Growing up with a teenage mom who insisted she be raised knowing all about 80’s and 90’s pop culture, Chicana author, Tylor Paige, should have known she’d inevitably write books inspired by that. The fun (rockstars), the hot (Goblin Kings), and the scary (Slashers).

When she’s not writing about girls railing the villains, she enjoys watching horror films, sewing, comic books, and spending time with her writer tribe, Michigan Romance Writers.
At the time of this update Tylor has now written and published Ten full length novels, and is currently pursuing a career in horror romance, where, honestly, she should have been in the first place.

I received a message off this author asking if I would like to hear her idea for this book as she said it was very my vibe and if I liked the idea if I would read and review. Well the pitch was definitely up my street and I agreed to give it a read.
The story follows Desi and Scout, Desi is a member of The Seven Sins, a vampire mafia group who also happens to be cursed following a deal he made with a demon, ten thousand evil souls and Desi’s memories of his life before he turned will return. Scout is an artist who works at the theatre that Desi’s Sin brother owns , Desi soon ended up working at the theatre and he and Scout meet eventually Desi learns that Scout is also cursed having made a deal with a demon herself. Both want to break their curses and both can’t deny the attraction and sexual tension that is between the two.

The story was fast paced and intriguing , keeping me wanting to read more. I loved the bickering and insults that was thrown between Desi and Scout and I love how Scout could hold her own, having the mentality that she doesn’t need anyone to save her and she doesn’t need no prince charming. I liked the use of the tarot cards being what Desi used with his victims and people he met , his victims whichever card they picked was how they died, with people he met, what was in the future for himself and them. The banter was on point, the gory scenes were excellent and the sex scenes were fangtastic. This was the first in this series and I can’t wait to read more. If you’re a fan of PNR with a touch of gore and curses this is definitely the one for you!.

This book was dark in all the ways we love a mafia vampire romance book to be dark 😍 the characters are well developed and I felt I could get to know each one because they each had such well written personalities. I really enjoyed Desi and his tarot cards that was so unique and i look forward to seeing how he gets to use them in the future! 😉 The plot kept me turning the page because I just couldn’t wait to see what would happen next. I loved Desi & the MFC Scouts banter and the fact that Scout wasn’t portrayed as needing to be saved by a man. She’s an artist and she’s brave and her snark it’s top shelf! She could take it and dish it equally. Something else that caught my attention right away was the seven deadly sins being a group of these legendary vamps…This entire book was so different in all the best ways and if you enjoy mafia, vampires, PRN or all of the above like me I recommend this book 100%!!

What more can I ask for in a guy me eats the same candy as me , drinks the same alcohol and has distinguished come to bed eyes. Desi is all those things and even better he’s a Vampire who is part of a Vampire Mafia 🤤
Loved reading this Desi and Scout are perfect the angst Scout feels when her curse was broken made me feel for her she was so messed up getting her memories back. I only buy paperbacks if I love the ebook so as soon as this is available it will be going in my collection the cover alone is 🔥🔥

ARC REVIEW

“I glanced at the clock again and saw we had thirty minutes left. It was then that the smell of cinnamon invaded my senses. My heart stopped beating, and I turned quickly.”

I will never think of fireball candy again without thinking of Desi and him flashing it between his fangs and his stupid grinning smile. He was so easy to love from the very start.

All he wants is to break his curse and remember all that was forgotten and taken from him. The only thing standing in his way… the reality that he needs to deliver 10,000 souls to the demon who cursed him in the beginning. Easier said than done, right? With his tarot cards in tow, no one mark is the same.

Scout needs to break her curse and be free to finally live her dreams of leading a “normal” life and attending art school. She’s had a plan clear from the start and doesn’t need anyone’s help in doing so, but things go awry when Desi gets shoved into her life without warning despite her protest.

Life thrusting them together was never a part of their plan but even if one doesn’t remember the past, it always has a way of coming back around. Will they be able to break their curses and finally be able to get what they want or will it be their downfall?

