show that it is her decision to remain with the Seelie. But will the Unseelie Lord and the bond let it be her decision? Or is it an inevitability that she stay in the Winter realm with her mate?
Lots to unwrap here. Why did the Heart twine together a human and an Unseelie? Is there more at work here than any of them can imagine? Is Talia the bridge that will bring peace to the Fae worlds? We don't get those answers yet. Stay tuned.
Secrets of Winter
Loved this installment of the Bound to the Fae series as Talia strives to strengthen her connection to the Winter Fae and Corwin while protecting her bond with Sylas and his cadre. Talia gets her first look at the Raven's curse and she and Corwin try to find a way for her to help his people like she does the Wolves. Meanwhile, she is also doing her best to broker some kind of lasting peace between the two realms. The arch-lords of the Winter realm are reluctant to reveal their secret to the Summer fae, but Talia points out that they have done themselves no good so far by attempting to take land on the other side of the border through force.
The fragile peace will be threatened by an attack and Talia's success at curing those who fall to the curse of the Winter realm will be sporadic. She is not even sure exactly what it is that sometimes works to reverse the symptoms. One thing that goes well is her growing feelings and trust for Corwin and he even has a proposal that may make it possible for her to keep all her men. But there are those that don't trust her or the fae of the Summer realm and they will do their best to tear her from her soul-twined mate.
Fated Crown
!#$$. But enough about the cliffhanger ending. A great addition to the series as Talia faces the fact that her brother may have lived through the attack that brought her to the fae world. It also seems that some of the winter fae arch-lords may be trying to get rid of her, but why? Could it be her growing popularity with the winter fae populace who are awed at her ability to reverse their curse? Or is it her influence with her soul-twined mate Corwin? Or her wanting to bond with three of the summer fae, including another arch-lord? Whatever it is it doesn't stop Talia from investigating the treatment of other humans brought to the fae world. But another danger lurks in the shadows and more secrets are about to be uncovered. X!$#$. Back to the cliffhanger ending. Grrrr.
Royal Mate It's been awhile since I read the first three books so I can’t remember why Talia and her three males haven’t formally become mates. It sounds like Sylas may need the blessing of the other two arch-lords. Would the soul-twining* with the Unseelie lord be negated? He didn’t seem thrilled with the idea of having to share Talia with other males.
Reading further I am definitely getting a Hades/Persephone vibe. I can envision Talia splitting her time between Summer and Winter realms. I can’t see either of the arch-lords abandoning their kingdoms. Not only that but the wolves and ravens have been enemies too long to coexist peacefully without the end of the war and it would still be iffy.
This occurred to me in the first books and I'm still curious: These fae have magic. Why can’t they fix Talia’s foot? Knock her out, re-break the bones and set them properly. My second question concerns Talia’s rounded ears. Sylas and his people were able to glamour her to appear as an entirely different person. Why can’t they put a spell on her to disguise that she’s a human? (Please don’t offer any excuses about her having to be true to herself, blah, blah, blah)
Okay, Corwin’s shown up right before Talia and Harper are about to discover what’s behind door #2. I can’t wait. He’s turning out to be quite the sympathetic character.
Fucking Summer arch-lord Celia. What the hell is she thinking? I wish Talia could pull out the big guns and refuse them her blood but they’d probably just lock her up and take it by force.
The bonus chapter gives more insight into Corwin’s feelings and his initial reaction to the soul-twining with Talia. It also offers a glimpse of hope that Talia might be the key to solving the Unseelie’s problem.
*Is it pronounced soul- "twin" or “twine"?
