Bride of the Fae #2

Ice Lord's Fate

Rate this book
Elion is mine, and I won’t let anyone steal him away.

Elion and I have escaped the evil encroaching on the castle and fled to Elion’s ice-covered estate. We’re finally together, but the peace we find in his childhood home is short-lived. We spend our days working with friends to restore the true king to the throne, something his son and an evil witch refuse to see happen, and our nights clinging to each other.

And the clock is ticking.

Unless I can end Elion’s curse, he’ll die. In desperation, I search the kingdom, determined to break the witch’s curse before it steals him from me forever. I refuse to lose him. He’s my life and my love, and I’ll lay down my life to save his.

But what if my sacrifice isn’t enough?

Ice Lord’s Fate is book two in the Bride of the Fae fantasy romance duology. This series heats to a high sizzle and comes with a guaranteed happily ever after.

Don’t read this book unless you’re open to steamy romance, mystery & danger, and you’re intrigued by the idea of becoming a bride to a fae ice lord.

Review of Ice Lord’s Fate
By Ava Ross

Wonderful Conclusion to the Ice Lord’s Duet

This book is the continuation of the story that began in “Ice Lord’s Bride”, in which Elion, a fae Lord, and Raven, a human, met and fell in love. They had traveled to his castle, which was coated in ice due to a curse placed on him by an evil witch, and married in a small chapel on his estate. After speaking their vows to each other, a woven chain appeared on their wrists, indicating that they were matebonded. But they were still trying to find a way to prevent Elion’s death from the curse placed on him by an evil witch.

This book continues the story, when Raven awakens in the middle of the night after she heard a noise that seemed out of place. When she looked out of the window, she saw the witch and ducked out of sight behind the wall. When she worked up the courage and looked out of the window again, the witch created a yellow mist that somehow managed to creep inside the room she was in and engulf her, depositing her into a misty environment. When Elion awoke and realized that Raven was missing, he and Koko, Raven’s pet resha, traversed through the misty environment in an attempt to find her.

After finishing the first book, I was so anxious to read this second book in the duet that I could hardly wait to start it. But I can’t tell you any more of the story without spoiling it for you. It takes place in the fae realm, which is a magical environment to begin with and then there are so many twists and turns that I neither suspected nor saw coming that the story keeps you in a state of suspense, turning page after page. The mysteries and their resolutions keep on coming right up through the end of the book, but the love between Raven and Elion remains steadfast throughout the story. The author has crafted an outstanding tale that’s a blend of fantasy, magic, romance and mystery. I loved this book just as much as the first book and it’s a book well worth reading that is guaranteed to deliver a satisfying HEA. Great job Ava!

My Rating: 5 + Stars!

This is book 2 in a duet. It cannot be read as a standalone: start with Ice Lord's Bride first, then you can read Ice Lord's Fate.

This continues Raven and Elion's adventures. Maverna is still lurking around, menacing and evil... Will they be able to break her curse? What will happen to the king? Read to find out!

I loooved this book! It's an awesome conclusion to an amazing duet. I loved the world building, the characters are so charming and endearing... I love little Koko! I recommend this duet to anyone who loves fantasy romance! The fae in this world are super interesting, and the story is thrilling! You won't be disappointed.

This was such an awesome conclusion to this duet and I really enjoyed everything about it. It definitely must be read in order but you won't be disappointed. Fab world building, endearing characters, a curse and an exciting plot work well with the action, danger, suspense, twists and love that swirl around Elion and Raven. All together, you'll find this a fast paced and engaging story that's highly entertaining. I can't wait to see what's next by this author :D

The concluding story of Elion and Raven love story. Soooo, Elion and Raven are celebrating their recent union of marriage between these two. But, old foes are still out there and wanting to keep them away for learning the truth. Secrets that was held have unearthed and man are they a doozy. And Raven learns she has relatives she never knew about. Will she believe the truth and fight those against the true king and rightful heir. What will happen? Loved reading this, mystery, suspense, secrets revealed. Twists and turns,, but I kinda have questions I didn’t pick up on.

