Diaries of a Fashionista was such a fun, sweet love story about a fashion journalist named Poppy. Upon a new neighbor moving into her apartment building, she is assigned the biggest article of her career where she has to highlight a new, unique, up and coming artist. She decides to befriend her new neighbor, Atticus and write the article about him.

Atticus is the lead singer and guitarist of a pop punk band, and his entire way of living is completely different from Poppy’s. Going through this journey with Poppy to learn how Atticus lives and breathes the punk music and lifestyle was so fun. It takes us through the depths of both characters.

I have a major soft spot in my heart for a tormented soul, and clearly Poppy does too because of course she falls for Atticus. The only difference is I fell for him right away and she denied her feelings for him for quite a while! But hey, Poppy is young, so I’ve forgiven her for that lol. I just loved Atticus so much. His character is silly and playful, free spirited, deep, and utterly romantic.

I had a fun time reading this book and seeing how both characters develop throughout the story, and highly recommend it.

'The Devil Wears Prada' meets '27 Dresses'
'Confessions of a Shopaholic' meets 'How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days'

Although this book took me a while to read, I loved it, and I can honestly say I was never bored once. LaRocca made it feel like a 2000s romcom in the best way possible.

Reading this made me so happy because I want to be a journalist, and I love New York City, which is where this book takes place. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes romance books.

We follow Poppy and her life as a journalist for a fashion magazine. She is offered to write the front page article for the January issue. She needs this article to be something new and interesting, so she decides to follow around her polar opposite and new annoying neighbor, Atticus. Poppy and Atticus make eachother step out of their comfort zones and become better people. While Atticus is making Poppy step out of her comfort zone, her best friends Jeannie, Riley, and Tiff are doing the same thing. They want Poppy to meet someone new after being dumped by her ex, Liam. Jeannie, Riley, and Tiff all think that Poppy and Atticus are meant for eachother, but they can't be... right?
