Avenging Skulls

Willow

My father dreamt of the day he could get us out of the city. He was going to move us to a place surrounded by trees. He loved them so much that he even named my brother and I after his favorites.

His dream never came true. One by one, I lost my family, until I was all alone.
I suppose that’s why I decided to trust a stranger.

When you’re lonely and afraid, you’ll do all sorts of desperate things.
But I’ve never given up on my father’s dream. So, today I decided to run, and I didn’t stop until I found a place amongst the trees.

I’m not sure if this is where I’m meant to be, but the dragonfly I found is surely a good sign.

It just has to be.

Jackson

My angel mom gave me the best family. An entire club actually. Best of all were my grandparents. They even moved to a nearby farm to be closer to me. They didn’t get to watch her grow up, so they weren’t about to miss anything with me.

But my grandfather passed a few months ago and now I think my grandmother might be losing her mind. She thinks she has woodland fairies.

So when she decides to move to town, I breathe a sigh of relief. I thought it was a great idea, until she tells me that I’ve just inherited the farm.

This isn’t going to work. I’m not known for staying in one place for very long. I need to stay ahead of my demons. My mind is always going, it never stops.

But I can’t say no to the old woman, so here I am, living at Dragonfly Farms.

It’s just me, the critters, and her imaginary little fairy.

Fuck, this was an emotional read.
I loved every word, though.
It was just so freaking beautiful to see these two souls finally become one.
Plus there was humor, and steam, and the biggest found family feels you could imagine.
I couldn’t take my eyes off the pages to save my life.

I absolutely loved the way this author puts a story together. And the way she intertwined all the characters’ in such a unique and heartwarming way through all the dark and terrible things they’ve endured.
It was sad, and emotional, and full of wickedness trying to snuff the light out of these people. (So you should check trigger warnings before picking it up)

It was perfect.
I can’t wait to see more of the characters get their forevers started.

P.S. I don’t know how I forgot to mention this, but this book also has a tiny hint of primal play!🫣🥰 and it was super hot.

Wow this series is just so good and so emotional. I’m so glad everyone is getting closer. I so hope we get Willow’s brother’s story and Petey’s too.

Good gravy, this book!

Story: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Trope: heroine in peril, fated
Angst: 😱😱😱😱
Smexy: 🔥🔥

I just don't know how LM Terry does it! This book made my heart hurt till I cried and laugh till I cried, all on the same rollercoaster that had me walking away with a huge smile. Both Jackson and Willow were the two most pure souls of any book I've read. Their stories are both tragic and beautiful and I loved them for each other. I've been waiting for Jackson's story since we met him as a small boy and it was everything I wanted it to be ❤. The best storytelling. Complex and gripping storylines. Absolutely wonderful.

Terry has the ability to interweave the most horrifying situations with the lightest of moments that carry so much meaning. This whole series has trigger warnings galore and this book is no different. Please mind those warnings before starting. We get to see so many familiar faces and catch up with them. We also get to see some characters come full circle from where they started. One thing the Rebel Skulls believe in is family and being there for each other no matter what. Terry knows how to handle the trauma with somewhat of kid gloves and ease you into it. She doesn’t just dump you in to leave you there with no hope. The story between Willow and Jackson was full of so many things that could have torn them apart. But they remained strong and believed in each other. And believing in the rest of the Skulls. You will have a range of feelings with this story. From anger, sadness, happiness, joy, warmth, cold, rage, hopelessness, and love. Of course, there is spice thrown in and you won’t be disappointed with that either! I highly recommend this series and can’t wait to see what comes next for all the Skulls!

Such an emotional read but heartwarming as well.
Jackson has always been one of my favourites in this series so I was excited for this book and it didn't disappoint. Willow and Jackson are made for each other. I love how grandma is also in the story loads and you get more of other characters in the story that haven't had much before.
Its so well written how everything connects

Another good book 📖

SO WORTH IT.... I loved these two together. Lots of drama. I have a small issue. I really wanted to read exactly what was done to those girls before being sent to where they were going. In book 1, nothing was held back. But the last 3 books, you are slowly pulling back on details. I feel in love with book 1 because of the darkness, so going into the next book was a no brainer. Don't skimp on the details please. Can't wait for the next book.

There are some books that are so good, that it leaves you speechless. This is one of those books, I'm not even sure what to say. (Goes on to say a whole rant about this wonderful book, lmao)

It was genuinely such a beautiful book, it was heartbreaking and sad, but it still ended in a way that makes it all worth it. In a way that puts your heart right back together and shows you the meaning of what life should be, having friends and family that will mend all the pieces of your broken heart to make you whole again.

