From USA Today Bestselling author Fiona Davenport comes an age-gap, forced proximity, only one bed, sports romance with wide receiver who’ll go the distance for the woman who’s meant to be his.
Most professional football players didn’t appreciate being traded, but Clay Hensen was happy for the chance to play with his best friend again. With his new home under renovation, they were going to be roommates for the summer. At least until his friend fell head over heels, forcing Clay to find another place to live.
When the new couple insisted he use her apartment, the hunky wide receiver wasn’t thrilled about living with a stranger. But after he met his new roommate, Clay had no qualms about using their proximity to his advantage. Whatever it took to make Marleigh his.

Need a palate cleanser with an OTT protector who’s all about his woman DECADES into the future? One who even protects his kids (ahem specifically his daughters)? Well then you came to the right place.
Clay’s (28?) roommate Jordan (book 3 H) tells him he needs to move out cause his gf (book 3 h) is moving in. Clay, wide receiver, needed a temporary place to stay while his place was getting renovated, which was why he was staying with Jordan, his teammate, but now he’ll be staying with Jordan’s girlfriends roommate, Marleigh (kind of like a roommate swap).
Marleigh (19? 20?) is busy with college and her internship working for a fashion show. When Clay shows up, she’s completely smitten. Things ignite. Having a hot as f roommate never felt so good 😉.
Oh this was a short 🔥 treat. Clay becomes obsessed with his curvy roommate, and she can’t stop starring at his… pecs? 😈👀. Things heat up quickly… insta love at its finest.
It was ALMOST a surprise v book (womp womp), but it was still delicious to read. I mean. Clay loooves to eat a nutritious breakfast 💁🏻♀️😮💨🔥 and well, Marleigh has no complaints… only lots of Os 🥵💦.
And… he’s also obsessed with Br€€ding his woman 😈. I love me a man with no commitment issues 💅 he’s gotta do what he’s gotta do to tie his woman down 💁🏻♀️.
We also get to see characters from book 3.
Wish it was longer, maybe meeting their families or other people that aren’t necessarily from the previous books, but… eh… it’s a short novella 🤷🏻♀️.
Overall, I loved his dirty mouth, his sweetness, he’s OTTness, and his stamina.
Plus. The darn epilogues always make me all gooey inside 🥹❤️.
⚠️ safety squad⚠️ -no cheating/sharing/owd/omd -virgin h/H hasn’t been with anyone in years -light somnophilia/praise kink/marking/biting -no condoms (breeding) -HEA/EPILOGUES (years and decades later)
Another swoony winner! It had everything I’ve come to expect and love from a fiona Davenport story: sizzling steam, a crazy insane hero totally gone for the heroine, his every possessive and caveman instinct awakened and a sweet, innocent heroine who is strong enough to tame the beast and bring him to his knees. And I freakin LOOOOOVED how intent he was to get her preggers!! So delicious!!!!
Safe. Hero’s past isn’t mentioned except to say he’s been celibate for a while, not interested in women only after a payday. Heroine is a virgin and belongs only to her hero. No others, no cheating or sharing or abuse. HEA with epilogue.
3.4 stars. Short, sweet, insta-love. It was the perfect little novella to speed through. Plus there were really fun tropes in this. I’m almost certain(don’t quote me) the this was age gap. There was the one-bed trope.
That might’ve been it. But trust me, they were enough.
It was hot, and steamy, and I really loved the MMC.
Go Deep was a quick, insta-love, one bed, age gap, forced proximity, sports romance novella. This was a fast-paced, steamy read with no external conflict. It was overall a very fun, hot, sweet read with a swoon worthy alpha and the perfect read to get me back into the reading mood. I loved the sexual tension and the attraction between the two characters. The spice was off the charts!
I contemplated not finishing this novella, but I couldn’t bring myself to do it because I needed to know it got better…. it didn’t. I received this as an ARC and I assumed it was a typical book - so the fact that I finished it in an hour and a half on a flight from Chicago to Phoenix alarmed me. And then I realized Fiona Davenport typically writes novellas and it made much more sense.