If you have something to do, set a time because this book will pull you in. I have a thing for cocky men, being a vampire is a bonus. That would be Desi, the main vampire that you will be learning about. (Side note - I'm interesting by tarot cards after reading this) Like vampire woman who are sure of themselves and take no crap? You found it here! Scout is here to keep you going with the banter between her and Desi. Not usually into books like this, I'm more of serial killer chasers myself, but this managed to impress and pull me in!
Set in a modern-day world, you feel you can relate to the characters. An added bonus is the steamy moments. Oh la la

I’m new to this author and read the first three chapters of this book as a taster.
Well Desi is just delicious, he is dark, brooding and mysterious with a lot of sex appeal. Scout is feisty and doesn’t suffer fools gladly, a very likeable heroine. Both strong willed with delightful banter, these too fall into a friendship sizzling with sexual chemistry they both dance around.
I loved this book, the different twist of an elite group of vampires. I loved Desi and Scouts history, the curses and how they both wanted to save their soulmates.
Will be excited to read the next instalment.
Received this book as an arc and I’m leaving a voluntary review.

A must read for fans of shamelessly bloody vamps with a biting kink😈

Both MCs were vampires which I’ve never read but loved. Desiderio was so hot it was sinful. I also loved Scout & her giveth no shit style! Loved the world-building. The Bloodsheds vs the Bloodborns was such a cool & unique concept.

The ongoing curse had me on the edge of my seat questioning the HEA. I also loved trying to guess which vampire represented which of the 7 sins.

Overall this was a pretty wild ride and I really enjoyed how it kept me guessing!

**I received this as an ARC**

This is the first book I have read by this author, and let me just say that they are absolutely amazing!

This story follows Desi and Scout. Desi is one of the 7 members for the vampire mafia group the seven sins. He made a deal with a deamon, and has to kill 10,000 bad souls in order to regain his memories of his life before he turned.

Scout is an artist who works for Desi's brother. When the two of them first meet you can just feel the tension between the both of them. They soo. Realize that they have both been cursed.

If you love PRN, or just specifically vamps, I highly recommend this book.

A refreshing, modern take on Vampires
Reviewed in Canada on March 28, 2022
This is the first book in a new vampire series. I am very much looking forward to the rest of the books in this series. This book does not end in a cliffhanger and has a HEA. The characters are well developed and relatable. The attraction between Desi and Scout is instant and the chemistry undeniable. The bedroom scenes are steamy and there’s lots of action to keep the reader hooked. I really enjoyed how this book is in a modern day setting with lots of playful banter between the two main characters. Very enjoyable and a highly recommended read!

This book just had me at Chapter 1. Desiderio is so my kind of book boyfriend!!! And Scout was so sensitive yet murderous - sad martyr with a little stabby tendencies. This was along the lines of a cult classic movie from the 90’s. Imagine Quentin Tarantino made From Dusk til Dawn a love story with maybe Benicio del Toro and Michelle Rodriguez mixed with a little Natural Born Killers?! This is written by someone who speaks my language! I loved this book. I need this to be a movie!!

This felt like it had a few too many ideas and tried to mix many tropes together. A little messy. Vampire romance in the workplace...hmm. When I see the word 'dark' in the title, I expect much darker things than this book. More than half the book could have been a light Mafia romance if they were drinking tea in cups instead of steaming blood. Other than that, good story, slightly original. A good time reading.

Alrighty, I promise to keep this about as spoiler free as possible.

I happened to stumble across this, due to being friends with the model of the cover. He knew I liked to read and it didn't take much to steer me in this direction. I love a good slow burn romance and oh boy did it deliver! We start off with Desi, who is something within his own right of a Grim Reaper. He's tasked to right some wrongs. Trust me, I could easily go into detail of this but that would spoil too much! Desi is what I would call refreshing AND ravishing. Good grief is he ravishing. You'll have to read to find out.

Then there is Scout - easily my favorite. Scout is someone I would have loved to have worked with and gotten to know. She is also easily the perfect match for Desi. I loved that she wasn't written as some simple damsel in distress. She's got a real knack for living independently and does not hold back any punches. I truly believe she'd make a great role model.

I've even got to point out that both Desi and Scout have an adorable meet-cute. It's not what I would call an insta-love, nor an insta-lust. Which I found insanely refreshing. I'm an avid reader. I know many of the tropes. This is among the lesser known types. Don't expect an easy/simple romance. There were moments I wanted to reach through the pages and thrust those two together, or sneakily send them to a room just so I could lock them in. But knowing Scout, she'd find a way out within two minutes or less. Bahahaha!

My goodness, all in all, it was a wild fun roller coaster ride. I'd really like to see where this could go next. I know this isn't the end! Now I need to go look for cinnamon fireball candies to send to the model.