Basically everyone in this book had went through something terrible, yet in the end they were all okay, they were all able to let it go and strive for the future. What's more beautiful than that?

The best word to describe this book is heartwarming. At some points it was sad, but it conveys that everything happens for a reason, even if what happens does suck.
I mean look at Willow and Jackson, if all the bad stuff Willow went through never happened, she would have never met him. Instead she would be stuck in a house with her her drug addict mother who cared about nothing but fueling her addiction. Instead, she met Grandma Maggie and Jackson who cared so much about her that they mended all of willows broken pieces and showed her what having a big family is like, what having a place to call home is like. And in turn she was able to help Jackson too.

On that note, oh my gosh i love Jackson and Willow, their love is so pure and innocent, and just makes me so happy I could cry. And I did cry, they are so adorable. And just the way Jackson always cared about Willow since the moment he met her, and had no hesitation in trusting and believing Willow when she told the story of the struggle she went through with Bradley had my heart melting. They are so good for each other and deserve all the happiness in the world

I beg of you, anyone who reads this review, please read this book.
However, I will say since this is the 4th book in the series, and I started with it, it can become a little bit confusing with learning all the characters and how they are related. I mean I still am confused on the dynamic of the group, but honestly the confusion is totally worth it when it comes to this book.
So, just keep that in mind, and if you want start with the first book, since I'm sure it will be amazing since all of the characters are amazing.

Okay.. after my second reading this book was definitely not as good as I remembered it. The characters can be pretty childish and this time around it honestly weirded me out a little bit. idk

Sweet, energetic Jackson is all grown up and has sworn off women after his last experience with one. Willow was taken at 15. This book, like the rest in this series involves human trafficking so please read trigger warnings. The dragonflies brought them together on Grandma Maggie's farm. I loved Jackson from the previous books, especially how protective he was over Billie Rose. In this book, Willow hides from her abductor at Maggie's farm and becomes her "woodland fairy". When Maggie leaves the farm to Jackson, he's not sure what to think about the fairy doing chores while he isn't there or asleep. Once they meet, Jackson goes into overprotective biker mode.

I love that in all of these books, the whole club rallies around the women whe find their way to the club. L.M. Terry has knocked it out of the park again. Human trafficking and sexual abuse are rough subjects but she turns the victims in her stories into strong women/men who overcome the fear and trauma of their pasts. I'll definitely keep reading this series!

This is such a beautifully written, but heartbreaking story. Make sure that you read the first three books in the series, but especially Watercolor Skulls, otherwise the intricate plot really won’t make sense. I’m highly impressed how the author strung along such a complicated over arching theme between all four books and so many characters. It was lovely to see a grown up Jackson again - even if he’s deeply struggling because of a recent trauma. Willow is on the run and her trauma has been on going for years. This is a bit of a slow burn in the steam department, but it’s completely worth it because it makes complete sense within the story for what the characters are dealing with in terms of problems. It’s always wonderful to see all of my favorite characters again, such as Jesse and Dan. I can’t wait for the next book so that I can return to this world!

What an absolutely brilliant book. Made me cry, then made me laugh. The way trafficking is portrayed and how traffickers get their victims made me quite angry, then so sad to think there are people out there who don’t realise their worth. I do love a happy ending. Especially when I’ve finished the book but still want more. The characters all have their own stories to tell. You all need to read the whole series. Thank you for some of my best reading LM Terry thank you

"That man who hurt you. I'm going to find him. He isn't going to hurt you or anyone else ever again. I promise you." Jackson
"I'm never letting you go, Willow. You could run to the other wide of the world, and I will follow. You could pass into the next life, and I will be right on your heels." Jackson

A LITTLE ABOUT THE BOOK/HOW DID IT MAKE ME FEEL
I really loved the way this book started and the "woodland fairy" was so cute. And the concept of the book was kind of unique. I did enjoy the read even though there were a few things that made me scratch me head

WHAT I LOVED ABOUT THE CHARACTERS
I absolutely loved Jackson devotion to Willow. He wanted to take care of her and protect her. And he took that so serious. In fact this was one damsel in distress book where he should win an award for making sure she was never in distress.
Willow's character was so special. It was wonderful to see her coming out of her shell. I really enjoyed her too.
And all the side characters were fun too.

WHAT I LOVED ABOUT THE BOOK
I loved the Jackson was going to protect her from the horrible life she had to live. And no one would ever bring her harm.

