Gio I never meant to hurt my mother. She wasn’t supposed to see us. I should have gone after her, but I was angry, young, and confused. I knew what they thought, but they were wrong.
I made a promise, one I planned to keep. However, it would cost us all. I’m the reason—the reason the twins lost their mother, the reason Ny lost her family, the reason Jace has no one. I’m the problem and the answer.
Nyla I can’t lose them. They’re all the family I have left. Lizzy is all grown now, but she will never know what I’ve sacrificed for her, for dad, for aunt Denise, for my heart. He wanted my body, it was his, he wanted his doll collection, I let him have it.
Now I want something from him, we both do.
Jace I’ve always wanted two things. Revenge and a family. I’ve shared everything with him since we were born. The two of them have been in my life through it all. Losing my mom and dad, having to watch my new family fall apart.
He promised he’d help me make this right, but I don’t know if he will give us what we truly want. This time we may have asked for too much.
Will this request unravel it all? Will the Di Lorenzo’s lose everything because we lost our way? Or will the ones left behind restore all that was lost?

This book starts out great but as you go along in the book it gets confusing with all the characters! You get introduced to characters you hadn't heard of before and that continues throughout the book. I get Gio has to learn about this thing but damn Nalya will be an old woman before kid or marriage!
this book had too much going on and took too long to get there
I don’t even know where to start. Let me start with the good things first. The cover and description grabbed my interest. Jace is my favorite character. This book had a lot going on. Revenge. Secrets. Poly-love. The story has potential, but the plot and payoff were delayed for too long. One thing the author could have done better is make the dialogue between characters clear as to who is talking when there are more people on the scene than the narrator and one other person. There were times I didn’t know who was talking about what in the conversation. I know there is a book two and I may read it with the hopes that the author tightens the story and advances it in a way that gives the reader a deserving payoff. 24 years!
Let me start by saying I can’t believe Blue wrote this book! It was horrible! It was confusing and way to many characters to keep up with. No way is a woman who claims to be bad ass, educated and knows what she wants in life staying with these two men. Both of the men came off a weak and pathetic bosses. 24 years of the same BS. I struggled getting through this. I’ve never taken this long reading a Blue Safire book. Please don’t waist your time on this one.
OMG I couldn’t wait to learn more about Gio, Jace and Nyla and oooooh weeeee this was so good🙌🏾. The back story of how they all came to be and why it works has been fascinating🥰. You can feel the love they have for each other and their chemistry is super hot🔥😈😡🔥.
I loved that Gio and Jace each brought something different to the table for Nyla😘. Gio had claimed Nyla as his and everyone understood but Jace knew things would evolve for the three of them because of their strong connection and love for each other❤️. It certainly was not happy24/7, as they battled their enemies. I was super happy for Jace throughout the entire book as his family structure came together😊. The years Nyla endured not getting what she wanted was heartbreaking🥺😢, I was hella pissed off at Gio. I admired Nyla for making a stance and walking away for her own sanity. It’s been fascinating to see Gio in another light learning his reasons and strategy for moving his chess pieces around. Sooo much more information about the family is reveled and I liked that towards the end you were seeing the parallel stories of Dante & Lizzy and Dario & Carleen🥰.
There is so much more to their story and I can see why there is 2 parts and glad it wasn’t crammed into one book. I am anxiously waiting for the second part🥰😘.
I didn't hate it but this book was like a scenic tour where a lot happened yet I took few picture cause the sites didn't wow me. It just felt stretched out and overly complicated. I adored Dario & Carleen's story and I enjoyed Dante & Lizzy's story but this one seemed to be missing something.
Three issues I have: 1) There's very little romance. I'm fine with suspense and crime drama but I also like those moments that make a reader swoon because at the heart is a love story. Dario & Carleen have it. Dante & Lizzy have it. Gio, Nyla, & Jace IMO do not. I actually understood Ny's frustration over the wait cause I felt the same thing reading this book and waiting for it to hit. 2) Maybe things will change in part 2 but seemed like Ny is in love with Gio and loves Jace. The best I can describe it is when you really are in to one guy but he can mess you up emotionally so you have a back up guy who make you feel better but you're still really stuck on the first guy. That's how it came off to me. 3) I wanted a true menage romance and I felt like that it could possibly be the case from the hints in the twins' books. It is not. It's a shared woman romance, which is fine but not totally my thing as I prefer when all three partners are in love with each other. The problem with this book is there were too many references how straight Jace & Gio are as well as other casual references to prior polyamorous relationships where the men were very straight. There seemed to be a recurring vibe that m/m sexual or romantic relationships were "icky" and that bothered me. There were also some weird dialogue moments about masculinity in relation to homosexuality.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
This story was long and still nothing was resolved. You're left with more questions than answers. Some of it didn't make sense to me because after all that time, everything was the same and everything became repetitive and predictable. After 24 years, Ny is still single with a semi-relationship with Gio and Jace, still not married or no kids, and the situation is still not resolved. How long will she have to wait?? Waiting is all she has done and loving from a far. That gets old and I'm glad that she finally left.
This was a hard one to keep reading. And I will read part two just to finish but I hope it’s better.