A refreshing spin on the vampire genre. To say that it is not your typical vampire novel would be the tip of the iceberg... Cursed vampires, a vampire mafia, tarot cards, The seven sin personified (or vampire-ified) oh and SO many cinnamon candies!!
The book starts pulling you in at page one, Desi (Desiderio) is cursed with a task of ridding the world of 10,000 souls, and all without his memories. As one of the vampire mafia's assassins it was a good fit. There are a few rules though... you can never be involved with someone seriously and they can NEVER know about the Seven sins...
Enter Scout, she sassy, she's hot and yup you guessed it she's cursed. Of course Desi wants her, even if she is his best friends girl and despite the fact she knows about the seven sins. The relationship that unfolds has you hooked, they are perfect for each other, and of course it's filled with steam and angst, and misunderstanding. Especially when another vamp is thrown in the mix that could potentially throw a wrench in all of it!!!
I swear at times I muttered to myself "what the heck is Tylor Paige doing to me!!"
I wholeheartedly recommend this book to all vampire readers and to readers in general.
A vampiric masterpiece.
I rate it 5 overflowing bowls of cinnamon candies!!!

Desi is a Bloodborn that thinks all Bloodshed vampires are trash. On his twenty seventh birthday when he became a vampire, he made a mistake and added a curse to his eternal life. He is now closer to breaking his curse because of the help he had from his friends, The Seven Sins.

Scout is a Bloodborn vampire that believes most of her kind are obnoxious. She realises she has been dating a Seven Sin and is attracted to his sexy friend. No one alive knows who the Seven Sins are or which sin they are tied to.

They are both strong willed individuals who won't back down. Scout is not a damsel in distress, she doesn't need to be saved, she can do it herself. She is a sexy, decisive, artist who knows what she wants. Desi is a determined, suductive and brooding Mafia man. They are fighting their own issues and trying to make a life for themselves. Trouble comes knocking for these two and they have difficult decisions to make.

This was a wonderful book that keeps you turning the pages to find out what happens next. This book has plenty of steamy scenes, friendships, arguments, witty banter, action and loyalty. I can't wait for the next book in this series, I need to find out what happens next with Desi and Scout and the rest of the Seven Sins.

The Seven Little Deaths by @tylorpaige

I fell in love with Desi & Scout! The constant back and forth between the two was entertaining. Scout is a strong willed, sassy, smart-mouthed badass and I absolutely adore her! Definity doesn't take shit from anybody.

Loved Desi and his fireball 🍬 and his Tarot cards. I enjoyed how he incorporated them into dwindling down his body count. Got to keep it exciting right?

Both Scout & Desi are on a mission to break their curses but something happens when they both get close. Will they break the curse and find peace? Or are they destined for a not so happy ever after?

Side note: I hated Aleida 🤣 but she was definitely a necessary evil.

Tylor had me guessing the whole book...along with Scout...which sin Desi was. It was fun that Scout tried A LOT to trick Desi into telling her who everyone was. You also got a sneak peek to who the others in the "family" are... I'm guessing we will find out more as the series continues.

Really enjoyed the first book in The Little Deaths Series!

I received an ARC for my honest review. Oh man was this book a wild ride. I really enjoyed it and am definitely looking forward to the next book in this series. The overall story and plot were really good and kept me intrigued through the whole book. I was curious what was going to happen every time I sat down to read. Desi is the MMC and is so likable! He’s an all in or nothing kind of guy and once he meets Scout there is no one else for him. In the first half of the book we get to see a more silly and sweet side of him but then when people start to threaten his happiness he goes pretty feral. Scout is the FMC and is such a great character. She is independent and can handle her own. She’s a feisty one and the banter between her and Desi is great. I am excited to see what happens to them next!

I read this book as an ARC.

The Seven Little Deaths is the first novel in Tylor Paige’s new adult vampire series. The dual perspective follows Desiderio—a vampire a part of the Seven Sins—and Scout—a vampire who works the night shift at a movie theater—as they navigate through romance, managing a movie theater, tarot cards, and curses.

I enjoyed how fast paced the book was, as well as a modern world with the knowledge of vampires. The banter between the main characters was lighthearted and snarky, and the romance and action was dark and sexy. The MCs have a personality of their own, and each of their histories were well developed.

It left me wanting more. I can’t wait for the next installment.

I have never read a vampire book like this and I want more!!
Desi and Scout are like oil and water but I’m the best way possible! Their dynamic together is hilarious and filled with so much tension. I liked how they had come from such different backgrounds and their meet cute was perfection!

Desi is such a complex character who shows this balancing act of who he is as a sin and who he is for his soulmate. I loved seeing his adoration for her and never denying she was the one for him.

