When Tory Satterly starts at the second-rate Miami paper, The Sun, she's just a lowly, overweight reporter, relegated to the fashion pages. Worse, she's hopelessly in love with Russ Churchill, golden boy of the prestigious rival paper, The Post.
But, determined to succeed, Tory soon fights her way into the hard news world of smouldering sex scandals and drug deals. As her career soars she becomes a svelte and sexy woman, at home in the playgrounds of the rich - and in the arms of multi-millionaire Max Highsmith.
Then, with The Post and The Sun set to merge, Russ Churchill becomes Tory's rival... as well as her lover. For there's only room for one at the top.
I read this a few years ago and really enjoyed it. It inspired me to to step out of my country home town and head off to the big smoke and to somewhat take a risk. It was an entertaining read, and in some parts I couldn't put it down.
