Rate this book
Nothing was worse than waking up as a squirrel. Not knowing where she is, why she's a squirrel, and why she should be in Georgia comes a close second.

Vicky does know several important things. First, she's not supposed to be a squirrel. Second, two-legger males are intriguing creatures. Third, she likes one particular two-legger male more than the others, and she means to keep him.

Finding her true self is only the beginning. Vicky must hunt those who have taken her friends and ruined her hopes for the future so she can reclaim what is rightfully hers.

Finished with being a victim, Vicky will do everything in her power to put an end to Basin once and for all, even if it means she must make the ultimate sacrifice and bite a silver bullet for the sake of her family, her friends, and the rest of the supernatural world.

RJ Blain suffers from a Moleskine journal obsession, a pen fixation, and a terrible tendency to pun without warning.

When she isn't playing pretend, she likes to think she's a cartographer and a sumi-e painter. In reality, she herds cats and a husband, and obeys the commands of Tsu Dhi, the great warrior fish.

In her spare time, she daydreams about being a spy. Should that fail, her contingency plan involves tying her best of enemies to spinning wheels and quoting James Bond villains until she is satisfied.

Re-read. I wonder how different things would be if Jackson was found earlier. Likely things wouldn’t work out the same. I liked Vicky as a squirrel and how attached Elliot got, the same with the fox. Thankfully no plane accidents this time around. Richard really needs a break. I liked how Elliot and Vicky finally get their act together.

I enjoyed Vicky's second story more than her first. Jumps straight into trouble and I liked how quickly the two joined up again, rather than dragging it out. A bit of memory loss, violence, death and two missing main characters of the series. I felt sorry for Richard, he gets put through so much. I liked all the characters and their antics, nice rounded ending. Favourites in the series were Blood Diamond, Beneath a blood moon and then this one.

Simply Amazing

Waited a long time for this release and it was worth it! It gave me the closure I needed, but left me a little sad that the book ended. RJ Blain delivered a fantastic story that finally gave us the answers we craved.

Vicky, a Fenerec wakes to find that she is now a squirrel. She has no idea why she is now squirrel as she is not supposed to be one. Vicky vows to find out who turned her into a squirrel and why.

Vicky as a squirrel makes her way to a two-legger creatures home. Two-legger creatures are fascinating to Vicky why she is not sure. But this one Vicky really likes and she plans on keeping him.

Vicky makes her way to Elliot Anderson’s home where he finds her in his pool. He sweeps her out as he doesn’t want to see her drown. Elliot has a soft heart. Elliot takes her in the house, dries her off with a towel to keep her from freezing. Elliot makes Vicky a nice little warm bed in a basket with a soft cuddly blanket.

Vicky makes her way up to Elliot’s bedroom during the night while he is sleeping. Vicky wants to watch over him to make sure he is safe but she falls asleep all snuggled up to his neck. She awakens the next morning to a sound coming from downstairs. She tries to wake her two-legger to warn him some is in the house. About the time Elliot wakes there is another two-legger standing in the bedroom at the foot of the bed looking down at them. This two-legger is Richard the Alpha of their pack the Yellow-knife pack in Canada.

Richard helps Vicky to turn back into a human. The process takes a very long time and is painful for her. Vicky has been missing for a while. Elliot’s brother, Jackson and Nicole, Richard’s mate is also missing. Vicky, Jackson and Nicole were all together when they went missing but Vicky has no idea what happened to her or her friends.

Richard, Elliot and Vicky try to piece together what may have happened to Vicky. Their list of suspects soon dwindles down with only a few suspects left on it. Finally Vicky makes a connection with a friend of hers who has custody of her puppies. When she checks she finds that her friend Mark has her puppies and they are missing too. Vicky almost loses it but Richard and Elliot help her keep it together long enough for them to hopefully find her puppies.

Where are the puppies? Where are Jackson and Nicole? Who took them? What do they want with them? Poor Jackson someone is always kidnapping him for one reason or another.

Silver Bullet is filled with action from the first page like all the other books in the Witch & Wolf series. The witches and wolves keep you on your toes as someone is always missing.

I just love how all the pack members take care of each other and always has each others back. They always put their own lives before someone else. As with all the books the twists just keep coming and never lets up. The suspense alone is enough to keep you hanging on wanting to know how it all turns out.

I love this world of the Witch & Wolves and all the characters. I love how they interact with each other. I love their personalities. I love how they lose it when their mate is in trouble. The love and compassion is so thick you can feel it coming off the pages.

I would recommend Silver Bullet to all fans of witches and werewolves with lots of action and a whole lot of love. One click your copy of Silver Bullet today! Be sure and check out the rest of the Witch & Wolf series as well.

I was graciously given the ARC to Silver Bullet by the author in exchange for nothing. I'm still going to give my review because I need to yell at the author.

RJ Blain is evil. She broke my heart. She yanked it out and gutted me. She kills people off with no warning, and then she makes you grief together with her by writing bits that makes you miss the character(s).

Before you read this book, I highly encourage you to re-read Witch & Wolf Omnibus to recap the characters. If you don't have time, just Inquisitor and Blood Diamond. Silver Bullet can be read as a standalone but if you read it as a series, you'll really appreciate the plot much better.

