FIRE. THE. EDITOR. Basic errors that easily could’ve been prevented were extremely noticeable. These errors didn’t really make the quality of the book any less (mainly bc my expectations weren’t high), but they certainly did not make it look polished.

Fundamentally, the plot was strong throughout. This book was not a drag to read bc of the plot, but because of the characters (so pick-me, so whiny) and some of the world building.

Eric’s character was pretty funny and I liked that he had a semi-innocent streak in a bleak world. But let’s be honest, the world didn’t feel that bleak. I could understand the essence of what the author was trying to communicate, but spicing it up descriptively would’ve made this much more intriguing—again, editor issue. Furthermore, the tone was not consistent. Sometimes it was this (attempt) at edgy, moody, and dark while other times it was tee-hee, perfect romance, and whiny. While Eric was enjoyable, everyone else was just so bland. Yes, the other characters (even Adam) had use to the story, but they were not anyone special to me as a reader in the end.

World-building wise, I think this would have been a lot more entertaining if the author REALLY leaned into this dystopian lab-experiment vibe. And I think this specifically could be achieved through keeping tone consistent.

At its core, this is an intriguing plot with well thought out plot points and defining characters. My rating would be higher if it was workshopped, some stuff was cut down, and the author actually had an editor.

3.75/5 this is kinda a review of the second and third book since I didn't write anything for the second book.

overall I did enjoy this series don't get me wrong, you could defiantly tell it's something from wattpad and not necessarily in a bad way just that it has the writing of a wattpad story.

I think book number one was my favorite out of this series because I felt like it had the most suspense and I liked the whole thing Adam and Eric had going on where Eric didn't want Adam to know he was him, that was cute.

even though I did enjoy all three of these books I do feel like there was a decent amount that could've been better. I started noticing in the second book how Eric wouldn't really keep Adam in the loop of things and yes at the time he said it was bc he was protecting him but then In this book Adam would hear things from Eric's friends and not Eric himself which I found a little weird. I think Adam should've had more scenes with Eric but also just with him, he's presented to be some big bad person who did so much to be number one but then we barely see him???

I also did find Eric annoying at times which is expected because when is the main character never not annoying? the one thing that absolutely set me off though was when he gave his aunt the usb drive like?? how could you because in that moment I felt like he was being selfish, im sure every one of those students in the school went through like something 10x worse than his aunt WHO DARE I SAY was pretending to be his dead mother and conning him so she would get money like

also I feel like a lot of details went unfinished, unless I completely missed it but I dont think it was ever explained what was under normans bed.

okay my last thing, I feel like the ending could've been better. I just wished there was a few more chapters between the last one and the ending, it didn't really feel complete. I wished we saw Christopher come in and save Eric, I also wished him and Juliet had more of a role and we actually saw them building their bond with one another instead of it just magically appearing.

overall I did really like this series!!

Wattpad. You did your thing.
This series pissed me off sm after I couldn't find book 2 and 3 last year. Upon realisations and commitments, I picked it up again. Better later than never, right?

What do I begin with? Eric, the man you are. you're so strong and you deserve the entire world and I don't know why you think you don't. "I didn't do it" surely will haunt me for the rest of my days.

Adam, Well, fuck you. Oh boy, how FAST you'd get on my nerves but hey, You had your own character development alright?

Styx and Brock stole the show along with belial. I might have a thing or two for morally grey characters. But I swear, killing is not acceptable :(

Good book! This book gave me so many surprises throughout reading it. The twist was so overlooked I never would have expected it! I will say though each book is a little short for my liking for how much they cost, but hey, everyone's got to make money somehow. So, I understand. Overall, I give this book 4 stars! It's pretty good to have started out as a Wattpad story.

Once again read a book in this serie in one day lol. It has been a really long time since I've been this invested in a story the way I was with this story. It is such a good book and I'm actually quite sad that it ended :(

Great Book!

Everything was full of comedy, angst, betrayal and plot twists that I didn't see. Finally finished the last book of the trilogy and I'm happy but also sad I finished it.