I liked the concept but the execution was lacking. This story was drawn out much like Nyla’s life with Gio and Jace. Some parts made no sense, so parts was just too unrealistic. This is really a2.5 star read flame that I decided to round up instead of down
I took off one star because I was disappointed that their story wasn't finished by the end of the book. Although I really love series, I'm not fond of cliffhangers; but that's just a personal preference.
I always enjoyed and love when an author gives a insight of a background story. And I really Love that Blue Saffire is one of those authors that kills it, when it comes to back stories.
Who would've thought all this stuff was happening in the background of this series. The amount of times I shed a tear with hoe heart broken a situation was, is to many to count.
I felt for so many people who was affected by Riccardo BS. So many lives lost. I was also aurpise by how some of the "dolls" that was collect could be disloyal. That shit really amazes me since didn't they save ur lives. If it wasn't for Nyla you would've been stuck in the same situation you were in. It's literally the back stabbing and unappreciated for me.
I really enjoyed reading this book and series. I had to start all over from book one, so I can remember what was happening. And God was it worth it. All the peices are slowly coming together.
My heart really goes out to Jace and Nyla. Not to say my heart doesn't go for Gio. Esp. Since he sacrificing a lot and he's trying to do what's best. But you could sew from day one that Jace and Nyla was on the same page on what they wanted. And it feels like Gio is on the too late side to see it.
Or maybe I'm not see Gio side of the story fully. 🤔. Who knows, but I had high hopes that they would've gotten somewhere further then where they are at now. I can 100% agree and understand Nyla frustration. About her wanting something and then after everything stilling being denied. But I can also understand Gio not wanting to give her that until everything was settled. It's a tough situation.
Gio is truly the Puppet master but he just might be playing himself as well. Overall a great read for it to end on a cliffy. Good thing I waited for both books to come out.
With that being said onto Part 2 of this book series. 🥰
You get mafia, reverse harem, assassins, and power struggles all in one book. This book was a story that had me going through emotional up's & downs. The back story was so top tier that I was screaming at the Kindle like .."nope and oh hell naw!" Gio, & Jace's friendship was everything, but add in Ny that shit was explosive as hell. As much as they battled enemies they battled for their love. The dolls now that idea from Gio was such a top notch idea...I was sitting reading thinking that's a real boss move. Even though I love a good slow paced book, but the fast pace of this book was something I enjoyed because you couldn't stop reading it. I like how the story followed Gio, Jace, & Ny from teenagers to adulthood plus all the trials and tribulations they endure. This whole book world was chaotic and full of spice. The plot got thicker and thicker ... I'm living for it! The villain Riccardo I'm just ready for part 2 because the way this ended I just know I'm about to be screaming smack dat trick at my Kindle! The sex ....lordt have mercy was mind blowing and I know this relationship came with a lot of baggage, but damn if I wouldn't risk it all for Jace and Gio ijs. This was too damn good to end we need part 2!!!!
This book was an eye opener to who Gio is and how connected he is and doesn't even know. This book shows how calculated he really is and how much he is like his mother, father and grandfather. How his relationship with Ny and Jace has revolved into what it is and how far he will go to protect them. His love for Ny knows no bounds and I can't wait for Gio to release rage and ferry towards his fake grandfather Riccardo. I hope they keep Riccardo a live long enough to find out who Lucas is connected to and how will Gio and brothers feel once they find out who their real father Lucas really is? Will Gio, Ny, and Jace get there happy ever after and family once everything is said done? Who will be left standing? So many questions left unanswered. Can't wait for part two.
This is some serious love for you to share your woman, this is like some beyond brother type of thing. I didn’t know how this would work especially with Gio being so possessive and protective towards Ny. Jace was just the same and since they had so much love for each other, it worked for them. Blue is one of my favorite authors and she didn’t disappoint with this one either. I loved everything about this book, from their special bond with each other, their bond with their families, their chemistry together was explosive. I stayed up reading this, went to work reading this, getting a oil change reading this, eating dinner reading this. Lol, what can I say this book had me hooked from the beginning. Now I’m waiting for part two of this series.
I’m not a fan of cliffhangers but for this story to continue, it is worth it. Do yourself a favor and read the books in order! This is a beautiful story. The women and men of these stories are beautiful and their interwoven stories are lovely! It is real life (well, it feels like it). Pain, sorrow, joy and happiness. Love, fierce love and life long friendships. Most of all, this series is about family! The one your born with and the one you choose to call your own or that owns you. I am looking forward to the next installment. In the meantime having read this book I think I’ll re- read Dante’a story, the first book.
I’ve been waiting for Gio’s story since book one, chapter 1. I knew he was going to be an interesting man, and this book did not disappoint! If you haven’t read books 1 & 2 I highly suggest you read them before this book, this one lets you see how everything comes together, not just Gio, Jase & Ny, but going further back to their parents & grandparents so you can see how Gio is lining everything up. This is a why chose story and man-Gio is intense. Jase compliments him and their love of Ny is so sweet. But be prepared because this story has a huge time span of their love story. I’m so excited for book 4 because we’ll get to see how all the pieces fall!