Scout is like the perfect badass who is also sweet. I loved her artistic abilities and how it worked seamlessly into the story. She is strong in her own right and I liked her determination to do the right thing.

Also I will never look at cinnamon candies the same ❤️.

This was so good! It’s definitely a little different than Tylor’s other books (The Final Girls series’), but not in a bad way. I’ve been putting this series off for awhile for some unknown reason and finally decided to read it; well technically I asked my boyfriend what I should read next because I couldn’t choose and this is the one he picked lol. It was a new take on vampires that I haven’t read before, but it also had some True Blood vibes (which I LOVED). This book was yanking my brain and my heart all over the place while I was trying to figure out Desi and Scout’s curses. This was great and I’m ready to jump right into book two!

I received an ARC copy of this book in return for an honest review. The book is based around the Seven Sins vampire mafia group the MMC is Desiderio (Desi) whilst working at a movie theatre owned by another Sin meets our FMC Scout. The chemistry is almost instantaneous between them. Both characters are really likeable, they’re witty, strong and fierce (I especially love that in my FMC’s). Desi has a curse to break 10,000 souls for his memory back. This is where things get very interesting. Tylor has put a unique spin on a vampire romance, it’s dark, steamy and delicious! I for one cannot wait to read the rest of this series.

One of the best books I’ve read this year! It was perfection!
Dark vampire romance, forbidden love, gory scenes and lots of sexy spice scenes!
The instant connection they feel for each other, they are so entranced and drawn to each other that nothing else matters. Their chemistry is off the charts.
Scout is a bad bitch! She wants to save herself, she doesn’t need a guy let alone a Prince Charming.
Desi is an AMAZING character, he’s carefree, flirty, sexy and mysterious. I love the banter and they flirting between the two of them.
The spice scenes were delicious! I love when the fangs come out😏
I can’t wait for book 2!

Different kinda vampire story

Tylor pulls you in right in the first pages. Desi belongs to the Seven Sins. A secret society of 7 vampires. As he puts it, they are all bad. He goes to work at a movie theater where he meets Scout. There's definitely chemistry between them. There's some hot sex, angst and even times you want to slap either of them. Desi uses his tarot cards in different ways, but mostly for the vamps he contracted to kill. I really enjoyed this story and the writing is fantastic. Five stars from me. If you are into pnr this is a must read. Waiting for book 2.

This is my first book by this author. I loved both the Main Characters and their back and forth was my favorite part of this book. There seemed to be everything and the kitchen sink thrown into this book. For the first half of the book I was confused, because Desi was using two different names for the missing person and it wasn’t until later in the story that it’s cleared up… I had to reread a few pages to make sure I understood what was going on. I would not consider this a Dark book, but it was still enjoyable read! I’m interested in where this goes for book 2.

I loved this book so much! It had a strong female. Sexy vamps. A curse. A mystery. Plenty of steamy. And moments that had me on the edge of my seat. And it's in a series. I can't wait for more. This is the story about cursed vamps and breaking the curses. It has the tarot card ideology mixed in. Of course, there are always complications. It was such a unique idea. I loved every minute of it. This is the first paranormal romance from this author and she has found her jam! A must-read for vamp romance lovers.

unexpected

I went in thinking one thing about this book and it ended up being something different. The story wasn’t as dark as I thought it might be, but still had a ton of blood that you would expect in a vampire book. I loved the way the author brought in curses and the twist it brought to the plot that connected the two main characters. Even though it wasn’t as dark as I thought it might be it was still super good. I can’t wait to see what’s next for Desi and Scout in the second book.

Another super fun Tylor Paige novel! I love how unique the vampire systems are in this series, it stands out. But I also love that there are vampire equivalents of 7 deadly sins and Tylor used classic vampire stuff (bloody tears, sunlight being super deadly, etc). I discovered Tylor bc of her slasher books but now I've discovered she can do so many sub genres almost effortlessly. Such a great book--spice, hot vampires, emotionally vulnerable characters that you can really sympathize with. What a great start to 2025

While this is a little out of my ordinary genre of books, I normally just read straight smut novels, I loved the Vampire aspect of it. Within the first couple chapters I was in love with Desi. He is smart and sassy, and pairs perfectly with Scout!! They kept me wanting to stay up and read more instead of sleeping every day. Tylor did a great job stepping out of her comfort zone as well with writing and releasing this one. I can’t wait for the next book in the series!!!
