Imagine meeting the woman of your dreams. The chemistry is thick, communication flows, the sex is amazing, but you find out that she is off limits. Bummer right? Danielle Allen shook things up by giving us a MMC who has to choose between his friend and love interest and baby, my emotions were everywhere. Hassan stressed me out, but I can admit I admire the way he patiently made his decision. He gets points for logic and the way he cherished Tiana. The man really has it bad. The real MVP in this book is Tiana. I love her daring and determined personality. The way she demands that Hassan put up or step away had me saying “Yes, Sis!”. She wasn’t trying to wait around looking goofy. I felt this book had a perfect mixture of romance, angst, sex and secondary characters that kept me intrigued and entertained. Speaking of secondary characters, Vic got on my damn nerves and unfortunately, he didn’t get a chance to redeem himself in MY eyes. My only drawback of this book is not getting a conversation between Tiana and Vic. I do respect that she allowed Hassan to handle his shit like a man, however, I still felt that she should’ve had a “where these feelings come from?” conversation with Vic. Overall, Danielle Allen did her thing and I highly recommend it.