I’ve read Blue Saffire’s books for years, all of them multiple times, and yet it still amazes me every time how she draws you into a story that makes you feel like you’re right there with the characters. I’ve been waiting patiently ( NOT) for Ny, Gio & Jace’s story since she teased us with it in Book 1. And as usual….. NOT DISAPPOINTED. The way she weaves the story is just freaking amazing. Now I will wait patiently ( NOT..lol) for Book 4 because I know it’s about to go down.
I love this last book it so fast pace, if you don't read the first books you will be so lost and not understand the plot Gia has set into motion you got to see the beginning to see the end boy I am looking for book 4 because I am lost to why Ny, left an not let the guys know she was alive all so why did Ric put a bomb on Ny car. I just got to wait for book 4 to get my answers plus what is going to happen to all their plans! Well we all got to wait an see. Happy reading😊.
Man I love this series!!!!! Gio is a genius and the total package. He is truly the puppet master, I just hate that it has taken all these years to finally have everything in the position he needs it to be in. I just hope he hasn't lost Ny for good this time. I just love Jace also. I don't think any of this would work without him or Ny. Now that everyone has gotten what they want and need because Gio made it possible, I'm ready for him Jace and Nyla to get their needs and wants. 💛💛
Man was I NOT DISAPPOINTED when it came time for Nyla, Gio & Jace's story!
I love this series and have been on the edge of my seat since the first book. Honestly I'm so glad I happened upon this author and series.
This trio is off the chain lol like 🥵🥵 I knew from jump they had something going on back in Dante and Lizzy's story but as we progressed it only got more intense and interesting.
I give this book four stars mainly due to it being split into two parts and I'm ready for everything to be revealed damn it lol!
Oh WOW! I feel like Jace is not being given his true p!ace in the trio. I don't like how Gio treats him. No wonder he feels left behind. He should have his own woman. I understand how Nyla feels about what she wants and her age is a factor. Gio is good at what he does, but he is taking too long to end the problem, so it's no wonder Nyla wants out. The puppet master us running out of time trying to control everyone's life but his.
It's been twenty four years since the disappearance of Gio's mother and the murder of Nyla's parents. Enough time for Gio's brother to become men, Nyla's sister to to become a woman and for all of the other required pieces to be in place.
Wow! Twenty four years and waiting! . . . "Hope deferred makes the heart sick ..." This is where Nyla is. But "... Desires fulfilled is the tree of life!" This is what Gio is working to fulfill!
I didn’t think I would like this series, but I was proved wrong. Blue did it again. Absolutely loved this book, and I can’t believe I have to wait for part 2. I thought finally the fab 3 was going to get theirs chance. I ow it’s coming but dang my uterus hurts for Ny, she’s almost 40, and yes I know you can still have babies then, but it’s been 19 years of waiting. Part 2 better get us triplets.
I am not disappointed. The plot continues to thicken and when you think there’s revelations, there’s another twist. I love how it tracks Gio and how his parents began molding and putting things in place for him to correct old wrongs. Let Riccardo think he’s got one up because he found out about Ny. Sir… pick a branch to climb and swing from, but beware of thorns and the residents of those branches. Looking forward to part 2.
Ohh I’ve been waiting on their story. Gio is the ultimate puppet master in all of his brothers stories and Jace is his silent right hand. Nyla is their heart. I wondered how they came to be a throuple. This book didn’t disappoint and answered a lot of questions about their relationship, what happened to their families, and the Mob. Well written! Kept me in suspense, hot and bothered, and intrigued. Can’t wait for their next book! I loved it!
Brilliantly written! I don’t know how you do it,Blue! Your mind must be a maze in keeping all these timelines intact and accurate between the three soon to be four books. I have a headache just trying to remember all the characters in the three books and the events that happened. Not going to reveal anything in my review. If you want to know? Read this book. You won’t be disappointed.
I'm on the edge of my seat for part two. Whew we got some back story didn't we? The little nuggets dropped in Dante and Dario's books were great but nothing could compare to what we have been given thus far, am I right? I'm 100% sure that when we get part two Ms. Blue will have our minds completely reeling. Y'all read this book so you know what I'm talking about. She is GENIUS I tell ya. Loving this series and am looking forward to the conclusion.
Blue can really weave the neck out of a story. Part one we get the foundation of Gio, Nyla, and Jace story. All the puzzles are starting to click in place from the other books. My only issue was my man Jace and I how o felt like he was always a second thought to Gio and Nyla. My heart felt for Jace his love is unyielding when it come two those two. I'm hoping the next book gives him equal footing.
We watched her masterful art with the Brothers Black series and she has done it again with the Work Husband Series. But this thing with Gio, Nyla and Jace, OMG!! I've laughed, cried, commiserate and the angst. Can't wait for Part II of The Ones Left Behind. 🤦🏾♀️
Good Great but this should have been the conclusion
I loved this series but it'll it goes beyond book 3, I'm going to have to take a break. The cliff hangar at the end after everything was explained should have been it. The end. I'll be back later only thing I'm half way curious about is the babies she want so bad.