Tropes seen? Age gap, forced proximity due to temporary roommates, sports romance, miscommunication, surprise pregnancy, and insta-love.
The follows Clay and Marleigh. Clay is a professional football player in his late 30’s. Marleigh is a student who lives with her best friend. Clay was living with this best friend for a couple of weeks while his house is being renovated after joining a new football team. Except, his best friend starts dating a girl and wants her to move in instead. So Clay and the girl swap places to live, leaving Clay to now live with Marleigh. After 5 minutes of meeting, he’s calling her baby and just felt way too predatory for me. She’s also a virgin and after he takes her virginity, they have sex like 15 times in the next 2 days and it just didn’t feel realistic. And he was hoping to get her pregnant, not once bringing up birth control or condoms - he waited until AFTER they had sex and basically made the comment that he’s working to put a baby in her, without her permission. So overall, this was just a big ass NO for me.
I take notes on my phone while reading so that I can complete decent reviews. My notes for this novella were almost longer than the actual novella. I found myself asking “what the fuck did I just read” and even used the red flag emoji a couple of times.
This is the fourth story in the Nighthawk series and I loved it 😍😍😍😍 Clay has to leave his buddys apartment (his girlfriend moved in) and now stays with the former girlfriends former roommate. What should only be two awkward weeks quickly turned into so much more🥰🥰 As soon as Clay saw Marleigh his whole life changed . He finally found his One and nothing and nobody can stop him from claiming his woman 🥰🥰🥰 Instalove, sweet, fun to read, steamy, alpha male goodness, romantic and safe with an awesome HEA and no drama 😍😍😍😍😍 Can't wait for Roans story👍
This was actually pretty good until the 5-second "conflict" where the heroine turns out to not have any brains at all and assumes that the Hero has another woman he wants to be with...because she overheard him say "my dream woman" on the phone. 😑🔨
Es un libro muy bello y me encanta un monton 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
This book was a lot… and not in a good kind of way.
First, there was the overuse of the word ‘baby’ as a term of endearment. Under normal circumstances, I could manage to overlook that. But then there was instalove, to the nth degree. Coupled with the MMC wanting to impregnate a woman a mere 2.4 seconds after meeting her. So began the cringe and the feeling never left me throughout the rest of the book.
Let it be known, I actually didn’t mind the meet-cute. The premise was there. The execution was lacking though and 💛💛 is all I can manage for this read.
This is a quick, spicy read between an inspiring fashion designer in college and an older football player. Certain circumstances happen that cause them to live together and it is insta-love! I like how he fell for her first and hard, but it was immediate sexy time without much relationship building. Just a personal opinion but when there is a clueless virgin and/or pregnancy that is an ick for me. I know some readers like that, but I personally don't.

man i love Fiona Davenport's books i don't even need to read reviews before reading her books because i know it will be safe with no manwhores no cheating and with a delicious smut, always a good quick read
Okay this was a quick, steamy read that’ll be perfect for anyone looking to get out of a slump!!
I haven’t read many books that have a breeding kink but that was a vibe 👀👀👀
Marleigh & clay are forced to be roommates, but as soon as they meet, they are INSTANTLY attracted to one another. They have some next level sexual tension, and when their time comes… whew 🔥🔥🔥
Spice:🌶🌶
Tropes: Insta-love Age gap Forced proximity One bed Roommates Breeding kink Virgin FMC
A smutty, insta-love novella, perfect for when you just want a quick read with spice.
Clay is forced to move in with a stranger after his bestfriend moves in his new girlfriend, but as soon as he sees Marleigh he's determined to Use it to his advantage.
With it being a short novella, everything happens fast and I always wish for more, but I really enjoyed the epilogues for a glimpse into their future ❤️
I love this series and this writing duo so much! This series is full of spice, great characters, and a fun sports romance connection! I am loving this world and can’t wait to read more about this football team and the women who change their lives!!!
