Eric Swan, the spy who can never die, is on the hunt.
He’s chasing down the most destructive hacker of all time. This shadowy figure, known only as Ceti, is laying the groundwork for toppling the world’s economy.
But few people know Ceti’s true identity—and those who do have a habit of turning up dead.
Swan finds himself in a battle against time and a distorted public image. How can he prevent a villain from creating international chaos when people see the madman as a hero?
Quiet War is the fifth book in the Eric Swan thriller series. If you enjoy a dynamic fusion of action and intrigue, with a solid dose of humor, you’ll love Dom Testa’s Eric Swan novels.
I have been a fan of the Swan stories since book 1, and this one does not disappoint! I always enjoys the quick pace and the mix of action with character development. I appreciate the fact that the protagonist’s nefarious plans always feel close enough to reality and detailed enough to feel believably nerve-wracking (the digital possibilities here definitely left me a little unsettled), but not with so much minutiae that the plot progress gets bogged down. I also like being able to sniff out the bad guy, but not so much so that there aren’t still surprises as things build toward the peak of the events, and I feel like Testa does that really well here. Most especially, I always find myself drawn to the humanity of Eric Swan - his sarcasm and efficiency balanced against his internal and philosophical struggles. I root for him, empathize with him, enjoy him, and find him believable. Looking forward to the next installment!
Each book keeps being better than the last. I am loving the adventures this man who cannot die keeps getting into. This time he is up against a hacker who is aiming to end the world by destroying its economy. And Eric also has to figure out, as usual, who he can trust. ANd, again as usual, he chooses right. Or does he? Read it to see!
Eric Swan books are fast paced and full of excitement. This newest addition doesn’t disappoint. The chase is on to stop the annihilation of the world economy. Great characters that readers really get to know and care about. Eric Swan is especially becoming more vulnerable to the readers. Can’t help but root for him