MY FAVORITE PART- IF IT IS NOT TOO SPOILERY
There were so many epilogue was very sweet. I loved how patient he was with Willow. He never rushed her in her healing.

WHAT I DIDN’T LIKE
There were a few things that just felt off about the book. But nothing that I couldn't look past

"Monsters aren't always ugly." pg. 44

This book exceeded my expectations. LM Terry is a wonderful writer that manages to write about trauma with beauty that makes you cry but also fills your heart with hope and happiness. My husband calls these types of books "misery porn." He isn't wrong. It will definitely bring you misery, but also pleasure. Willow's character was just right amount of broken with enough strength to help her survive the trauma she endures. Meanwhile, Jackson is the perfect amount of "touch her and die" and indulging her innocent and wild like personality. Their love story is beautiful.

***Spoilers Ahead***

Growing up Willow idolized her father and looked forward to the day that her family would move from the city to a place surrounded by trees. But fate had other plans. One by one she lost her family, her father died, her mother was no longer the mother she knew, and then eventually she lost the only thing she had left, her beloved brother. As if life couldn't get any worse, her innocent was then taken from her.

She has spent years with Bradley, living in his van, traveling all across the US and being controlled by him and witnessing him help to steal more young girls innocence. After Bradley gives Willow to someone else to make her understand that things "could be worse" she decides that she needs to try to run. So she does. She runs and gets on a moving train to get as far from Bradley as she can, as quickly as she can.

One of the things that has helped Willow get through everything has been dragonflies. So when takes a break from the train and comes across a barn with a dragonfly painted on it, surrounded by trees, she decides that this is where she is meant to be, where she will stay.

Jackson has an entire MC that he considers family. He also has his grandparents, but when his grandfather dies and his grandmother claims fairies are helping her around the farm he starts to worry she might be losing it. So when she decides that she wants him to take over the farm so that she can move into town he is relieved.

However, it becomes obvious pretty quickly that maybe his grandmother wasn't losing it. It may not be the woodland fairies she claimed it was, but there is definitely someone doing work around the farm. At first Jackson is determined to find them and make them leave. But when he realizes it's a young woman and finally gets a good look at her, he decides that making her leave is the last thing he wants.

He knows she is hiding from something. So when her "brother" comes asking questions around town about her he knows he needs to find out what happened to her so he, and his MC can protect her from her past.

Jackson's MC accepts Willow as one of their own right from the beginning. But as her past continues to come to light, it turns out dragonflies aren't the only thing connecting these families. Turns out Bradley is connected to the enemies of many of the MC's enemies. Protecting Willow will protect more than just her.

Love this series

I love everything about these books and each one is a good as the last.
Continuing with the Rebel Skulls we’re following the children of the first 2 books.
The MMC Jackson is a good man, he’s there for his brothers, his family, he wasn’t there when his cousin needed him, he saw the evil that was around her and didn’t warn her after that evil touched him. He thinks if he spoke up about his trauma he would have saved her from hers.

When the woodland fairy his grandmother keeps talking about turns out not to be her imagination but a young woman he believes she’s a gift sent to him to help him as he helps her.

The FMC Willow is used to being quiet and invisible, she has never seen a family like Jackson’s, while she tries to untangle what is real and what isn’t from her past one thing she knows for sure is her soul has been calling to him.

I loved this book, there are some triggers, there are some triggers from Jackson which isn’t something we see a lot of either, but this book feels like coming full circle for these bikers.

I love all these books in this series, I love the writing, the characters, the plot, everything is constantly moving but not confusing, these are such easy books to read and love. I love that this MC is more about healing and finding their missing puzzle pieces and how easily they accept people into their family.

I don't normally leave reviews. I do however give stars and it is a 5 star for sure. I have read all of the Rebel Skulls MC books except for 5 and 6. I will be starting 5 right after I write this review. I just can't seem to put them down once I start. First of WOW! Just WOW! These books are not for the faint of heart. They have VERY sensitive content. What I've learned is never judge a book by it's cover. I'll try not to give spoilers but the prince may not be a prince and what might look or seem scary might not be so scary. I love how it comes full circle. YES! I have laughed and I have cried and boy do I mean cry. Hold on tight because your emotions will be all over the place. I do suggest reading the book in order so you can understand everything that is happening because like I said it comes full circle. Closure can be a beautiful thing.
L.M Terry writing style has you feeling like you are right there with these characters. Seeing what they are seeing. Feeling everything they are feeling. Stabs to the heart and tingles all the way to your toes. My heart is captivated and I can't seem to get enough. Bye for now gotta go start book 5. ;)

it was all worth it.