Secrets of Winter Talia and Corwin are attempting to discover if she can find a solution to the Unseelie's curse, although it’s so different from the Seelie curse that it doesn’t seem likely. The Summer wolves’ curse strikes all of them on the full moon. The Winter ravens' curse strikes individuals indiscriminately. I’ve forgotten, if I ever knew, what the Winter fae are hoping to accomplish by attacking the Summer fae. (The explanation is eventually forthcoming)
Here we go again. Chapter 18 - Talia: ”I do want to be a full participant here,” I go on. “I need to understand every part of your work as an arch-lord. And maybe there’s some other way I can help.” Is the U.S. President’s wife privy to everything he knows/does? How about the King of England’s spouse? Any other leaders’ significant others fully integrated into their administrations? Do the other soul-twined partners find this necessary? Talia is making a more than significant contribution to find a solution to the curse. Why does she need to butt into every detail of Corwin’s day? I seriously doubt that she will fill the vacancy should something happen that he could no longer lead.
Talia discovers how to cure the Unseelie’s curse but it's temporary and has to be re-administered.
Seems like the Unseelie arch-lords are even less enthused about accepting Talia than the Seelie. Corwin and Talia manage to complete the ceremony formalizing their bond despite interference.
Talia’s mates form an alliance that will permit them to share her without conflict.
Huge surprise ending for Talia.
Bonus Scene: ...if we’ll be sharing a home of sorts, he won’t have prior notifications of our comings and goings, of when he might encounter Talia’s other mates. It seems obvious that much like in college, Talia needs to put a sock or a necktie on the doorknob.
Fated Crown Much to some of the arch-lord’s disgust, members of the flocks and packs are beginning to look upon Talia as a savior.
The Winter fae have discovered that Talia’s brother Jamie didn’t die in the attack after all. Talia is now torn between wanting to return to the human realm to be with him or stay with the fae where her mates reside. The decision is not made lightly. One of the Winter fae was ready to snatch Jamie so he would already be easily accessible if it turned out he had the same unique healing abilities as Talia. This was prevented but I wondered what would keep him or others from returning since they knew where the brother could be found. He could easily be kidnapped and lodged in a hidden location.
August and Talia have crossed the Mists to check on Jamie. August reflects on how he had encouraged her to return to her human life. I don’t recall that but Whitt definitely did in book one.
Back to Talia’s foot. (I honestly don’t know why I can’t let this go) Since it seems that it can’t be fixed, couldn’t the fae either concoct a potion or whammy her with a spell to ease the pain?
As if she didn’t have enough on her plate, Talia starts lobbying for better treatment of the human servants and/or allowing them freedom if they’ve been coerced into service. You can imagine how well this is received by the majority of the fae.
The Murk are becoming bolder in their attacks. Three Winter fae arch-lords declare Talia’s residence built inside the border is in violation of their laws and must come down.
Problems no sooner seem to be ironing themselves out than Talia is confronted with yet another crisis.

I felt like this book series was supposed to be about Talia and the Wolves. It was even more evident when Corwin arrived to the picture because his name started with a C just like Callan who was written off and casted out super easy without any repercussions. Same with Erick who was never dealt with despite him being the main one who caused Talia’s entire family’s death.
The more I read this series the more it seemed like everything was too calculated and didn’t flow well. Not to mention that it made the story even longer. There were scenes that were so out of place that stood out too much to be overlooked or dismissed. Like when Cilus went to speak to Erick about the details of what led him to Talia in the first place. I already knew they were going to input the rat (murk) people in the next installment after that scene. It just baffles me how they all claim to love her and die for her but no one killed Erick they just let him off with a simple brawl, don’t do that again slap on the wrist, and let him and his torturing Cadre live a meet life still using Talia’s blood to cure them from their monthly period.
The scene where they all went to see their father. So unnecessary and it didn’t even answer any questions or added any significance to the story.
The scene where they went to speak to the pond thing. Another unnecessary trip and page fillers scene.
The scene where they went to speak to the all knowing seely old man who was so vague. Unnecessary trip and nothing gained from that. Even in later books these scenes were unnecessary it proved or solved nothing.
The scene where they went to speak to the old lady to break the heart bond. Another page filler scene they didn’t even use that information or used her services. They could’ve just write that off. Unless they’re going to use that at the end in book 9.
