Absolutely brilliant. So happy I got an advanced copy as I love this series so much. Syd and Issac are my favourite book couple by far.

Another case to be solved, family and relationship drama follow. Lashell’s writing does a good job of unravelling the mystery providing the details that connects the dots rather then pulling something out of pull air. You can tell she’s thought this through even before from beginning to end. There’s also the added bonus of Simon/Jamie storyline.
However ike is using his powers more and more and people are noticing.
I love how over the course of the series he is slowly getting more comfortable using his skills. He sees the benefits and doesn’t feel ashamed or as much a freak as before and syd is there as his soothing balm. I just hope it continues to be a good thing and doesn’t come back to bite him in the ass. Can’t wait for book 10!

I love this series and it’s rare that I like series that evolve into getting multiple characters POV. The author does a good job of keeping Sidney and Isaac front and center and making sure that the other characters stories tie into the main characters. I can’t wait until Sidney finally gets her wish of becoming a mother because I know her journey through pregnancy is going to have some great stories. Hopefully, a network picks this series up because I would love to see Isaac solve a mystery every week.

Being the first book by this author I had no expectations going in but I can say—after finishing the story, I need to read everything by Ms. Collins. Her eclectic mix of police mysteries, romances, and adding in a paranormal element works, and works extremely well. I immediately felt at home with the characters and was hooked by the storyline quickly.

Detective Sergeant Isaac Taylor is a really likable character as is his wife Sidney. Both are hard-working and dedicated to helping others in their chosen careers, Sidney’s job is extremely close to her heart after her past trauma. They are a terrific couple and have amazing chemistry but more than that, a much deeper connection.

Simon, Sidney’s brother, and Jamie are another terrific couple just starting out in their relationship. You can really see the similarities between Sidney and Simon, both very caring people. I really like Simon and Jamie as a couple and found myself wanting poor Simon freed from suspicion. The familial support from Isaac and Sidney is a huge boost too.

This story has not one mystery but three going on where Isaac is involved somehow and it’s all incredibly exciting, especially when he uses his psychic powers. I loved the sense of humor in the book, given that there are some very serious elements, this humorous element balances the story beautifully. Then there are some very emotional moments where I am not afraid to admit I had tears in my eyes from the happiness oozing from the scenes, so powerful.

I am extremely excited to have discovered a new author to read and have already one-clicked my next book by her.

This Continues to be a Top Series of all Time For Me!!

This is #9 in the series. It will be the icing on the cake to read this series in order, but the author does a good job reminding us who the characters are and just a bit of their history making this very easy to follow along and stay on track. Isaac Taylor is a police detective. He has special powers that assist him in his job, but they come at a cost. He see pictures of events when he touches people. Until he meets Sidney he cannot have a personal relationship. Now he and Sidney are married, and Sidney anchors him allowing his powers to flourish.

Each relationship in this story is important. There are many characters and romantic sets, but the reader (at least this one) never gets confused. We have game night, witty conversations, career complications, and of course, the main detective case of the story. The progression of all these characters is quite satisfying and entertaining. Isaac and Sidney continue to be highlighted, but the balance is pleasing and well worth the read!

Issac, Sydney, Family & Friends

I hate to be redundant, but, this is my favorite book in the series. Yes, the last one was until Heroes & Hellfire. It may have to do with each book adding more family and friends finding their true life partner.

Isaac and Pete Issac's partner, are assigned the death of a firefighter during a fire. It looks like murder and it isn't easy investigating fellow first responders as possible suspects. Add that to some trouble for Sydney, and that's just the beginning for their family. Some good things are going on as well. Sydney and Isaac are married now and as hot as ever for each other. I love them as a couple, a relationship to be envied.

A tough investigation, how to hide and still use his abilities to help solve cases. You will see some other law enforcement involved. Will he be able to keep his secrets? So much going on, so hard to figure out WHO-DONE-IT, as well as maintain personal lives. But then you know those amazing guys and gals can and will solve the cases and keep their families and loves together--won't they?

Another enjoyable entry

Another fun check in with Ike and Sid. This might be one of my favorites in the series because it pretty much just focused on Ike and Sid (heavily on Ike) with a side story about Sid’s brother Simon. While I like all their extended family and quickly checking in with them is great, it’s all about Ike and Sid for me.