❄️ “There’s nowhere else I want to be, Raven. Only with you. Only you.”
~~~
Raven and Elion are together and married but their journey is far from over. They have less than two weeks to break Elion’s curse and deal with all the foes lurking in the shadows. Will their bond be strong enough to endure everything thrown its way? Yes. I loved how devoted, loyal and protective they were of one another and, even when things seemed hopeless, Elion and Raven wouldn’t let nothing and no one tear them apart. And the passionate moments they shared were so hot. I loved how much Raven and Elion grew throughout the story and I adored them more and more with each new chapter. They were a truly perfect match and, after everything both have been through, they more than deserved to find happiness and love with each other.
In addition, the storyline was absolutely phenomenal. Every time you think there would be nothing more to surprise you, you’d be hit with another mind-blowing twist or revelation. You’ll get to learn so much more about Raven, Elion, King Khaidill and even Maverna. Nothing and no one is who they appear to be. Even more, I loved that we got to meet some really awesome creatures, too. With everything that’s happening, the suspense and non-stop action, I was glued to the pages till the very end.
Overall, the story is an epic, thrilling and absolutely spectacular series finale! It’s filled with danger, drama, action, violence, adventure, magic, suspense, twists, scorching hot romance and magnificent characters.
I couldn’t put it down and loved every single page of it!
I wanted to like this book, I really did.
After reading the first book, and falling in love with the story, I couldn’t wait to dive into the second book. Unfortunately, the second book lacked the luster that the first one did. It almost felt like different authors wrote the two books. The entire story felt rushed.
There wasn’t much opportunity to build a connection with any of the characters. Midway through the book, I was bored to death. I only finished it out of mere tenacity. About the fourth time that Elion ended up in the dungeon that he couldn’t magically get out of, I rolled my eyes with exasperation. How hard is it to create a new obstacle for the main characters to overcome? There was a lot of unnecessary repeating.
I figured out most of the twists in the story immediately, long before the shocking reveal took place. I knew that Elion was the king’s rightful son and heir in the first book. The second I met the Griffin inside the realm, I knew he was Raven’s father. I knew that Minerva was the illegitimate prince’s mother in book one. The only thing I didn’t see coming was Elion’s adoptive father having an affair with Ravens maid, and the two elves who were Raven’s aunt and uncle. Honestly, the entire book was transparent as fuck and lacked imagination.
I was severely disappointed. Especially since I had high hopes for this book. Oh well, you win some you lose some.
Raven may have managed to marry her elven Lord but there is more than one person who is not happy about that, not happy at all. It seems that no matter how much they try to enjoy their time together it is always at the expense of their future. As she looks for a possible cure for her darling husband there is more than one in the shadows looking to ensure that never happens. Elion is on a death sentence which is finite, there is no changing it and it might even be forshortened at this rate. So he is determined to spend as much time with his beloved as he can. That is is he can find her!
This second half of this duology still has such a fairytale quality to it. You cannot help but hope that these two manage to get the happy ending that they deserve. The twists and turns just pull you in and plot whispers its way through beautifully. I really hope that we might at some time get the stories for some of the other elf lords.
"...surely a love as powerful as ours could break a curse laid on me in spite."
Elion is a cursed Fae Lord, with the good fortune to have met an amazing human woman... but can the two of them do something about that curse before UT takes his life?
Raven has wanted to protect Elion from the moment she first saw his vulnerable heart. But his Face world is dangerous, and complicated in ways this human isn't familiar with, but that doesn't mean she won't fight tooth and nail.
This kindle unlimited quick read finishes the overarching arc of this two book story, providing both closure and payoff for events in the first book. This is a story about inner strength and determination, about fighting to the end, standing up for what you believe in - even when it's hard, and coming to terms with the past.
Great story.. this book was part two of the Ice Lord duology. (Part One being: Ice Lord’s Bride)
What an exciting read. Plenty of suspense and action. I was glad the author kept the sex to a minimum and developed the characters and story more. Written like a young adult, adventure romance but because of the sex, I would say more for the college age and up. The story was strong enough that the sexual descriptions could have been skipped. Now a day, sex sells. So this book, like so many others, just throws it in. Still, it’s all good, the couple of sex scenes didn’t hurt the story. I really enjoyed all the different creatures and characters. It gave the story more substance . After all, the story takes place in a magical world. Highly recommend these two books. An overall great adventure.
This is the second story in a duet. Please read the Ice Lord's Bride first to give you background for this one. Excellent story and so hard to not give away of the plot. The evil witch is still here and during the night she steals Raven away. Elion awakes to find her gone, grabs Koko and follows her, using his magic, into the fae realm.
