Jack I’m the quiet one. The one everyone respects…but secretly fears. They should. I’ve seen the darkness in the world—and it has slowly bled into me until not even a glimmer of light remains. The women who come to Sanctuary are in need of someone to rescue them. It’s my job to protect them. To send the monsters who terrorize them back into the abyss they slithered out of. Everyone thinks Max is the crazy MC brother. But they haven’t seen what I’m capable of when it comes to protecting those too weak to protect themselves. Then she was dropped at Sanctuary’s doorstep. Broken. Bleeding. Alone. When she looked up at me with fear in her pretty eyes, I knew the darkness hadn’t completely taken hold of me. I still had a little bit of humanity left. And it was all hers.

Sanctuary was the twelfth book in the Angel’s Halo MC Second Generation by Terri Anne Browning. Although more enjoyable in order, Sanctuary can be read as a standalone.

Jack was the son to Hawk and Grace (Guardian Angel, original series). He was quiet, brooding and scary to most. He was also the protector for his mother’s shelter, Sanctuary. It was where abused women and children went to get away from the abusers. Nisha had a tough childhood and it got worse when she was raped, beaten and left for dead at the gates of Sanctuary. The shadows were in her nightmares and her only solice was the gentle bear that saved her and never left her side until she was on the mend.

I thoroughly enjoyed both characters as well as the plot. It was a quick storyline, getting to the relationship and conflicts quickly. Definitely not a slow build. I also enjoyed the involvement of all of the MC, both generations. As typical with this series, they were all prominent to the storyline. I did, however, desire a bit more depth and dimension, especially with the main antagonist - the background was given, but I wanted more detail and time spent with the exploration and development. Otherwise, it was another great addition to the series. The final book of the second generation is up next with Elias and Samara and I can’t wait!

Okay

I had high hopes for this book. In my opinion the MC next gen is better than the rockers. This book was ok. There was a death that seemed like it was mistakenly done but there was no remorse. I didn't understand the fmc about her dad...did she know him? It was just jumbled. I guess maybe I just didn't know.
I liked Jack. His character was pretty good. It didn't seem like as much thought and heart went into these books as others. One more book and the series will be over. I have to say I won't miss it. The author was always a pre order, one click, watching the calendar till the next book came out. Not anymore. I thought long and hard before I got this one. I should have left it alone. I know there are still die hard fans out there and I am glad. Every author needs them...I am not one anymore.

ETA...I am sorry my review seems like its everywhere. I never want anything I write to discourage anyone. This is just my opinion. I have read glowing reviews about some books and when I read them I thought...huh???
This author has a huge following and I am glad. I wish every author would have fans. They put their heart and soul into books. Thank you!

Sanctuary by Terri Anne Browning is book 12 in the Angels Halo MC Next Gen and at times it is quite a dark read! We’re introduced to Nishia in quite an emotional way when she is dumped and left bleeding and broken outside of Sanctuary, a place where women can go who have experienced violence and which is owned by Jack’s mum and Jack himself. We find out through Nishia and her trauma the life she has led with her mum and how/why something bad has happened to her.

Throughout it all is her bear Jack who, although doesn’t like many other people, has an instant attraction to Nishia. Even though sometimes they have some mixed communications, the two are just perfect for each other. Jack can be Nishia’s protector and Nishia helps to quiet Jack’s demons.

There are parts of this book that are bloody and violent (due to the topic that the book is about), but there is also suspense, characters that protect what is there’s and a lot of love. Moments where little Molly pops up help to break up the seriousness of what characters are going through and the new family that Nishia make, help her to overcome her trauma and build something new. Jack’s darkness is interesting and the lengths that he will go to not only to protect Nishia but others too.

As I haven’t read any of the other books in this series, I didn’t know where all of the characters fit, but it didn’t take away from how much I enjoyed the book and the suspense and twist and turns it has in it.

It was definitely a slow burn romance, but once Nishia and Jack ignite, they blow up! If you like your MC characters flawed, a little grumpy but with a heard of gold, then you’re going to enjoy this book!

This book was okay. I feel like I am continuing on with this series because I have read most of them already and I just want to finish it out. I remember the beginning series being much better with more emotion and drama but I also read them years ago before I have experienced a lot of dark romance so I might change my mind now if I read them again.

Jack is the protector of Sanctuary, a women’s shelter founded by the MC he is a part of. Nishia is abused and dropped off at the boundary of the shelter to be found. When Jack saves her, he is drawn to her right away and she trauma bonds to him. The two instantly fall in love and have to solve the mystery of Nishia’s appearance.

This book was very insta-love. I felt like because of that there was not a lot of need for the rest of the story as they were already so into each other. The story was interesting but there were just too many twists and turns and I kind of lost interest in the story. I find that I am not really interested in the insta-love stories anymore. I want a little more depth to my romance.

Dark and Amazing

This book was much darker in theme then the previous ones that Terri has written but it was no less amazing then the others. I love getting to see how the next generation of Angels grew up and they have all exceeded my expectations. I will be sad when this series is complete.

I need more!

Jack and Nishia’s story was amazing. It had an emotional start but his love for her was oozing off the pages. The nicknames they had for each other were adorable. The ending though, whhhhyyyyyyyy did it end there? I can’t wait for Elias’ story. Hopefully my question will be answered. This series has been as awesome as the first. Everyone needs to read these books.

Silencing his monster

When Nashia ends up outside of Sanctuary Jack immediately feels connected to her. Never in his life has anything helped keep his monster at bay, until her.

I wanted to give you a few of my thoughts 💭. I found this book to be a Flight of Five (5⭐️) especially where my emotions were concerned. The gems of supporting characters that lended an ear to help tell the story of Jack and Nisha’s wild romance.

My quick thoughts are:
-Dark Romance
-Motorcycle Club/Mafia
-Assault (Abuse)
-Betrayal
-Age Gap
-Kidnapped (Abandoned)
-Emotional Scars
-"Burn the World for Her”
-Possessive
-Reluctant/Dark Hero

There is so much packed into this beautiful story that had been thinking of the family dynamic that seems to remind us of the constant debate between nature and nurture. Jack is such a story morally grey book boyfriend who will do anything to protect the ones he loves. Nisha is craving the chance for a better life but when fate’s dark hand breaks down the door in the middle of the night the last thing she thought she’d find through this creepy shadows is a better life in the end.

Emotional.

Jack’s story with Nishia had me hooked. Such a lovely story and so heartbreaking. Little Molly was so cute.

There was some surprises I did not see coming. Can’t wait to get Samara’s story.
