Finley Fenn is “the queen of dark orc romance” (Virgo Reader), and her ongoing Orc Sworn series has been praised as “sexy, romantic, angsty, and captivating … utter brilliance” (Romantically Inclined Reviews).
When she’s not obsessing over her stories, Finley loves reading, drooling over delicious orc artwork, and spending time with her incredible readers on Patreon, Discord, and Facebook. She lives in Canada with her beloved family, including her very own grumpy, gorgeous orc mate.
Saw that this was free, so I gave it a go. Extremely minimal plot (sacrifice for the gods?), 99.9% smut, and miss girl agrees to leave her home after 10 mins with him? Hell no.
Glad I waited until later in the series to read this one.

Stella & Silfast’s tale isn’t a love story… not yet. It’s the tale of their first meeting under a full moon atop the Bautul Goddess’s altar. It’s short (less than an hour’s read) and, since it’s told from Stella’s POV we get a decent understanding of how she came to be there and why she might be so willing, ultimately, to follow Silfast back to Orc Mountain. But the Bautul captain himself is a mystery. He’s brutal and huge and frightening, and totally devoted to the whims of his Goddess. And this is why I’m glad I came back to this story after reading so much further into the series.
Stella & Silfast have a small presence in the other stories, starting in book 2 but they make their presence felt much more strongly in Gwyn & Joarr’s story. After seeing them struggle through Stella’s depression & anxiety in that book, and seeing Silfast’s devotion to Stella’s wellbeing (enough to rival his devotion to his own Goddess) their steamy first encounter is becomes much… more.
If you’re going to take the journey to Orc Mountain, this detour is highly worthwhile.
The orc sighed, and turned his face back toward the moon. “You have long walked under the goddess’ eye,” he said. “You have bravely bared your suffering before her. There is strength in this.”
I've been wondering why the full length books in this series are so long but this one definitely did NOT feel long enough! Not even for the actual main content - but to squeeze in this series' classic lush worldbuilding and the Bautul devotion to their moon goddess, it left little time for anything else! I do like that Stella - no beating around the bush resisting the inevitable for our heroine in this story!

I understand that this series is "dark" monster romance, but if this fucker slaps her one more time, I'm gonna break his hand.
Silfast comes across a human woman, laid out on what is apparently an altar for the goddess his clan worships. Stella is a human woman who lives in the vicinity and honestly sounds like she is going through a really bad depression and is one reason away from ending it all. Silfast basically tells her that because she has been masturbating while laid out on the altar, that she has already started a "sacrifice" to the goddess and needs to continue with him or offer her blood/life as a replacement. Silfast makes a very direct threat to kill Stella so she decides to cooperate (after having a crying episode over the fact that nobody, including her husband, would miss her if she was in fact killed).
Silfast then proceeds to hurt Stella in various ways, calling it a "cleansing"; mostly slaps, and 3/4 of those slaps are to her face. Silfast communes with the goddess that only he can hear, and tells Stella what she needs to do, to satisfy the goddess. Needless to say, this novella is one big sex scene and by the end, Silfast tells Stella that he's choosing her for his own; she's not really given an actual choice. At least Jules from the first book got a choice. Silfast tells Stella that he'll honor her, take care of her, love her ect; but oh yeah, whenever they fuck he's going to hurt her and expect her to just lie there and take it. Stella basically succumbs to her desperation of wanting someone to love her and cherish her, and agrees to be Silfast's plaything.
Nothing about this novella appealed to me, at all. I'm interested in another (there's 2 now) of the books simply for the menage aspect but I'm wondering if I should even bother.
I've read some shit and written some shit so content like this is nothing new to me, but this book didn't hit the "romance" mark for me at all.
Había terminado de leer este pequeño libro justo después de The Lady and The Orc, pero olvidé agregarlo en su momento. Puede ser descargado gratuitamente en la página de la autora si uno se suscribe vía e-mail.
Me gustó.
Offered By The Orc is a steamy short that’ll make you want to run around the woods naked! I give this ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!
This little snack gave us the origin stories of Silfast and Stella! It’s so STEAMY! They both just happen to be in the forest. At an alter. Under a full moon… Silfast snatches her up real quick!
Stella is seen as an oddity to her village, not that she cares. She loves having these private and calm moments in the forest. Silfast sees her as an answer to his prayers. She doesn’t need much convincing to let a hunk of an orc to take her right then and there. There’s a lot of kinky stuff in this one y’all!

Talk about HoTT Silfast ! *fans face* after reading The Lady and the Orc I had planned to read this but kinda got hooked into the series so I finished The Maid and the Orcs and then promptly flew back and read this.
I love when side characters get a story even if it's something small. #greedy
Loved this and so glad we get to read Silfast and Stella"s origin.
Not bad but not memorable, mostly just impact play altar smut, and I ain’t mad. I would have liked to see how they moved forward into their relationship though.
Series: Orc Sworn #1.5 Rating: 3 stars - I liked it

One fateful night, Stella wanders the forest seeking peace and an escape from her life. She finds an ancient altar in the woods and decides to give herself to the moon. But instead she finds herself being the sacrifice of a hulking orc who is determined to claim her every way.
This is a very short but very erotic story that is basically just one big scene. Stella finds herself giving up everything to the hulking orc Stilfast under the full moon, and I mean everything. I enjoyed this even though there wasn’t any character development and minimal backstory for these two. I kind of wish this had given us more information on Stilfast since he was just a minor background character in the first book.
Overall, I enjoyed this even though it had no character or world development.
From the bat the set up was clear of what was going to happen! From the first book I learned there is Orc lore that no woman can't help but not resist. I was kinda lost on the story without help from the audiobook. But I did like the premise of the short novella! I did like the acts of the alter! Very scandalous! Good short novella.
A short story that focuses heavily on explicit content. While it may appeal to a specific audience seeking such material, it lacks depth in terms of plot and character development. It's important to be aware of its explicit nature before reading, but if you're looking for a quick and steamy read, it might serve its purpose.
"have sex with me or I'll kill you" isn't dubcon, it's noncon, stop mislabeling your goddamn content warnings! If the FMC literally cannot refuse, it doesn't matter if he makes it enjoyable for her, it's still SA!
Furthermore, he went from ASS TO VAJ. The yeast infection is gonna be BRUTAL. That's a HUGE no no. I wanted to vomit.
somehow....the 39 page novella with actual BDSM and "we don't learn names we don't kiss" boning was LESS abusive and insane than the primary works.
also....it didn't have that 11th hour "she sacrifices herself to a man - oops JK she is saved by the orca in the same way" plot points like the primary works
Short novella, i like the choice of descriptive words and flow, but not so much of the ORC language/way of talking. This started out hot (later it was not so much so) but then i find myself cringing so much- too much madness was said, too much cleansing was said. It felt more like manipulation rather than complete submission from her too.
I was not into the religious aspect. Curious to see if this is an ongoing theme in the main canon series. also wasn't sure how I felt about the main character. Maybe this being a novella was difficult for me to process in a short time.
I love this series. It's so different from anything else I've read and I zipped through this absolutely filthy (in the best way) novella. It was a great addition, and even though I'm way behind in this series, on top of being a terribly slow reader, I'm so excited to read more Orc Sworn!
This wasn’t for me. It all felt very odd and strange. It lacked any type of romance in my opinion. It was also quiet….aggressive. Additionally, we didn’t even learn the orc’s name until the last few pages…
A hot little novella that delivers exactly what it promises: intense chemistry, fast-paced heat, and just enough emotional depth to keep it satisfying. Quick, filthy, and a fun addition to the Orc Sworn world.