The way Corwin enters the book and then has this deep connection with Talia. It seemed so out of place. Like she could form a heart bond but none of her other mates could. Ugh
Also the author hinted at Harper having feelings for a man but they never show him or say who he is. It lead me to believe that the author was probably going to write in something that readers weren’t expecting but looks like decided to write in another character in later books.
The fact that all 4 men are okay with them sharing one girl and they don’t want to have other women it’s insane and unbelievable to me.
I probably could go on but I’m getting more upset. Oh and by the way Talia was stolen as a baby by the murks and then was enchanted by them and then they brought her back to her mom so the rats purposely led Erick to her to bring her to the realm.
Also she isn’t Corwin’s true heartbond soul oh and her initial kidnapper becomes her other lover. So she has 5 mates and they’re all okay with that again. Also the murks are painted as the underdogs and they deserve to be equals. Talia is supposed to be pregnant but loses the baby I think it was Corwin’s not sure and quite frankly who cares at this point the baby dies.
I haven’t finished the book series to know the actual ending but I’m guessing they all stay together in the castle thing they built. The end.

Book 4 in the series . Boy oh boy. Eva the author likes to throw in a few twists and turns in all her stories and in this story it’s a douzie . So far you see Talia with her three mates on the seelie side , Sylas and his men. Now Talia is shown that an unseelie Royal is sharing a tue mate bond. He’s not a wolf but a crow He’s Corwin, he’s not as dark as you can expect . How does Talia and Sylas ( wolf ) and his men take the idea with a Crow. I highly recommend this audio Book 5 in the series. Wow what can I say about this series. Eva Chase knows how to write heart gripping action full stories. This story picks up where book 4 ends. In this story Talia has a hard time in the Winter realm of the Fai The unsealie Fai put her through a hard trial, tests once Corwin brings her there , Corwin let’s it be known that Talia is his heart and highest choice. Corwin is a Raven Fae Talia doesn’t know if she can cure the sickness going through the winter realm . Talia is put through lots of tests , the winter Fae want her to fail. She still goes back to the summer Fae , to be with her Fae wolfs. Grab it and see can the different Fae learn to live with themselves and does Talia learn how to cure the sickness with the people that want to destroy her , only because she’s human. Book 6 Wow what can I say , Eva Chase does it again . This story will take you on a wild ride . The selie and unselie know that Talia can cure both realms . There are twists and turns in the story but a $exy scene also ,,,, everyone comes together. Talia gets a surprise finding out her brother is not dead. How will the Arc Lords twist that information to their benefit
Savannah Peachwood, Ryan West Performance was fantastic. They brought all the characters to life I highly recommend it
I’m really enjoying the Bound to the Fae series. It’s a paranormal romance that is extremely captivating. The transition from Wolves of Summer to Ravens of Winter was perfect. In Book 4: Royal Mate, Talia’s heart grows even bigger. The Winter realm seems magical, and perfect for reading during the colder months. I love this world and I’m excited to continue this series.
Book 5
Wow! I really enjoyed this installment of the series. I’m very much invested in the Bound to the Fae series by Eva Chase, so I’m very thankful that book 5 did not disappoint. I am not bored yet. Honestly, book 5 was very captivating. A page turner! It’s hard giving a review without spoiling it, but I’ll just share that Talia’s heart has managed to grow and so does her powers. She’s destined by the Heart to do great things for both the summer and winter realms. Also it seems like her past is not closed completely yet. Eva Chase gave a great cliffhanger at the end that makes you anticipate the next book but still closes out this one. I’m grateful for that type of writing. I cannot wait to see where this series goes and how it will end.
Book 6
This was a great installment. It did drag a bit and it’s not as good as books 4 & 5. But of course, in true Eva Chase fashion, she gave a great ending and cliffhanger to make you want to read more. We did get to a good solution in the end, so that was nice. It was good seeing both the summer and winter realms come together in the end. However, I will be taking a breaking from this series, but I’m up to reading book 7 next.