This novella was so sweet and steamy. I loved the tiny angst and the misunderstanding. Both hero and heroine were adorable and perfect together. Epilogue with their kids was heartwarming. Another winner from Fiona Davenport.
I didn’t realize this book was short enough to be considered a novella so I was a little off-put at the rushed and limited set up in the beginning of the story. Once I realized the length, it was a little easier to overlook the haste and enjoy the story for what it was.
Having not read the three books prior, I wasn’t convinced that the MMC, Clay, and his friend Jordan were actually best friends. The relationship just didn’t have any meat to it but other than the beginning, Jordan really isn’t mentioned so I guess it doesn’t quite matter. Jordan seemed rude and off putting and Clay seemed to be a paper flying in whatever direction the wind took him. I do wonder if it would have improved my experience had I read the others first.
I would have really enjoyed this if the novel was full length and I got to see relationships between the characters, the life of each, and those little details that make them feel real.
Moving beyond that and accepting the craziness that is true love in less than 200 pages, Clay and Marleigh were cute. Clay wasted no time in pursing Marleigh and despite my frequent “wtf” thoughts at the pace (specifically Clay’s usage of intimate nicknames and his “can’t hold back anymore” comment mere hours after meeting her) they were a fun couple. Clay was the type of considerate we want our book boyfriends to be. The breeding kink was an unexpected addition to the storyline that I was fully on board for.
The epilogues were too cute. I enjoyed the glimpse into their lives years down the road.
While there were books before this and there will be more to come, I’m happy with experiencing the Nighthawks series through this book only.
Marleigh didn't plan on living with pro-football quarterback Clay Hensen, but that doesn't mean she won't enjoy ogling him every chance she gets. Even though she's a virgin, she can't help but desperately want him every time they're near each other. She knows he's only there living with her for two weeks while his new house is renovated, so Marleigh is determined to make the best of the next 14 days, especially since there's no way their relationship will last longer than that.
Clay Hensen didn't plan to fall head over heels for Marleigh when she opened the door to his new home for the next two weeks, but as soon as he saw her standing in the doorway, he knew she was his forever. He just has to convince her of that little fact. Clay loves how sweet and shy Marleigh is, and just can't get enough of her company. He knows they're moving quickly, but he can't stand the idea of not having her in his life. He doesn't want to scare her off by saying the L-word out loud just yet, but he hopes that his actions are enough to convince her. Will Marleigh and Clay be able to turn their two-week romance into the real deal? Or is love at first sight just a gimmick?
I loved this book! My only complaint is that I wish it was longer! I'll definitely be checking out the first three books, as well as continuing with the series. This was the perfect book to read at the start of football season (aka my favorite time of the year). If you're looking for a quick, steamy, adorable read, Go Deep is definitely a great place to start!
Tropes: Roommate x unexpected roommate Insta love Possessive grouchy grumpy alpha receiver hero Hot sexy badass curvy innocent heroine with a slight temper… hehe HEA and kids Man’s got a good breeding kink Not afraid to go after what he wants Little bit grumpy x sunshine
If you like smut with little to no plot this one’s for you. It’s also good for getting out of reading slumps.
He has to move in with Jordan his mate due to his house being under renovations but Jordan now has a girlfriend so he has to move out and he moves in with Jordan’s girlfriend, Wrenley’s best friend. He does and when he first sees her he’s taken back a bit. They have a good relationship till the heat is too much and an unexpected leak in the house caused her to sleep in his bed so he claimed her as his over and over again. She ends up pregnant and she’s happy and he’s on the phone with the contractor talking about the closet being made for his dream woman and she simultaneously thought it wasn’t her so she get mad and misconnected the two things and he finally told her that he loves her and was talking about her on the phone. So yeh they are married and have 4 kids, Kat, Benson, Gideon, and Elyse who seems to attract nothing but trouble with boys haha.