Avenging Skulls follows Jackson Raffe and Rachel’s son as he try’s to navigate his embarrassment at being S.A.d by a woman and how it has affected him. And Willow a woman who was abducted at 15 by a human trafficker. Her whole world revolves around him and the things she is forced to do see while he scopes out more victims. One day she gets the courage to flee and hops on a train when his back is turned. She ends up getting off in the middle of nowhere and finds the farm of grandma Maggie. She hides and lives in the wood only taking what she needs to survive. Grandma Maggie calls her a woodland fairy and when her grandson takes over the house and farm she makes Willow promise to take care of him. As time goes on they start fallling for each other and when her abductor finds where she is and disappears when the police do not quite believe his story. It’s up to Jackson and his new family to keep her safe and get justice for not only willow but for all the victims of the trafficking ring.

loved with all I had!

I don’t have enough words to rave about this read. I absolutely loved every second of it.

I didn’t read these in order… I saw this one on a reel and I couldn’t start three books before it and had to have this one and now I’ll go read the rest, but I regret nothing, because this made me smile, cry, and feel all the feelings. I loved every character, but there was just something about Jackson that I can’t really explain. I truly loved his character. The person he is. The man he is. I can’t fully explain it, but I fell for him most of all.

It’s strange, but I felt for Bradley as well. The life he lived, the way he was raised… he never stood a chance, like the characters said it’s all he ever knew. I do think in his twisted way, he did care for her, the only way he knew how, but still deserved his ending. It’s strange, the conflicted feelings she had, I did as well, but I have my own history and so it makes sense I guess.

Anyways, check out this author. This was my first from them but won’t be my last!

Title: Avenging Skulls
Author: LM Terry
Genre: Dark MC
Spice: 🥵 yes
Series: Rebel Skulls MC, book 4

Thoughts - at this point I’m not sure if I love how the men or the woman are written because they just continue to compliment each other perfectly each time. I could not get enough of willow MFC in this story and that the over riding storyline of the series really comes to light in this book. I loved that this story touches on male SA and that Jackson MMC was able to heal alongside willow. If you’re after an emotional dark Mc then this is the story for you.

Plot - With basically no options left, willow trusts a stranger who offered to help her. Years later after the choice turns out to have been the wrong one she has a chance of freedom, to run, to escape… only she ends up with an unlikely fairy godmother, and a man who will do whatever it takes to protect her.

* Determined MFC
* Found family
* Life after loss
* Dark themes
* ⚠️ Trigger Warnings

FULL CIRCLE! FULL CIRCLE!! FULL CIRCLE!!!!!!

Another banger.

Beautiful story, wrapping part of the story that starts in the first book. I know there’s a last book but still a full circle moment.
Jackson and Willow story is beautiful, hers is sad but seen her getting stronger after been in the possession of of a sex trafficker since she was 15 yrs old is amazing.
It’s crazy how easy it is to take people and simple vanish with them. I know it’s a fictional story but there’s a lot reality when it comes to the sex trafficking side. Everyone is fantastic in this book. Obviously the main character from the beginning like Dirk, Raffe and Dan are awesome but Jesse is the one I always tip my hat to it, she is EVERYTHING!
And let’s just say that when it started to come to the ending I had my suspicions of who “HER” was and I was right ! Can’t wait to see this story unfold and explained to us ❤️

Wow! I definitely wasn’t expecting this one. The way that this storyline and series is so interconnected is amazing. I absolutely love it. I devoured these books so quickly but they are forever living rent free in my head and heart. I can’t fathom how the author has this series so mapped out and put together in perfect order. Anyways this one was definitely a masterpiece. Willow was so lost and had no idea what to do next and a dragonfly lead her home. Now that isn’t the only thing that surprised me in this one. Jackson’s story was also heartbreaking because of the way he felt about himself. The love that Maggie showed both Willow and Jackson allowed them to find the love that they both needed and deserved. The plot twist in this was definitely the one that made me jump with joy and excitement for all the previous characters and sad stories from some of the previous books. Because again they are all interconnected. It’s really remarkable and the way that it all came full circle.

