Awe. That was so sweet! That seems like a wildly appropriate reaction to a story about a pair of pasty-baking magic users. I loved how Hazel and Antonio’s story was not just about the two of them finding a life partner in each other but also carried messages of being true to yourself and some of the less pleasant results of jumping to conclusions. I really enjoyed seeing the cameo appearances from some of my favorite characters out of other books and series from this world, and I can’t wait to read even more. I received a complimentary copy of this book through Booksprout.
A friend of mine was wondering why so many of my fanfics included a thorough description of the smell of fresh baked bread. Well, it's quite simple. I love the smell of fresh baked bread, pastries, cookies and anything else. So, you can imagine that this series, filled with baking and descriptions of baking, is perfect for me. I'm really glad I could get a copy via BookSprout.
Once more the author wrote a really cute romance. And I think this might be one of those rare books by this author where there is actually a communication issue between the two main characters! And although I love the kind of drama and angst coming with such communication issues, I'm really happy the author shows us that those issues can be solved by actually talking.
What I liked about this installment is that it also showed us how hard it can be to have to follow in someone else's footsteps and how hard it can be to break free when you want to do something else. Of course, the author doesn't make all the issues bigger than they should be, but it's a very real thing and it really made sense for especially the hero to experience this.
I also really enjoy watching the interactions between the siblings starring in this series. Although the books make sure to really spend most of the time with the sister actually being front and centre in the story, we do see them working together, talking, teasing and looking out for each other. It's the kind of sibling bond everyone without a doubt wants to have.
I received a free copy from the author through Booksprout and voluntarily reviewed it.
After finishing The Cupcake Witch I dove right into book 2 The Macaron Witch. In The Macaron Witch Hazel is invited to teach a class at her old cookery school. While there she meets the handsome sous chef who helps her out and shows interest in her baking with magic. The two get talking and Hazel agrees to teach him about magic in baking.
I liked the strong focus on baking. It was fun to read about Hazel's baking and also how food was the thing that first connected her and Antonio. I liked how most of their dates involved cooking, baking or food in some way as well. I liked reading about Hazel and Antonio, they were fun characters to read about and felt real. I thought it was interesting how Antonio loves baking, but actually wants to do something else with his career, while Hazel is happy with the job she has.
There is a bit of a miscommunication issue, but I liked how it was handled. It made sense from both their point of views what happened and I like that they talking things through instead of letting it escalate into a bigger issue. I thought it was great to see how they handled it. They were great to read about and I hope we get to see a bit of how things are going next with them.
I like reading about the bakery and the sisters that work there. There's a bit of a set up for the next book at the end too and I am curious about Ash.
To summarize: I really enjoyed The Macaron Witch. I enjoyed reading about Hazel and her romance with Antonio. I liked the strong food theme of this book with all the baking and cooking and how food was the thing that connected the two of them at first. I liked reading about their romance and all the food. I liked how they handled a bit of a miscommunication issue that popped up and how they talked it through before it could escalate into a bigger issue. The bakery is a lot of fun to read about and all the sisters that work there.
Hazel does a teaching class for a chef that she has foillowed for years, and when she meets his sous chef, Antonio, sparks fly. But why hasnt he told her who he really is? Is he lying to her - or is it simply a miscommunication? Loved this story! :-). I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Cooking... the way to the heart The Parke sisters are cooking again, this time it's Hazels time to shine. She is the pastry chef who specializes in macaroons. A surprising teaching opportunity takes life in a new direction. She meets Antonio, her idol Chef de Rossi's son, however she doesn't know that. The tow hit it off and a slow burn romance begins.... they get to know each other and another surprise opportunity if given to Hazel, that stirs up confusion that is quickly ironed out and the two are closer than ever. A fun romance and looking forward to more cooking and these sisters!
