What’s Tan to do when he has to reclaim a holy sword he can’t touch? Call upon his White Knight to save him.
What’s Devan to do when he learns the sword was stolen in order to defeat Tan? Save the poor fools from utter annihilation.
Tan is not amused by this quest line. Devan can’t stop laughing.

Tan’s turn to need help, what are they teaching these adventurers?, I’m not saying baby adventurers are stupid, but if you put a candle next to their ears their eyes will shine, Tan has all the plans, Devan laughs for the first time, Tan loves it, even if it’s at his expense, Tan is banned from Osedon Conclave, for reasons, Tan disguises himself as a girl, also for reasons, no one likes to be drowned, no one, even magic swords knows who’s boss
AJ Sherwood believes in happily ever afters, magic, dragons, good men, and dark chocolate. She often dreams at night of delectable men doing sexy things with each other. In between writing multiple books (often at the same time) she pets her cats, plays with her dogs, and attempts insane things like aerial yoga.
She currently resides in Tennessee with aforementioned cats, dogs, and her editor/best friend/sister/partner in crime.
Part 3 of the series was fun, but somewhat less so than the previous parts.
This one also felt shorter and a tad less exciting, with the main action here being Devan and Tan trying to retrieve a magical Sword of the Sea stolen by a band of young, idiotic adventurers.
The plot twist behind the Quest was pretty funny, though. I didn't see that one coming, but it made me really laugh.
I'd rate this one at around 3.25 stars and will continue on with part 4 next.

“Be still, huh?” Tan’s eyes sparkled outrageously. “Sounds like something I’d say.” Aw shit. That had been a Tan line. “You’re a corruptive influence.” “Why darling, if you give me such compliments without warning, they’ll go straight to my head!”
"On a scale from one to ten, how bad is your crush?" "Three hundred, thanks for asking."
I simply adore Tan and his patience to wear down Devan with his affection. And to witness Devan slowly falling for Tan is awesome, too.
Who knew I'd enjoy silly banter and slow burn during quests and fights for the MCs' lives?
4,5 stars rounded up because the series is getting better and better (translation: Devan is slowly crumbling, missing Tan when he's not around, calling Tan "sweetheart" when he is around 🥰)
Oh sweet Tan. I am so addicted. Just now I thought ... "only 6 parts?, but I need my daily fix of it, that's not acceptable, that it will soon be over 😭😭😭". In the third part of the adventure, the action falls a bit flat, but that's not what I'm here for. Basically, it's all about Tan and Devan getting closer to each other ... slowly oh so slowly. And still so cute and dreamy.
“Your SCD is flaring up again?” Tan beamed at him. Look at his knight, being so cute while playing along. “Darling, you understand me so well! I do have flare ups from time to time. You’ll help me, won’t you?” “Do I get a choice in this?” “Why would you ever turn down cuddles from the fabulous me?”
4.5 stars. Audiobook. Fun and satisfying. Rated as a whole, series of novellas that I read all bundled together. Seamless transition from one installment to another. Big bad quirky wizard and palace knight go on adventures, great us-against-the-world vibes. Magic, portals, high fantasy, great world building, great writing. I adore that the hugely powerful wizard is actually bad a$$ and uses his power in the story. Immensely quirky, lovely shenanigans, excellent slow burn romance. Perfect amount of romance, story and spice. Thoroughly enjoyed.
HEA, m/m, high fantasy, low angst, low drama, medium spice, magic, knight.
so sweet. I'm liking how Devan is giving in and using any excuse to leave the castle. It was funny that Tan was the one being targeted. Curious how the princess is going to cross the line. I need more of Wells and Fa.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
The good + Devan acknowleding his growing feelings for Tan + Tan's pouts + Devan treating both Tan and the magic sword like disobedient puppies + Devan using any excuse he can find to see Tan + Tan's boundless confidence in pursuing Devan + Only one horse + Tan being so chill about his powers + Devan seriously considering Tan's offer to elope
The neutral o I had no idea what SCD meant, but I think it was Severe Cuddle Deficiency or something like that?
The bad - Devan's loyalty is clearly to the people, not to the princess. Shouldn't he realize the princess' existence is not in the people's best interest and he should pick the people's (Tan's!) side?
Quotes x "On a scale of one to ten, how bad is your crush?" "Three hundred, thanks for asking."
Could these characters be any sweeter? The grumpy/sunshine dynamic between these two is so fun! I'm in love with their every interaction, their banter, and the wacky adventures they find themselves a part of. In this book, Tan and Devan are in search of a magical sword.
I enjoyed the fact that they were in a new town, that Tan was using some new magic, and that Devan was fighting the very endearing temptation right in front of him.
Am I the only one who finds it hilarious how quickly our heroes dispatch the dumdums who think they have what it takes to best them?
There's more hilarity, some action, and Tan couldn't stop flirting to save his life.
This was so much fun! The banter is *chef kiss* and the chemistry is just the best! It may be that this was the right book at the right time, but following Dev and Tan while they go around gallivanting and flirting was just so much fun! It is precious. It is delightful. And it is so so cute! And now I am looking forward to the next installment because I can't wait to see what these two will do next! (And, also, I really hope they find a way to take Serenity out of the picture because she is the worst!)
Another fun installment of this story. There was more focus on Devan this time. I really feel for him. He's stuck between a rock and a hard place. His duties are suffocating him but he feels responsibility towards the crown, yet with Tan, he can be free. Tan doesn't even have to work too hard to get Devan to soften. Just being himself and allowing Devan to have the freedom to be his true self, is enough. I'm loving watching them fall in love
This series is so much fun -- silly, cracky, hilarious, charming fun!
It's a super enjoyable light read!
I love Tan so much!
The transitions between the books in the series are really well done. Although I wouldn't consider them standalone books, each one transitions and works well as it's own episode, and the overall story is wonderful.
"Dammit, Tan," he whispered, feeling his eyes burn with frustrated tears. "You make me want things I can't have. What am I to do with you?"
I enjoyed the adventure in this one - chasing after a was quite fun, and the twist - where the adventurers were headed - made me laugh out loud! It seems our bold knight might finally be coming around to our lovable sorcerer's attentions. I look forward to the day Deven finally gives the Princess too! One can hope anyways..
I love this story! I wait with bated breath for each installment. Seriously I count the days. Anyway, Devan and Tan are such a delight! I don’t think Devan is going to be able to hold out much longer! AJ Sherwood certainly knows how to write a cracky crazy and wonderful fantasy story.
Not my favorite installment of this series (the plot was a little more shoved to the side, I think 3 of the 9 chapters focused on it) but it was still really cute and I look forward to more.
Another emergency for Devan and another step closer to his HEA with Tan! I love how adorable these two are, with Tan flirting outrageously and Devan trying to ignore it. I'm not binging them yet, but it's getting harder to stretch out the anticipation with each Miracle. So cute!