Silver Bullet starts with Vicky suffering bits of amnesia. Something terrible happened to Jackson, Nicole and her but she cannot remember exactly what and who did it. She doesn't know if they are still alive but she's trying very hard to find them. (Maybe RJ killed them. Maybe she didn't. You can never tell with her.)

If you have read Blood Diamond, you'll know RJ has been hinting about Vicky in the direction of Anderson. Silver Bullet sees the development of their relationship but where does that leave the charismatic Markus? How did Vicky work out her relationship with Markus? Does Markus gets his own HEA with another character?

Sometimes we want to root for the underdog, because RJ's characters are multi-faceted. You fall in love with her bad guys because she gives them a chance to be good. It's the real world. Heroes often have to make decisions for the greater good, even if it means hurting some others in the process. Sometimes it might even mean death. Sometimes villains make bad decisions which they regret and they try to redeem themselves in exchange for forgiveness. That's the thing about RJ's characters in this series. They are not entirely predictable. She gives them this possibility to turn themselves around. So if you read Silver Bullet on its own, you won't get the wholeness of the characters. You have to read the series in order to appreciate her work.

This is no light reading. It's a dramatic novel. Be prepared to be emotionally invested. Go pre-order now for $0.99. It's an insane bargain. Inquisitor is free. If you don't want to buy anything else at least get Inquisitor for free and read it before reading Silver Bullet for $0.99.

Depressing, confusing, unfinished, and not thought-through. (although I liked the beginning at first)
Two of the protagonists from other books in the series (meaning mates and friends and siblings) are MIA before the book starts, and for about 60-70% of it they do jack shit about it except for whole lot of whining about guilt and sleeping around.
Then the protagonists tries to commit suicide to save everyone, luckily escapes it, and runs out on her own to 'save the day' in a brief and anticlimactic and unsatisfying way.
She is supposed to be a very (inhumanly) old wolf with decades and decades of experience working for/with Inquisition, running complex company, etc. and for the duration of this book she behaves like a traumatized teenager with no brain power left.
The worst and the stupidest part was the fox. Because it was both extremely obvious from the beginning and because it made absolutely no sense--Richards was able to sniff the squirrel the first time he met her, but apparently neither him not the other multiple wolves and witches could do the same with the fox. It makes ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE.
I hated so much about the behavior and interactions of the characters in this book... they just didn't make any sense to me. I hated the book structure about as much. No cohesive event flow, whole lot of nothing for most of the book, no explanation to what actually happened, no satisfying conclusion...
Feels like this book was not thought through at all and released uncompleted by mistake.

This series just keeps getting better and better!

Once again Blain has an awesome book added to her Witch and Wolf series. I can not express how good the series is! It takes a rare talent to write an engaging story nd being able to hold the reader's attention without out having to throw sex scenes in there to make the story readable. The description of the chactors are so well written that the reader can actually "see" a fix sticking his tongue out at someone! Do yourself a favour and go buy the book! You will have several hours of enjoyment!

Love love love this writer's work. Great, catchy first chapter which carries through for the whole book. I enjoyed all the characters and the tie-ins from previous books. Some of the plot was transparent, but I still enjoyed the storytelling. A wonderful series by an author who pays attention to the details with worldbuilding and character development.

Writing for witch and wolf and winter wolf series

I am a fan of paranormal romances and this is why I began reading these books. What a wonderful twist of how witches, "feneric" and "normals fit together and yet not.
I would recommend these series for anyone that enjoys any fiction romances. I look forward to the next books. I'll be watching and waiting impatiently.

Snappy patter

It could be a bit confusing tracking time. Days passed without the reader being aware. There is also a repetitive nature to the interplay between characters.

I will buy the next novella.

Terrific story

I really enjoyed finding out more about Vicki's earlier life. I wish I knew more about it. Plus, it tidied up quite a lot of loose ends from the other books in the series.

2024 bk 103. Excellent ending to the series. I had started with Karma & Jake's stories and with the conclusion of this 4th of the earlier series, things began to snap in place in my mind. Looking forward to other books set in the universe of Witch & Wolf.

Chasing safety and family

There are a lot of emotions roiling thru this one and a lot of insecurities. Talking about it helps even when you don’t want to talk about it. I like Snowflake.

I really liked the story and I've listened to it on audiobook multiple times but here's the problem that I have with the continuity...

It feels like RJ Blaine decided to tell us a story about characters and their developments and the lives and deaths of secondary characters we liked from previous books without actually writing their story. I seriously felt like I was missing some chapters or that I missed a book in between blood diamond and silver bullet. And not the pack of justice book because although I haven't read it I know it's not connected to the blood diamonds. Like James dies and we get to hear about previous experiences where Vicky and Marcus are having relationship troubles and she runs away multiple times to Jackson. I don't know, I feel like I needed that book. It feels like we went from Good guys becoming bad guys as an afterthought instead of as a cohesive plot point.

Read the whole 4 (5? 6??) book boxset all in one go. Enthralling. The only problem for me was hitting the last book and having to figure out who they were talking about when the characters had been gone since book #1. Although, I did start to wonder just how often how many people could be totally betrayed by how many people they thought they could trust. It's sort of a theme.