Another sweet "class"-y installment in the series. Sexy Italian baker ready to sweep you off your feet? Yes, please! Although I was very surprised that Hazel didn't figure out who Antonio was for most of the story. I enjoyed reading about Hazel's baking process with the macarons while she was teaching the class, and it felt very realistic with how nervous she was, and her hands shaking, etc. Laura Greenwood really excels at bringing realism into her magical writing. I read this on Kobo Plus.
Macaroni Witch was a fat and easy book to read as well as very enjoyable. Sometimes when you are not feeling well and easy read wear you don't have to think is the vest thing. I also found this story very relevant having a father who was very famous his field and all thought I wanted to do something different with my life I was constantly being told I would ruin his reputation if I decided to follow my dreams. Some times its hard to strike out on your own.
After two books, I can definitely say that this series is a hit. It’s light and refreshing, without a lot of drama. Sometimes that just what I want to read. I look forward to reading more from this author.
This second installment is so enjoyable. I love the story line and how the characters enjoy each other. A fresh look at what witches are not… this series is so much fun.
Hazel and Antonio were a fantastic couple from their very conception, and I love that their relationship is built on cooking. Passions in common are thoroughly enjoyable, and the fact that both the leads in this story are passionate about food, a perfect romance. Plus, they are able to grow and expand on their talents whilst getting to know one another – a win win.
This is yet another simple and enjoyable story from Greenwood – one that I really loved reading. I’ve never even tried to master macarons, but reading about how to make them was fascinating. Plus, it bought to life the power of magic and emotions in food. Alright, I can’t cast a spell and magically imbue magic into my baking, but I can put all of my emotions into it.
As with The Cupcake Witch, The Macaron Witch touches upon the grey area of imbuing feelings into our food. I love that it’s a discussion that the sisters constantly engage in – making sure that they stick to their moral code whilst still expanding on their talents and the bakery. Plus, they are able to see how infusing feelings into baking might be able to expand to others forms of cooking.
I love that although the Broomstick Bakery is doing incredibly well and the girls have each found their niche, they are also starting to branch out and discover new avenues of food making. Each of them are constantly expanding their skill set and finding new avenues of passion, alongside falling in love and finding their happily ever afters.
The Broomstick Bakery series is back with the second book in the series, Macaron Witch. This sweet little romance follows the youngest sister Hazel as she finds not only a little magic in her sweets but in her love life as well.
Hazel is the youngest and like her sister has a passion for baking, macarons being her specialty. Hazel seems more like the risk taker out of the four, more free-flowing, with blue hair and excitement for food. I love that Hazel gets to meet one of her idols and has the opportunity to teach others what she knows. I also liked getting her perspective about magical-imbued food, it seems like each sister thinks the same but sees things from a new angle.
Antonio DeRassi is Hazel's love interest, he's a good guy that shares Hazel's interest in learning new things as well as her passion for all types of food. Antonio clearly likes Hazel, there is respect for what she does and an appreciation of who she is. While Hazel admires Antonio's plans for what he wants in the future and that he's capable in his own right.
Macaron Witch was a cute and quick read. Very little angst, just a bunch of adorable moments with two people who were meant to find each other. And let's not forget about the delicious and (literal) magical food. The next sister up is, Rowan and while I wait I get to read Ash's(their little brother) novella which, after reading what was said about him, should be interesting.
Hazel Parkes is a pastry chef that specializes in baking magical macarons. She enjoys adding magic and emotions to her baking. Hazel is invited to teach a class on magical infused baking at her former chef school run by Chef DeRossi. Hazel idolizes Chef DeRossi. She has looked up to his baking for over ten years. She cannot believe they want her to do a baking demonstration at the school.
When Hazel arrives at the school she meets Antonio who is the sous chef to Chef DeRossi. Antonio is Hazel’s assistant for her demonstration. Unbeknownst to Hazel, Antonio is Chef DeRossi’s son. They work very well together. What will happen when Hazel finds out who Antonio’s father is?