There are so many plot twists, suspense, fear, danger, love and so much more driving this story. You won't put it down until it's done. It is fast paced and easy to get totally immersed in the action. Great characters and world building. Our author has given us an amazing tale.
It was so lovely to visit with Raven and Elion again and to read this second and final installment of their HEA. Ms. Ross is fabulous with her understanding and ability to write conspiracies, family feuds, and complex situations like no other. She always has me rooting for our couple and those around them that are fighting for a cause. Raven is such a powerful female character. She and Elion are a team, and their bond and love grow throughout the story. I am having difficulty writing my review as I don't want to give any spoilers. Just know they battle against those dark evildoers and love triumphs. These two bring families together, and the two worlds become connected by good.
Ice Lord’s Fate is the sequel to Ice Lord's Bride in the Bride of the Fae duology. It is not as good as the first book, but it is a satisfying conclusion to the story, with a nice HEA. It is a bit cheesy at times, like the first one. However, the world building is excellent, and the character development is also well done. Recommend if you like short romantasy that is a quick and fun read about the Fae world that involves humans in a contemporary setting. 3½***
The intrigue continues - celebrating there union, we find Raven and Elion still fighting other while getting their foundation in their own relationship. Raven discovers she has family and wonders if they will be friend or foe.
Raven and Elion have made it clear they are for each other but what other foes coming, will they fight back to back or will betrayal rock this most perfect union. I have to say that Ava makes you miss sleep with the way she weaves the story and the betrayals and you see that what you thought may not be true.
I loved this book! What a fantastic ending to a captivating romance! I loved book one, The Ice Lord's Bride, and needed to see how it ended. Great world building and wonderful characters. This book began by beautifully showing just how much Elion and Raven loved each other- before danger struck and just like that I was once again hooked. There was danger, suspense, and excitement. And with the deadline to break Elion's curse quickly approaching, with their love be strong enough to overcome all? A wonderful read! I definitely recommend picking up this duet! 5 stars.
What an amazing conclusion to this duet! Elion and Raven are an amazing couple, and I love them. Well, it's more like I love Elion because he pretty much does whatever it takes for Raven. *swoon* This book had it all - romance, suspense, drama, plot twists, fantasy, and nice spiciness. We are kept at the edge of our seats, completely engaged, and devouring every word written in this beautiful written world. I cannot express how much I loved this book and how much I loved this duet. I will say you must read it, but you have to start with book 1!
Wow. Again a great tale. This conclusion was perfect. The story was wrapped up in a way that you feel like you have completed the story without any lingering doubts.
Raven and Elion have a ride with the finishing of there story. They have many foes to conquer before they can turkey be happy. They also have many people on their side that need to be seen to also.
The twist and turns in this tale leave you wanting more until it is complete at the end. This was a great duet.
What a great conclusion to Elion and Raven’s story! In this book, we get to find out if Raven and Elion are successful in ending Elion’s curse and saving the kingdom. I couldn’t put this book down! This book had so many twists and turns that it made me question every character’s intentions right until the end. I had to keep reading so I could find out what happens to our main characters. I am sad that the this is the end of the series. I am going to miss the characters in these books!
Only one time I said huh???
These were 2 great books, though I wasn't happy with having book one leave me hanging. It was too big a story for only one book though.
The only thing that bugged me was a griffin stating "I don't eat meat." Really? With that beak and claws? The griffin's response could have easily been something different.
I recommend this, as well as Ava's other series. Thanks to Ava and her team.
I am seriously lacking the words to say how much I love this book! The first book was good, this one is epic! It has the feel of the very best fairytales but it also has deep romance. Koko is amazing! The side characters are great! The climax to the story is extremely well done! I can't rave enough about this book! Ava Ross knocked it out of the park!
Fabulous conclusion to the Bride of the Fae, this book had me at the edge of my seat for most of the read. I love how Ross weaves her prose…intertwining a hot romance with mystery and intrigue. We continue to meet interesting creatures from the Fae realm…KoKo the pet resha and Latarre, a griffon. Part two was well worth the wait. Download and enjoy ❤️❤️❤️❤️
The Concurring Love
Such a great story, so much struggle in a world unfamiliar to humans. A young half fae and a cursed lord struggling to keep their marriage and live intact against a witch and her sister. Truly touchingly sweet and eventful. Ava you actually kept my interest in the book. Thanks
I love when the second book is even better than the first! The build-up in this book was better than the first, and I felt like the character development was better also. I can usually figure out plot details or who characters are, but I was genuinely surprised by some of the details! I really enjoyed the book!
Magic and romance
Everything you could wish for when you think about the fae realm. Magical creatures and adventure are in this story as well as suspense. Romance between human females and fae males is not easy but you hope it works out in the end