I enjoyed the first book a lot, watching Talia develop a relationship with Corwin and learning more about the Unseelie and their culture was really fun. However, the books got less interesting and more boring as the series went on. There's so much repetition in these books. Talia's day to day life. Talia curing someone of the curse. Talia having some romantic interlude with one of her lovers. (Or all of them at once) Talia going to visit the human servants in other domains. Talia going to More drama and bickering between the archlords. More power struggles. And also the constant fawning/simping over how special/brave/smart/amazing etc Talia is in every male POV was starting to grate on me. We get it. You can stop repeating it several times every other chapter. Please. Especially the last book just felt like reading the same events over and over with very little variation. I guess if you fill the same 6 events and repeat a dozen times you can fill a book with it. It's starting to lose my interest. Especially the whole petty power struggle with the archlords is just getting old.. Also there were so many unnecessary scenes that didn't serve anything to the plot? Like why? It feels like this book had like 10% plot and 90% filler and that ratio just isn't it...
"This may not be what I anticipated, but it is what I want."
"I shouldn't have to let them go. I didn't ask for this."
Imagine your miserable life finally changing for the better after a decade of hell, so much better than you could have ever hoped for. Then you find yourself with your world flipped upside down once more. Out of nowhere there is a connection that opens up deep inside of you, like nothing you have ever felt before, and you can't escape it.
This set was a little difficult for me to get through. I have never in my life DNF'd a book let alone a series and refused to begin now. For me it didn't quite stand up the same next to the first set of the series. I understand that the other part of the realm behaves much differently than wear the story originally begins and that it might be necessary for the FMC's character development. The new MMC is just so... FLAT. I understand that his personality is supposed to be stiff and guarded, but throughout this whole story, he is just over all flat as a whole character and his development is lackluster. His character and the weight of it in the story is the only reason I couldn't rate it 4 stars. The FMC is still fantastic though. Her growth just keeps progressing and I love it, other than that I didn't like this one as much as the first set. Onto the next set.
I enjoyed book #4 and rated it 4 stars, but 5 & 6 were sooooo boring.Tbh Wolves of Summer and Ravens of Winter should have been a combined 700-800 pages.
Did anything happen in this book after the initial Corwin drama? We learned nothing new. I can honestly only think of two relevant events in the last 600 pages. Why is Talia repeating the same thing over and over? Like how many times does she need to prove that she can cure the curse? We got it the first time! And what even is Talia? Why has it been 2000 pages and we still don't know why she has powers? And why has she barely improved in her magic?
Side note, this series is WAY too long for the amount and quality of spice. This is a why choose series. I don't need it to be like Den of Vipers spice level, but come on. Just overall flavorless in both plot and romance.
I probably won't continue with the rest of the series because it is dragging like no other (even though I'm kind of curious about the rat shifters because they're not common in fae romantasy). These books need an editor.
Talia and her men are back and of course things are crazy from the start. And this time a new character is added into their love loves, kind of. A mystery and secrets seem to be in play and a looming war between courts. It was full of danger, secrets, intrigue, hot men and Talia right in the middle of everything. Things are getting more and more complicated and Talia is in the middle as she seems to be the answer to solving some problems. And what would be revealed and discovered this time. And do not forget that the 2 fae realms are involved now so had to see what would happen between them this time. But it was entertaining to watch Talia maneuver her way through that she must face this time around. And the questions to be answered were good and kept me entertained too. Had to see what would happen this time. What would Talia do about her brother and those pesky fae.