Go Deep is the fourth installment in The New York Nighthawks series by Fiona Davenport. This is a standalone instalove steamy sports romance novella. Clay Henson is recently traded to the NY Nighthawks football team and temporarily needs a place to stay while his new home is undergoing renovations. His best friend’s girlfriend offers her apartment she shares with her friend, Marleigh. Clay certainly doesn’t want to stay in a hotel for the next couple of weeks and decides to take advantage of the offer. He reluctantly moves in with Marleigh but any reservations he had are thrown right out the window when he meets his beautiful new roommate. It is love at first sight for Clay and he plans to claim his woman. Marleigh may be a shy virgin, but Clay brings out her wild side. Clay is solely focused and devoted to Marleigh. He’s completly over-the-top with jealousy, possessiveness, and dominance. The *PERFECT* book boyfriend!
Readers that love high steam instalove sports romances with an OTT alpha and an innocent heroine will devour this novella! Be prepared to fan yourself from all the heat! ;)
Look! If this was my first ever romance, insta love short story I would have definetly given it 4 or even 5 stars. But its not So let me be clear that my review is for the readers who read hundreds of similar stories "Spoilers ahead" 🚩
So here are my issues 1- why do we get a full blown backstory of the ML and almost nothing for the FL? Do you really need to higglight the alpha male? 2- met you first day fucked you the next is not how to portray an insta love, especially if you are a virgin 3- the whole "I wont tell him I'm not a virgin so he wont reject me" is really another way of body shaming. Why would anyone be ashamed of still bei g a virgin? Its a choice after all 4- speaking of choices, "I wont tell her i will knock her up to keep her" is NOT how you respect and love your woman. Making a baby as an excuse to sustain a relationship and trap a parter is a No No 5- and how dumb was Marleigh when she got pregnant after 3 weeks of unprotected sex!! She even said "How did this happen?"
I do hope writers would write better plot than this
If you want a super quick read, that contains instalove with an Alpha Male, this is your jam. This is part of a series that surrounds men on a football team, each falling like flies to the women of their dreams. All the smut, not a whole lot of storyline. There is two epilogues to show the ending though, so there is that. I love me some smut, don’t get me wrong. I just like a good storyline to go with it, and I feel like 2/3 of it was smut. I just want a bit more of the story fleshed out.
Things I liked: 🏈 smutty, dirty read 🏈 Alpha Male 🏈 female dedicated to her career
Things I didn’t like: 🚩short, could have used more details in the storyline. Because it jumped right in I didn’t really feel like I got to know either of the main characters that well. 🚩 unprotected s3x without conversations. They did talk about pregnancy very slightly, but no mention of testing. After literally 2 days. Maybe it’s because I’m a nurse but I’m sitting here going 😬😬😬 girl noooooo
This is book number 4 of The New York Nighthawks series and focuses on Clay and Marleigh. We met these two in book number 3 when both of their best friends, Jordan and Wrenley, got together. Clay had been staying with Jordan for a bit while his house was under renovations but when Jordan officially got together with Wrenley, he informed Clay that he will now be staying with her best friend and roommate. He is initially put out and unhappy about it but his mood changes the instant he sets his eyes on Marleigh. He knows the instant he sees her that she is his and that he has finally found the woman of his dreams. They were absolutely perfect together! This was an excellent story and an excellent addition to the series!
I received a free copy of this book via the author and am voluntarily leaving a review.
When Jordan kicks Clay out of his apartment so that he can bring Wrenly home, Clay checks into a hotel. The home he bought won't have the renovations done for another 2 weeks. When Wrenly tells him to move into her apartment, Clay's first reaction is to tell no but he knows that Jordan would kick his a$$ for making Wrenly unhappy so he reluctantly says yes. Marleigh knew that when her roommate and bestfriend Wrenly didn't come home after the gala thar obviously she had a great time. But, when she calls her the next day to say that no only was she moving out but that Jordan's bestfriend would be moving in, she wasn't sure what to think. As soon as Marleigh opened the door, Clay knew that he had found his future. I can't wait to read Roan's story!!!
