Khaya is definitely playing a dangerous game and is about to start wok kings of drama...I'm not sure if I would have done what Khaza did for my mom... that baby will be haunted for the rest of his life...
This series is gonna be lit. Them guys momma is gonna have to die. She want way outta line getting her son to kill two people. I know see Atlanta and New Orleans finna bleed red cause of her. U did good on yet another book and im looking forward to reading more of them. Sitting here patting my feet while sipping on Pepsi while eating popcorn while waiting on the next book to read
my biggest issue with this book was all the inconsistencies. first someone was described as vanilla, then they were chocolate. they gave each other fake names just to call each other by their real name on the next page. just things like that threw me off. also I find it weird Khaza went from being “evil”, “cold” and “heartless” to wanting to learn how to love in literally 3 minutes. there was no chance to see him “thaw out”, it was just instantaneous.
This book was straight 🔥, I didn’t want it to end. I can’t wait for the next installment so i can see what happened next. Great read with a very interesting storyline. Must Read!!!!
First let me say the book is good but the fact that the author didn't remember certain facts about certain characters frustrated me to no end. These authors need proof readers & editors or they need to get new one's if they already have one. #1: In chapter 6 Khaza said he was a Kappa man but in chapter 10 Ye first said he was an Omega then said he was a Kappa. #2: In chapter 6, Khaza described his mom with blue eyes & a chocolate complexion but in chapter 13 he described her with green eyes & a maple syrup complexion. #3: Khazeem said he was an Omega & described himself as a vanilla complexion with green eyes but in chapter 9 Nhairobe described him as a chocolate complexion with blue eyes & said he was a Kappa. #4: Khaza described himself having light brown eyes in chapter 6 with Khazeem mentioning that Khaza & Khay had chocolate complexions in chapter 7, yet Khaza mentioned in chapter 13 that he himself had green eyes & a maple syrup complexion much like their mother. #5: BJ mentioned in chapter 2 that Tasha was a nurse but in chapter 13, Tasha was the realtor who sold Khaza his warehouse. Things like this make me not even want to read yet I want to finish bc ive already started & it is a good read so far but its like c'mon. I usually don't leave reviews but I had to. I am looking forward to reading book 2 though...
There are way too many grammatical errors in this book, to the point I think the author confused herself, smh. In the beginning, it was stated that Khaza was the youngest of the brothers, then later on, it was written as if he was the oldest. There was also the assumption that he had an undergraduate degree only, but somewhere along the way, he mentioned he had a PhD. I'm still not sure if that was just sarcasm on his end.
He also went from being a cold-blooded killer to a man wanting a woman he knew for maybe a week, to teach him how to love her? A woman who couldn't drive her car to the mall without permission from her parents?! Chile, PLEASE! Nobody with a thick block of ice around their heart is going to let it thaw that quickly.
I'm looking forward to reading the next installment of this series because the ending left a lot to be told.
Couldn't expect nothing less then great story telling from miss jazzie. Let's just say this khaya been using her son for her own selfish reasons and I'm glad khaza is seeing her for what she is a an evil woman. It's definately going to be hell to pay now that her uncle was called.. great story telling with great friendships between the main characters. Miss jazzie is becoming my household fav author .♥️♥️♥️
This was my first read by this author... This was an okay read for me... There was so many things that drew away from the storyline itself... First there was so many characters with very original names... But the main problem is that there was a mix up of characters... Like the author was confused on who was who and who was the oldest, middle or youngest of the brothers... There was so much conflicting information that I felt like I kept trying to figure things out and because of that it distracted me as I continued to read trying to put things together... But the storyline does have some potential and I want to see how the author will get this storyline really going now with this cliffhanger... Okay first we have Yhental (Ye) one of the main Characters she is a beautiful 21 year old woman that is still a virgin and has very over protective parents and a brother... She still lives at home with her parents her mom Yhena and her dad Bakari... Her older brother's name is Bakari also... And she has a best friend named Nhairobe (Nay Nay)... Bakari is big in the streets and so in order to protect his daughters... He kind of shelters her... But he does want her to be able to enjoy her life... But Yhena the mom is just overboard and does not want Ye to do anything but stay at home... And Ye's brother Bakari jr (Mello) was also over the top sometimes... I mean there was times that he would cover for Ye but he always had someone watching his sister no matter what she did or where she went... Lucky for Ye she has an amazing best friend... Nay Nay is super outgoing and is always trying to get Ye to live her life... Then we have Khaza... His family is also in the streets... But his mother Khaya is the one running things with them... Khaza is the killer of the brothers... Then he has a brother named Khazeem (Zeem) he is more of the financial person and a brother named Khamakazee (Khay) that is married... Not quit sure what he does in the family business yet... But everyone has a part... Well they just made a move to New Orleans because their mom told then to go there to open up shop... But it looks like they may be stepping on some toes... In the mean time Ye and Nay Nay are out here parting and letting loose at one of their sororities parties. .. Only to meet some men that really attract them... of course Ye's brother is not to far behind... But with the help of Nay Nay Ye is able to slip through and go off with this man named Khaza... They are hitting it off really well... Ye is ready to give the one precious gift she has away... But when they get back to his place... Things go in the wrong direction quickly... This kind of breaks Ye a little bit and now is just over it all... Her best friend Nay Nay stayed back at the party and found herself caught in the web of Khazeem... They end up hooking up and they stayed together for days... Only for Nay Nay to get the call about her friend... Now she is in repair mode... In the meantime... Khaya is coming to town and barking orders at Khaza to start putting in some work down there... But this work may just be what really closes the door on a relationship... but the question is which door will he close... Especially now that he has done what he has done only to find out he just hurt the one person that he did not want to... How will they be able to get past this... And after all the work he just put in to get to where he is... And now because of his mom... He is caught in the middle of it all and he has no idea why... Well into part 2 to see how this will all play out...