Antonio visits Hazel after the demonstration and asks her out on a date. Whenever they are together it feels like they have been together for years. They fit well together. They have an undeniable attraction to each other. Their courtship is very sweet.
This is the second book in the Broomstick Bakery series. The book flows and is easy to read. The characters are whimsical and wonderful. This was an enjoyable story to read. I cannot wait to read the next book in the series. I received a free copy of this book from Booksprout and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
I thought it was a British spelling for the Coconut Cookie, Macaroon!
That is my one criticism with the series, too much food, & not enough story or character development. I think it's a romance series for "tweens".
Like all of her other books, it's fun, easy, fast,& entertaining. I would have liked more story & less food.
Let's really get to know the characters (something Ms Greenwood is skilled at).
I will likely finish the series, but I find myself wishing I had the money to buy some of her complete older series that are more "paranormal" & aimed at a slightly older audience. This series is perfect for 11-13 year olds (especially little girls, who will likely feel empowered by it; not because of the cooking), imo. It's well written, but a bit too cute, and too much focus on food! ( to repeat myself).
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Our heroine is well versed in cooking magic, but romance is a bit out of her realm. Our hero feels the same, but also can't resist the attraction between them. Perhaps they can make some magic of their own.
This is book two of the series, but it is written as a standalone. No prior reading is required.
The story is a paranormal romance with a touch of magic. The story is well written and easy to read with an intriguing setting and fun characters. I loved both our hero and heroine and enjoyed watching the sparks fly as they explore the attraction between them. The plot moves at a solid pace and makes for a fun story. Overall, another enjoyable entree from our author and I look forward to seeing more in this series.
Highly recommended.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout for review purposes.
I do believe that I like Hazel's story better than Oakley's. And Oakley's was precious.
Hazel goes to the school to teach her class only to find out she get a hunky Italian man as her sous chef named Antonio. (Man am I glad I watch baking shows or I wouldn't know how to pronounce half the pastries much less know what they actually are.) He has a personal secret and wants to learn a few things from Hazel and his dad affords him the perfect opportunity. Needless to say not only do the magical sparks fly but so do the personal sparks. UNTIL...........a miscommunication happens. Can their budding romance survive????
Buy now with one click and find out. It's so worth this magical journey you'll be taken on. I eagerly await Rowen, Clover and Ash"s books. I gotta read them all!
This was a fun story to read. I enjoyed it. Hazel & her sisters run their bakery. Hazel goes back to the school to do a demo for the students there where she learnt how to cook. She meets a handsome man & they slowly fall in love with each other. I really liked how Hazel & Antonio got together after her finding out he was the boss's son. This story is filled with love for family & the love for a man who is handsome & makes Hazel wish he was her's... Could love make things easier for them all. Read this series & find out for yourself!!
P.S. I really wanted more at the end of the story. I wouldn't mind if all these stories where put together into a omnibus, once all the stories are written, maybe?
"...the bakery works because we all work together."
Hazel enjoys making her magical pastries, but the chance to teach others, at the school where she studied, if only for one day, opens the door to new thoughts and opportunities.
Antonio is used to helping out his Dad, and being seen in that context. He's dazzled by the talented witch who sees HIM, talks with and listens to him, and understands his desire to do more than just his current job.
This done in one story stands solidly on its own, and tells a beautiful story about family, about doing what you enjoy and love - and still wanting to learn more and try new things.
I was gifted with a copy of Macaron Witch and chose to share my thoughts.
Amazing! I love how engaging these stories are and how they seem to fly by as if 16 chapters with an epilogue takes no time to read at all. The feel good vibe alone makes me want to hug myself. Youngest Parke’s sister Hazel has been tasked with teaching a pastry demonstration at her former alumn. Nervous yet eager she relies on the quiet strength of Chef DeRossi’s sous chef Antonio to guide her through her presentation. Of course these two have a connection and some missed communication that emphasizes any good story. However with a good feel vibe this series portrays, Hazel and Antonio learn valuable lessons. As book 2 in the series this does act as a standalone and not imperative to be read in order.

