A diatribe against civil service elitism. The writer cum civil servant tried to share his pessimistic view on civil servants being closed caste and condescension. Though the initial pages evoked flamboyancy, the middle portions faltered and become too mainstream. Nevertheless the author's bonafide rants and eloquent skills deserves acclaim.

The Book is really an insight of the current structure of Civil Services in India. A civil service aspirant must read this book before they start for the preparations.
I was really amazed of how bad the system of India has become, it gave true shape of the corrupt Indian system and how good people have no say the working of the system.
It seems like we don't just merely need good people in the system, but an entire new system that does not depend on the "Goodness or Evil" of people working, but a self-sustained system.
Yes, we need Change not of people but of system.

Rants of a highly frustrated Civil Servant! The arguments put are effective and the flow of thoughts is impeccable! The author prefaces the text by focusing his anger towards Civil Service elitism however he ends up eulogising his exploits in the service, which kind of fails the premise of the book! A fun read, not to be taken seriously!!

Castigation of the elite generalist

The book makes the case that the IAS made up of generalists is outdated for the present setup and it's law enforcement or executive powers should be hived off. Amusing read

Take on civil service

It has a philosophical take on decaying public service in India. A somewhat eye opener for civil service aspirants. A good read for those aspirants.