I tried I really really tried because of all the good reviews I’m just continuing to read like maybe the good stuff would come later but no…Just was not my cup of tea. DNF at book 2. Honestly it just wasn’t consistent. Are they Kappas or Omegas? Are the eyes blue or green? Is he vanilla or chocolate? In addition to that these characters and the storyline was just not developed enough for me. I mean I get that as readers we can immerse ourselves in the characters world and everything doesn’t have to be explained some stuff we will believe just because the author tells us too… but this is every other page in this book…Like one character insists that he is unloveable basically but then next thing we know he a romanticist. Then Tasha was a CNA on one page and a realtor the next…and wtf is wrong with Khaya? I mean having a son kill his own father and we’re all just supposed to act like it’s nothing because the author said so?!? Naw I need an explanation to be able to understand/believe the foolishness.
Nhairobe is truly the type of friend every girl needs. I'm glad she didn't allow her lust for Bakari Jr to lead her to sleep with him. He's not the person for her and I think it would've put a strain on her and Yhental friendship. Khazeem is the better for for Nhairobe. Bakari Jr is a hoe but I think Muni is going to be the one too tame him. Yhental parents and brother kept her on a tight leash. I'm glad they loosen the reigns on her because she's actually a pretty level headed young lady. I don't know if her getting with Khaza will be a good thing though. Khaya have messed her son's up. Especially Khaza and I believe it is going to backfire on her and him. Khaza is smitten with Yhental but he has no social skills outside of his mother and brother's. Although I believe Yhental can teach him how to love and feel like a normal human being. What his mother has him do definitely will probably send Yhental running the other way because Khaya just started a war.
This read has me deep in thought. How and why would a parent have a child doing the things she has them doing? Ye, and Nay were best of friends. Nay had a life that Ye was just beginning to learn how to live. Her parents treated her like a fragile piece of glass, where Nay was able to be a free spirit. One really doesn't know what big B actually does, but Ye ma is got some secret I believe that has changed the families dynamic drastically. Khaza, khazeem, and Khamakazee were brothers that their parents trained them in all illegal things as well as being able to destroy anything in their path. Their mom was just evil, not realizing the mental damage she's doing to her boys. I can't wait to see how these things turn out. Good read🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
Yhental lived a very sheltered life so when she met Khaza in the club, she really didn't know what to do. Being still pure and quite naive, she felt rejected when he pushed her away. Bakari Jr was stepping into the big shoes of his dad falling for Nharobi was forbidden but Muni was fair game. They had already taken it there anyway. Kazeem was a challenge for Nharobi but they hit it off rather quickly. Khaya was a trip and really used her sons. At the end of this first novel in this series, the author left us with a gasp. I must keep reading to see what happens next! And editor was needed many grammatical errors but overall a great read.
Wait a doggone minute!!! IKYFL!!! What kind of cliffhanger was that? It had me like 😮 Its about to be a war and plenty of bloodshed bcuz Magnolia ain't nothing to play with. I can’t wait until the next book comes out. I really can't stand Mello he to cocky, and he act way to hard. Yhental parents was strict asf, but they had a reason to be strict with the life her father live. Once she found out Khaza is the one to shoot her dad he really gonna lose her. His mom just caused them to start a war against the Masons. I maybe wrong but I really got a feeling that Nay is Mello and Yhental sister. I can't wait to see how this plays out!