It’s great to see Ike’s progression into accepting his powers, but now he has to decide if he is ready for the world to know. That Janelle thing made me so mad but I loved how Sid and Ike handled it and it just made me love them more.

One thing I love about this series and this author is that although this is an ongoing series, these are complete books and once I finish a book, she’s already teasing the next book and had its’ release date and sticks to it!!

Can’t wait for the next one, I’m ready for Sid and Ike to get their dream and grow their family! *fingers crossed*

OMG! I was blown away once again! “HEROES & HELLFIRE" is book 9 from the phenomenal, "Isaac Taylor Mysteries" series and grabbed me from the get-go! ... Another fresh, new, storyline with mystery, romance, suspense and modern day magic! ... I love the relatable characters, both secondary friends & work colleagues, and some are new, but I mainly love our H/h, Isaac & Sidney... Their smokin’ hot chemistry burns right through the pages, as we see their story continue to unfold, working towards their own HEA... Plenty of twists & surprises will keep readers hooked & turning pages like crazy! ... I got this thru Kindle Unlimited, & can honestly recommend this to adult fans of fiction and I am so addicted to this phenomenal series, I can’t wait for more, but of course I always do ;) lol ... Run don’t walk to get yours, too!

A well done murder mystery

This was my first time reading this author. This book made Facebook's BWSL's Top 2022 List of which I am slowly making my way through the ones I have not read yet. I noticed that this is a series, but I did not have trouble following the plot. There were a few things I wished I knew what the background was. So, I guess I'll have to add the previous books to my TBR list.

Isaac was blessed or cursed with psychic abilities that was inherited from a long line of psychics. Sydney was his stabilising saving grace from the pressure and repercussions from his ability which helped him in his job. Even though Ike wanted to keep his abilities private, those that knew really respected him and admired him, especially his wife Sydney who was so proud of him and loved him dearly.

ARC for review

I have to admit the story started off kind of slow for me. I put it down for a few days then tried again. I should have known Ms. Collins was setting me up for the okey doke. I was minding my own business doing my due diligence when she snook me with a right hook, followed by an uppercut then knocked me on my a** with a haymaker. I'm floundering around trying to get my bearings and re-reading pages in a ditzy like what the h*ll?! This cannot be happening! It was on and popping after that. I did not want to put it down; but stupid crap got in the way like work and sleep. Like why are they necessary? Anyway, this book is 🔥🔥. One of the best ones yet and that's saying something. Love and Hate Crimes can't come soon enough.

Outstanding

I love this author and series. I would give it a 5++++++ stars. This book is also in the same excellent and outstanding catalog as all the books in this series. There is suspense, supernatural occurrence, strong family-friends dynamic, off the chart lovemaking, and the good guys always get their man. This is a page turner, that you involved and excited about the out come. Although the books in this series can read alone but if you read all books you will developed a relationship with the characters and become in their life. You will not be disappointed by selecting this book. Looking forward to the next book in this series.

Well I Definitely A Fan:. Loved This

This is my first book 📚📖 of Lashell Collins and I am definitely a fan. This story had me ready to start from the beginning to read Isaac Taylor and Sidney's story. I loved the fact that Sidney and Isaac both have this extended family which are there for each other. I am excited to read a new author and new experiences. I loved that Lashell Collins covered abuse of women and most of all I loved the fact of Isaac's psychic abilities is accepted in these stories, I love it's covered as a positive rather than a negative.

Good as always

Truly enjoyed seeing more from our supporting cast. My only complaint is Jamie not knowing what language her own community speaks. She is supposed to be part Filipino, enough so to cook a traditional meal.... How does she not know the language is called Tagalog and not Filipino? Other than that, enjoyed.

Heroes & Hellfire is book nine in the Isaac Taylor Mystery series by Lashell Collins. As with each previous book, a central case spearheads the drama, but other situations are a part of the narrative; these situations may or may not be resolved (I love the anticipation for future reading). In this outing, the central “who done it” is an arson case and Ike has little tangible evidence to call on during his investigation. In addition, Sidney and Ike have some tension related to her work as an activist and conduit for women in trouble. We see more growth in Simon and Jamie’s relationship as well as some serious trouble for Simon from an unexpected source! Will Ike be able to help his brother-in-law and wrap up his own arson case? You don’t have to be a psychic to answer that question! As always, Ike and Sidney are cute and hot together and the secondary characters flesh out the story and keep us entertained.
