Across the State in Eight: A Bankhead Highway Adventure

Today, I set out on an eight day trip across Texas. My mission is to to seek out the remaining pieces of the old road - while staying as true as possible to the original route. I will also be looking for interesting histories and unique people along the way. I hope you will join me as I attempt to satisfy my curiosity. In the next eight days, the bike and I will explore over 900 miles of highway, four regions of climate and geographic diversity, community revitalization and decomposition, while searching for what is left of my little road - some good breakfasts.