MANNN MISS JAZZIE A BEAST WHEN IT COMES TO THIS PEN GAME. I DON'T EVEN CARE ABOUT THE COUPLE OF ERRORS, THIS BOOK WAS ON FYE!!! WHAT KIND OF MONSTER IS KHAYA. I FEEL BAD FOR KHAZA CAUSE AIN'T NO COMING BACK FROM THIS FOR YHENTAL. IF SHE FINDS OUT SHE'D NEVER FORGIVE HIM, AND SHE WILL FIND OUT CAUSE MY BAE MAGNOLIA BOUT TO BE TAGGED IN. HE THE LEADER OF A BOAT LOAD OF CRAZY NICCAS. AIN'T NONE OF THEM GOT NO SCREWS TO BE LOOSE. I LIKE MELLO, I JUST KNEW HIM AND NAY WAS GONNA TAKE IT THERE BUT ION KNOW SINCE HE GOT MUNI AND SHE GOT KHAZEEM. I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THE OUTCOME OF THE CAUSE IT'S MOST DEFINITELY GONNA BE A WAR.💗💗
Boy.... now this is definitely one for the books..A Hood Boy sending a Virgin home..lol and that was funny. And then he upset like it was his heart that was broken. Now Nay sounds like shes Nobi's sister.... but something tells me she's really Ye's and Mello secret sister. That's why Mello knows how much money she has. Now Muno she not about to play with Mello "hoes" . Man that's some funny ish.. khaya.. she's about all the shit..i already know that she had their daddy killed to move up the food table and I'm thinking Big B was her next target.. not sure if it business or personal...But low and behold... here comes Magnolia again...part 2 me now please
Ye was about to be a college graduate at 21 years old, but her parents treated like she was 13. She was not allowed to hang out in the streets, parties or clubs. She was surrounded by security, her brother or father always lurking in the shadows. She finally was allowed to attend her sorority sisters party and she met a major player in Atlanta when he came to his cousins party in New Orleans. They became infatuated with each other. They both come from powerful families, however her new man Khaza has done the unthinkable and changed Ye’s life forever! A great read can’t wait to read part 2!
Lord hell mercy that cliffhanger 😬😬..Its about to be an earthquake/snowstorm/ hurricane all in on in New Orleans 😂😂...Magnolia 😬😬 oh hell..Damn I was just liking them brothers 🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️for the girls...Welp I hope whatever Khaya reason was hope she prepared for them for this war she started...Mello I don't like him and his crocky ways maybe Muni is what he needs...If Ye found out about Khaza kill her dad its a wrap for them!! I can't wait to see how all this gonna go down🤔🤔
5 Stars because I have been reading books by this Arthur for a few years now and I love every last one and when I'm done I'm looking for the next ... I tell everyone I know how good these books are and if you reading the review and have not read the book what you waiting on lol ... I'm done with part 1 on the the next and just found out these 2 are tied to a few different books with another title ... Nola Boss saved me and few others you will get it when you hear the characters names ... Happy Reading Y'all XOXO
This book was so everywhere. I literally was so confused at every point & turn. As a member of the sorority named in this book, there was so much wrong with everything mentioned related to Greek life. I couldn’t tell left from right, up from down, or in from out in this book.
There were some good spots but even then they were few and far between. This book had potential to be something good. Seems like it had the platform but lacked the plan…
This is inky book 1 and I’m hooked. Hrownomg super sheltered Yhemtal has never got a chance to do normal things her parents really kept her sheltered but now that she’s 21 she beginning to see she needs to stand her ground but she meets someone that she doesn’t yet know is as intrigued with her as she is with him. Let’s see if she can tame a monsta. Happy reading
Let me just say I was absolutely speechless at the end of this book. Yentel don’t deserve what’s coming and let’s just say a war is definitely stirring. Miss Jazzy why you had to to this I just love it my girl Nobby and my man Magnolia. I’m say this book is amazing and if you haven’t read her others do it now!
What in the entire fuck is up with Khaza them mommy? That bish is just evil and for no reason. So what was the point of her having her husband killed? Then turn around and have Ye's daddy killed? I got a feeling she will get her day.... Khaza finally found love and may have lost it too!!!!
Young love and secrets can cause pain to the ones we love. I feel for Yhental and Khaza. I feel like Yhental daddy is keeping secrets, just like Khaza mama, she's evil in real life. Nay is funny but a strong young woman and I like her with Khazeem. I have no idea what's going to happen between Mellow & Muni with this mess. Can't wait for part 2!
Decent plot. Names are terrible. Middle brother started out vanilla with freckles. Got to New Orleans and turned chocolate with blue eyes. Personalized licenses plates when connected to illegal activity??? Writer underestimated the importance of the tiny details
What in the world has Khaya got her son into? She's a master manipulator. Yhental deserves to be let out on her own but at a slow pace. Them streets ain't for everybody. Muni has BJ in a way nobody else could, but he has to grow up. Nay is a great friend she rides & helps when they think they don't need help.
The book was so good but the ending was crazy… I had a feeling it was that person but what was so personal for her though… Lord knows I need part 2 asap… I recommend this book to everyone to read
