These three books were a great introduction into the paranormal world of Whispering Falls, Kentucky. June Heal and her next door neighbor and best friend, Oscar Park, move to Whispering Falls to start a new life after June's mom dies. I loved almost every one of the quirky characters who live in Whispering Falls. Well crafted plots, mysteries with twists, magic of all types to intrigue the reader and just a touch of romance kept me entertained throughout these three books.

The second book in the Magical Cures Mystery Series was as enjoyable as the the first. Refreshing great read

I really like each story full of suspense and ways of different friendships with a gutsy character you will have to take my word for if I do go on, I'll give it away n you won't get the experience I had - but you will have fun meeting the characters n wish you were there friend n neighbors too it's easy to get swept away n that's a true author who can accomplish that and now I'm going onto book 3 that I already downloaded cuz I couldn't wait to get back to Whispering Falls 🔮💫

*UPDATE* after reading the 5th book i am back to loving it again! all of the things i mentioned im the bottom of this post has been redeemed! i will now go on to her splitsville

Sooooo there is so much I want to say and beware that SPOILERS shall have to pop up so I can give an accuarate review. When I first started this series I was in LOVE. The author has amazing creativity. I highly enjoyed the 1st 2 but the 3rd ruined it for me and so did the synopsis for 4 and 5! I feel that the story could have been developed much better. My first issue is the fact that the main character is thrown into an unknown world where hardly anything is explained. They just tell her what she needs to do and she does. Everytime dhe tries to get more info she is stonewalled....WHY???? Then they have the audacity to make her village president so early on in the series.....again WHY???? She obviously has none of the knowledge she needs. they say ita because of her father but shouldnt she develop as a character more and learn more about her spiritual gifts before giving her such responsibilty. It made no sense to make a woman who is new to this and new to the towm the village president. And Oscar...omg Tonye i love you but come on....he has to renounce his gifts AND lose his memore in order to help her??? what freaking sense does that make. that was so heartbreaking to me!! & how in the heck is he supposed to help her when he doesnt have all his memories. and to add insult to injury his memory loss makes him think that she actually abandoned their friendship when she moves. none of this makes sense...not to mention a native american killed over a freaking order of ding dongs!!!! wtf im so done with this. going to try another series by this author and hope its better because she really has good ideas!

The series, is...well...charming. Kappes (whose name reminds me of the kappas in the Harry Potter novel, no offense to this author, just keeping in tune with magical books) does a decent job moving a story along, writing for a young adult or pre-teen audience-even middle aged adults. In the magical/paranormal genre, one has to suspend belief in reality and known timelines of events, as evidenced in this Charming Magical series.

True-to-form, a young girl/woman prior unbeknownst to her, is a witch/paranormal/clairvoyant/psychic, is dragged into a paranormal business/leadership/dating venue, has mishaps/framed/blackmailed into performing deeds against her will. Predictable and saccharine yet still a fun read. Kappes knows how to draw the reader in and keeps the action fun and punchy, with crazy characters, a magical village, a magical university and magical businesses.

Not for everyone, the series isn't covering serious genre-breaking plots. It's meant to be a getaway from normal, regular life. While fun, I do take issue with the main character's unhealthy dependence on junk food and sweets. Kappes must keep in check that diabetes, heart disease can happen to her target audience. Such unhealthy snacks can be so detrimental to young (and old) bodies. She is not seen eating any other food items, no healthy vegetables, no lean meats, no dairy-which are so vital for young bodies.

The main character is seen as independent, following her own mind, sleuthing and standing up for herself-which is what every young person, boy AND girl, must know about themselves. That they have value, can make up their own minds and stick up for themselves. So hats off to Kappes!

I would give the series 4 stars, with reservations noted above.

The best books ever

Clean and fun, a fairy tale for adults with a little mystery added. Not much violence, no bad words or romantic scenes except for a few kisses. I wish I had the money to buy ALL of the Magical Cures series.
