A Heartwarming YA Romance by a talented new author
Hazel Pierce is happy in her small little world. She has good friends, a loving family, and she is surrounded by music. Life is comfortable and drama free until the high school quarterback asks her to teach him guitar on the same week that she finally lands a date with her summer crush.
Hazel fumbles her way through first dates, first kisses and her first football game. Along the way she realizes people aren’t always what they seem and her heart might lead her in unexpected directions.
I was given a free copy of this book by Voracious Readers in exchange for a honest book review. Thank you for a copy of the book!
Hazel is a junior in high school when she is asked by the popular jock Hayden to teach him guitar so that he can impress a girl. The rest of the book follows how their relationship develops as they navigate boys, best friends and bonfires!
The book is exactly what you would expect when you read the blurb! It’s so cute and written at an excellent pace! You find yourself smiling along as you read and it’s really enjoyable!
Definitely 5 stars for cuteness, fake dating and friends to lovers tropes! Would highly recommend!
A nice, easy read although I’m not sure I’d have read it if I’d known it was a love triangle.
There were things I didn’t like, such as the main character’s bizarre relationship with her best friend (kissing his cheek every five minutes) and generally just how oblivious she was, leading on both of the guys (who were both lovely).
The writing was average and there were typos, but nothing that detracted from the cute story. I got bored towards the end and during all the pumpkin stuff but overall I’d still recommend.
This book follows Hazel, a 16 year old girl with a passion for the arts. She is approached by Hayden, on of the jocks, who wants her to teach him to play the guitar so he can impress a girl he likes. Reluctantly, she agrees. In return he gives her advice that she uses and rushes her way through dates, first kisses and boyfriends. However, the problem soon comes when she realizes she’s catching feelings for him.
I’ve been reading this all day (yeah I read it in one day) and it was so good. I couldn’t get enough of them.
So if you need a recommendation for a good romance book, and you love a good Small Town Romance then I highly suggest you check this out.