TITLE: Ravens of Winter GENRE: Paranormal Romance AUTHOR: Eva Chase TROPE: PNR, Why Choose TYPE: Series (Bound to the Fae Books 4-6) POV: Multiple POV MY RATING: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ / 5
The Bound to the Fae series has picked up its pace with the second boxed set of books which includes Royal Mate, Secrets of Winter and Fated Crown. Talia's story continues to unwind while her relationships with Corwin, Sylas, August & Whitt. This second boxed set kept my interest throughout and in suspense with the cliffhanger at the end. Ravens of Winter was enjoyable, and I recommend the audiobook for this bundle of books. I look forward to seeing how the story continues in the final boxed set installment. I am giving a rating of 4 / 5 Stars.
Simultaniously a fantastic ridiculously incredible world, and also one that is easy to follow. There is low angst but high stakes with so many different aspects to the world to explore. Each book leaves you wanting to know what happens next. I would say that things do get mildly repetative with the healing journey that the fmc is on but I figure, its all to keep the focus on the surrounding developements. I feel like this series could have been a solid 5 stars had it been reduced down to the strongest bits and maybe made the series across 4 books or even 3 but there is a lot going on outside of the main issues and the world is beautiful to explore.
HOW does this have an average of 4 stars? Book 4 was good, there was actual plot development, but book 5 and 6 were nothing but whiplash from high highs to low lows with some lull in between. So many tropes that the plot didn’t need and the ‘twist’ at the end of book 6 is so tired I’m not bothering with Rats of Murk. I almost DNF at least 5 times reading this book and somehow pushed through. Even if you’re picking this up for smut and not so much the plot-don’t. There are a handful of scenes in this 800+ page installment, 0 for 2 IMO and not worth the time investment.
This three book series was amazing, though I do love the first one the most. I did love to see how brave and how much Talia evolved in this story, and I enjoyed the somewhat awkward side of Corwin, but I also felt heart warmed with his pain that he deals with about his mother and even after everything he cares for her so much. This three book series was definitely worth the read and I'm excited for what happens next!
I loved this book. We discover more of this universe which is very interesting. However, the only criticism I have is the dynamic change. I've got the feeling that there was a moment when it got a bit slower and I struggled a bit to go through a few chapters in the book. We are, once again left on a very interesting cliffhanger at the end of the novel and I cannot wait to read more of it.
4⭐️ - this is a collection comprised of three books, see individual books for detailed reviews.
Books included: Royal Mate Secrets of Winter Fated Crown
Talia is primarily with the winter ravens throughout these books, although she frequently goes back to the summer wolves as their curse is still active.
This is next 3 books in the series and we get to see more character development between Talia and all her men and how she effects the winter and summer curses. We still have many more questions that we will want answers to but will need to keep reading to discover them. I can't wait for more.
Same as the last three, but now with mating tropes & a bird man. Okay but all joking aside… I know these are spicy books but the plot is actually pretty captivating. They’re starting to tie in a lot of the things hinted at in the earlier editions and the cliffhangers at the end of each book actually have me excited to keep reading. Overall I liked this trilogy better than the first.
Eva Chase has gotten even better with this set of books
wow this was a good read. I feel like the character development and writing has gotten better with this set. I’m excited to open the next set. Some of it was cheesy and predictable but still exciting and a fun story all the same.
I absolutely adore Corwin. He learns to love and show the emotions he’s tried so hard to never show and it’s so sweet how he comes to realize that he is not better than her because she’s human but that he’s not deserving of her until he works for her love.
I’m at a loss! So many twist and turns that grip you and make you need and want more! And now that I’ve finished this box set I have no choice but go into the next! EC you do this to us!!! Making us want and need more of Talia and her men!!!
This part of the story encompassed my heart and held me tightly. There was so much to face and overcome for these fantastic people. It was faced with bravery and honor. I'm so proud of Talia and her loves.
I swear I read in the synopsis of the first box set that she was a witch, yet here we’re are at the end of the second box set and six books later and their hasn’t been any mention of witches, nor has anyone figured out exactly what she is…
This is an easy to read fantasy that i let float on my "currently reading" list until i finished it between other books over the course of several months. Which works for me as a mood reader. It's not that great of a book, but it's like a mediocre TV show you keep on because you want the noise.
