I'm a curvy, outgoing girl. Always have been, just like I’ve always had a soft spot for my childhood best friend. Callum, a bad boy with far too many tattoos, will start fights for me, protect me and is always there to make me smile.
Now we’re both studying marketing at the same university, he feels different and my secret crush quickly becomes full blown love. But it’s hard when you're friend zoned. Oh yeah, he's got a girlfriend too... racy Stacey with her alternative style and black lipstick.
Will he leave the dark side for a big ray of sunshine and turn our friendship into something truly amazing? Or am I doomed to be forever dating losers and never the one I want?
I’m a graphic artist by day and author by night, writing real, raw, racy romance. My book boyfriends are inked heroes who like fat, fun, and feisty women (sounds familiar).
My goal is to spread body positivity through my fat and fabulous curvy heroines with a good serving of British humour on the side (not forgetting an extra helping of alpha goodness).
On the very rare occasion I’m not working in my day job...or night job as a writer, I'll be living my best life in the heart of England with my other half, two wildlings (otherwise known as Veruca Salt and Mike Teavee), and a randy cavalier pup.
My serious book fetish travels with me in our tin cruiser as we roam the English countryside. You’ll usually find me in a field somewhere or curled up on the sofa with a coffee (wine), blanket and dog to keep me cozy, and a good steamy book to make me w—warm.
really sad with this book. there were no signs that cal liked her besides physical affection and he seemed clueless then all the sudden bam he loves her. also their first kiss was so rushed I missed it the first time I read it! also the I love you at the end was random as he just started exploring his feelings for her and I wasn't sure if it was romantic or not. not gonna read the rest of the series :(
Cute quick read, I actually read this in one sitting because i couldn’t put it down- smooth read and not too much going on- was it anything special/ not really but it was worth the read:)
I liked both mmcs and the “background” characters/ would’ve love for the story to be told by both characters but it was only the fmc side and pov we seen
I like this story and I am looking forward to the next book, cal and stephe relationship is really lovely in how he protects her but I wish Steph would learn her lesson and stop jumping into bed with the men straight away and then crying that they only want her for one thing

Honestly, I was SO excited to read a book about a curvy girl and her best friend and how they've secretly been in love with eachother for years.
Instead, I was irritated and disgusted by how this main character is written.
She is not a girls girl. Yes fine is she pines after her best friend who's already got a girlfriend. You can't choose who you love. BUT insulting and putting down the girl based on how she looks JUST because she's jealous is such a horrible way to be.
Whenever there's an argument, of course they have to get her chocolate bars in order for the main character to forgive her bestie, what else is a fat person good for? Honestly degrading.
The FMC does not have a strong sense of self. Yes you can have mental body issues, yes that is okay and very relatable. But people also have hobbies, and things they like. When having to introduce herself in front of a class and she says "My favorite things are... " and is thinking about cake but how she shouldn't say that and struggles to mention books and art as her hobbies while she's definitely into movies/books/art throughout the show is a disgrace.

Utter juvenile rubbish. Terribly written with no flow, just over dramatic and abrupt scenes. The heroine knows he has a gf but hero and her keep snuggling in bed or cuddling and holding hands as if he's single. It's also not very clear if the author wants to give her an insecurity or not because she's apparently too scared to draw attention to herself because of her size but yet her best friend is a boy, she makes friends with the queen bee, she goes out regularly and wears dresses, she has slept with multiple partners. So what is it? Is she hiding herself or not?! Anyways overall pathetic book - DNF and would not recommend
I thought I woudl enjoy this book, and there were parts that were cute and sweet between the FMC and MMC but overall it was just a lot of "other woman drama" and miscommunication and not something I really enjoyed reading. I thought I would look at the next books in the series but *infidelity* was listed as a Content Warning and that just isn't something I enjoy reading. So be warned before starting, this book just wasn't for me.
i literally never left a review before no matter how much i disliked or loved a book but this one really fk irritates me like wtffffff « you know that in your heart you’re married to me so don’t feel guilty about what we have »??????????????? honestly this made me so mad, please if you’re the writer and seeing this i hope you get cheated on and stop writing bye
This book was enjoyable at first but ultimately really unsatisfying to read. I saw that it’s a prequel, but it’s been my experience in the past that prequels are basically standalone romances, and that’s not the case here. And after going to look at the original series and the tags I can’t be bothered to read what happens later.
I wanted so much to like this, especially given it had a decent enough premise...but Truthfully if I could give this 0.05 stars then I would. it was just so lacking in so many different ways from the writing to the characters there just wasn't any saving grace. Which sucks given wanted this to be least half interesting.
I love this but I kinda hate Cal… I understand why she likes him but I cannot see it for all of these red flags girl 🚩 why not tell her why that guys an asshole?? I know it’s a prequel and I know that they’re young but I hope Cal has a dramatic character development in the next book or I’m afraid whilst he sounds hot and good, I’m gonna struggle to like him 🥲

I wanted to start this series from the very beginning and I am so glad I did! This is the second book of Annie's I've picked up and I haven't been left disappointed. In fact, I'm thirsty for more!
These two are a complete mess. It looks like they finally wound up together, but it didn't last. I don't understand why she didn't just avoid him, but it did make for some interesting situations.
adventurous emotional hopeful medium-paced Plot- or character-driven? A mix Strong character development? It's complicated Loveable characters? It's complicated Diverse cast of characters? Yes Flaws of characters a main focus? Yes
Steph and Cal. Best friends since they were 5. Steph is in love with Cal. Cal is in love with Steph but she doesn’t know. Cal is super protective and gets mad when someone calls her fat or when someone messes with her. Slow burn