Emotional

O my, I loved this book just as much as the others. A real page turner. Willow and Jackson have been through so much before they meet each other, they truly are soul mates. I loved Grandma Maggie and her Woodland Fairies. I see the Dragonflies made their appearance again.
“Dragonflies have two sets of wings so they can carry angels on their backs”
“May you touch dragonflies and stars, dance with fairies, and talk to the moon”
L M Terry has such a way with words, a true artist and beautifully written, I really hope you give us Willow’s Brother Ash in the near future I would love for him to find his soul mate, will it be Kelsie ? When will the next one be out ? I need more of The Rebel Skulls in my life, pretty please with a cherry on the top.

Was decent

I'm 50/50 with this book I loved the plot and the whole first half of the book but I felt like the author tried to hard to make the dialog emotional and in doing that alot of characters including the mmc had this sort of group personality where even their dialog read exactly alike and at times just didn't fit the character or the setting for the book. At one point the mmc tells the fmc he will "absorb her pain" and to me that doesn't scream country biker it sounds more like something a character out of a fantasy romance novel would say. With that being said it's not horrible and I did enjoy it for the most part if you can get past the dramatic dialog it's worth the read

It was just meh.

The writing was good. The plot was good. I didn't even mind the flashbacks like I usually do. The main problem was it was boring.
It also would have been satisfying to have Bradley's pov. I wanted to feel his pain when he lost her.
The other problem was the cliché and tired love scenes. No imagination. I did like the chase though the woods part but their interactions were so recycled that I had to wonder if the author copied them from a book they themselves once read.
Anyway, I gave it a 3 because I liked the main characters and the book was well written. Perhaps if the book had a little more personality it would have hit the mark for me. I probably won't read anymore of this series though now that I know how boring and uncreative the author is.

Avenging Skulls Rebel Skulls MC book 4

Wow fantastic book I couldn't read it fast enough.

Jackson and Willows story was beautiful, so skilfully written and such an ingenious story line. How the dragonfly themed link wove it's magical story.

The final element has come full circle, linking Jackson's grandma, Raffe and Rachel, Dan and Lily and Kelsie finally Willow with Jackson.

What a plot twist with the Skull women but I won't say to spoil the plot. You just need to read all the books to enjoy the stories and how they all interlinked up
Still think there is mileage for more stories especially Peteys story

a beautiful end to the series

This series has genuinely blown me away. They were the first books by LM Terry I had read but they won’t be the last.

Avenging Skulls is the fourth book in the series and feels like we’ve come almost full circle. The way in which the author manages to bring out so much beauty and strength in such depraved situations is amazing.

There is closure for a lot of characters in this book and it’s an emotional read but so wonderfully done. The symbolism of the dragonfly is so perfect and is just built upon. Such an important symbol for all of the Rebel Skulls.

loved this book

I was completely mesmerised from the very beginning, the storyline just grabs you and takes you on a phenomenal journey through pain, loss, loss, payback, retribution and love.
This book is written with such detail and emotion, as with most of this authors books I was bought to tears - it was devastating what happens to these trafficked souls.
The Rebel Skulls are a marvellous bunch of misfits you can’t help but love each and everyone of them in their own way.
The relationship journey alone in this book was just honestly beautiful.
Overall another fantastic book from this series.

We first meet Jackson in Watercolour skulls, where he is a delightful quirky little boy. He is now a handsome biker and is still a lovely quirky character. Willow all alone at 15, is targeted by a predator and endures several traumatic years, one day she grasps her chance to flee. She finds herself camped in the woods that back onto Jacksons Grandma Maggie’s farm.

Although this story has some dark and sensitive issues, it is just so beautifully written. The book is full of twists, turns, danger, highs and lows. It’s an emotional, but captivating book and I cannot recommend it and the series enough.

This book was so sweet and endearing. I love the immediate connection that Jackson and Willow have. Willow is a girl who was sold into being trafficked at a 15 and when she was 20 she finally had the chance to run and she took it. She found a farm that she was drawn too and she loved so she did small things to help out without being seen. She "traded" what she did for eggs and food she took. The woman who lived there was finally able to draw her out and make her a part of the family. It is really sweet and even though there are some hard talks and backgrounds for every character in the book it was endearing nonetheless.

Not understanding the high ratings for this book. This was by far the worst one in the series so far and it was half assed. The insta-love was absurd. By far the fastest I’ve ever had the privilege of reading 🙃🙃 i can’t continue the rest of the series after this one. Tried to finish it off with the audio book too, to really get it done quick and the male narrator gave me the worst ICK. The character in general was cringe- zero character development or depth. And was every single character in this series either raped or SAed? Pick literally anything else at this point to keep people engaged. Gah 😩😩😩 i wanted to like this one so bad. Unfortunately it was a giant flop for me.