this anthology is a great collection of authors- magic, food and romance come together in tasty and delicious ways!
I especially enjoyed The Macaron Witch by Laura Greenwood.
A magical pastry chef who runs a family bakery with her sisters does a Macaron demo at the cooking school she once attended.
She finds new appreciation for Italian.
Family dynamics, romance and career skills and dreams are explored.
I really enjoy my fun reading proceeds going to good causes, feeding the hungry and Ukraine relief, and I bought this book on Kindle. . I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Hazel agreed to teach a class on how to introduce magice into baked goods, something her family has done for years. She never would have expected to meet the sous chef who assisted her to be the man of her dreams. Antonio is delighted to realize the pretty witch teaching the class doesn't seem to compare his to his famous father. Now he just has to figure out how to keep her in his life. Sweet and clean magical romance with a happily ever after. I think this is a must read book and series. I'm already looking forward to the next book..
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
This is book 2 in the Broomstick Bakery Series. In this one, we follow sweet Hazel as she goes back to her old cooking school to teach a class that her 'baking hero', Chef DeRossi requests her to do. There she meets his handsome sous chef, who also has a special connection to DeRossi.
Baking, cooking, emotions, and lots of feelings follow. Will Hazel get her HEA? What happens when she finds out who Antonio really is? This book has it all and I am loving every word of this series. Book 3 can not come fast enough!.

Hazel comes across sweet as her signature macaroons. I liked the many sides to her that we got to see and I really enjoyed learning how she does her magic baking. Antonio was a perfect combination of sweet, caring, but not a pushover. Learning his quirks was fun. I loved their interactions together and how they handled some sticky situations. I’m having a lot of fun at the Broomstick Bakery and I can’t wait to read more about the sisters and their brother.

This is the story about 2 people who meet at a cooking school where Hazel gives a macaroon cooking demo and meet the dreamy Antonio who works there. This is their story and it was fun, entertaining and a cute clean story where deserts are the main stars. Add in a bit of mistaken identity and a dash of magic infused sweets and I thought it was a great story I read in one sitting as it was hard to put down.
Cooking and magic – it doesn’t get any better than that! Hazel, a witch who works her magic in the kitchen, agrees to demonstrate her sweets by teaching a cooking class. She and sous chef Antonio, whose father is famous, definitely connect over the cooking part. Antonio appreciates that she seems to accept him for the person he is, but will she be upset that he didn’t tell her his real identity?
I read The Macaron Witch by Laura Greenwood. I really enjoyed this light hearted book. It was enjoyable and entertaining. Hazel meets Antonio at the cookery school when she goes there to teach a class about putting magic in your baking. They get to know each other and there is a big misunderstanding but it gets resolved. I would recommend this book and look forward to the next book. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I like Hazel and Antonio story. Such a funny and enjoyable story! The Parks girls are all likeable, just like their cousin Willow. And I’m glad that the two series mingle together, and the characters make apearances in both series. And Ilike the interactions between girls and all working together - is heart welming. Can’t wait to see in which trouble can get the sisters!.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Just imagine what a better world this would be, nay, how MUCH better a world this would be if people ate baked goods that improved our attitudes. Not that I have anyone specific in mind… As long as the sweets were imbued with some kind of exercise enhancement, I’d spend a fortune at the Broomstick Bakery.
This has been my favorite series by this author and I’m only on book #2 (with #3 ‘The Pastry Warlock’ not far behind).
I love stories that have siblings together that get their happily ever afters and this is series is quickly becoming one of my favorites. Book two in Broomstick Bakery focuses on Hazel and Antonio, and it's really adorable. I love seeing Hazel interact with her sisters at the bakery and the relationship with Antonio as they get to know one another. It feels like it could happen in real life and I love it.
