This is a spy/assassin/political skullduggery/conspiracy thriller and not for the fainthearted. In anticipation of the release of Book 2 in this series, I re-read book 1, Games of Deceit, again in which we were introduced to the main character of this series Cairo Elizabeth Corbyn " Kai". With each re-reading of the books, knowing the ending of each book, this reader has a real appreciation for the plotting of each book and the subtle clues that are sprinkled throughout the story. There is plenty of action & intrigue to keep the story flowing. At the end of this book 2, some questions are answered and the main threat is taken care of, but more questions still remain. I am looking forward to the next installment in this series. This is a terrific read. This book can be read as a stand-alone book. 5 stars.
If you would like to read more books by this author, while waiting for the next book in this series to be published, check out the "Next Exit" 7 book series.
A former Mossad elite assassin thought killed in a blast that left no survivors, except the one person she saved, has resurfaced as a private contractor…an assassin for hire. With a reputation as a killer who never misses, she is offered a contract to kill the person she saved 4 years earlier, a former navy seal. Does she accept the contract or walk away? Investigating the circumstances around the contract, she uncovers an international plot of deceit and terrorism and decides to save the former seal again while chasing those behind the terrorists. Another great story by an author whose trademark has become tales of intrigue and suspense…a page turner that’s hard to put down.
A female assassin with a conscious. Kai only takes contracts on bad guys. She returned from a vacation and is offered a contract with a huge payout. She looks at the person she is to kill and it was a soldier whose life she had saved only a few years before. She accepts the contract, but she wants to know why he deserves to be killed. Dean the soldier finds there is a traitor in the CIA after someone tries to kill him. This is a great book and should be made into a movie. It gets your attention on page on and doesn't let go till the end. Its a must read.
After waiting for over a year for this book, CW Browning has delivered yet again, with Close Target, the second book in her Kai Corbyn series. It really was well worth the wait. I went to bed feeling exhausted, thinking that I would read just a chapter or two before going to sleep, only to become so engrossed that I couldn't put it down until I had turned the last page. That surely must tell you all you need to know about this book. This is a must read series! Don't miss it
Kai has taken a very lucrative contract. A former Mossad operator , a Kidon. A assassin. She only will accept a contract for bad people. The ones who deserve to die. The former Navy Seal, now CIA agent is a good man. She will do everything in her power to help him. Non stop a action , deceit, betrayal...treason. Another excellent read in this series. Enjoyed immensely!!
I couldn’t wait to read this sequel by C W Browning and powered through it in 2 days - Kai Corbyn is an assassin with a contract on a CIA special agent she saved in a blown operation 4 years ago. As she gets closer to him she realizes the hit is not just and works to solve the mystery behind the hit. Non-stop action - loved it!
