I really didn’t like the way Pierce left Sutter for nine years without an explanation. When the story started, he’s pretty much moved on and is partying with two hookups, an indulgence he practiced on his birthday. Graphic scenes that were with OW, which was icky.
Hard to get behind him as the hero when he never checked up on Sutter during the nine years after ghosting her.
She ended up on his doorstep begging for his help. His response to seeing her did not further endear me to him.
Both of their lives were in turmoil by the time they reconnected.
While I believed that Sutter had always loved Pierce and needed closure, I had a hard time feeling that Pierce was connected to Sutter in the way that he claimed.
Their relationship took hold around the middle of the story.
This moderately paced second chance romance was full of stilted drama where Pierce blew hot and cold.
When he finally decided to confess his feelings to Sutter, the storyline picked up speed.

This story takes us into Pierce's world. You started to like him in Love and Redemption & fell in love with him in Love and Consequences (Love and Ruin series 3 & 4), now you find out more. His past comes back to bite but in the best way.
To note you don't have to have read the Love and Ruin Series to read this however, the series does introduce you to Pierce...and you just may see a cameo of Hendrix and the rest of the family...
This is an action packed, page turner that leaves you wanting more. Love with warmth, trials and tribulations along with unstoppable heartwarming moments, gorgeous characters (both inside and out) and a mystery to be solved.
Pierce and co. are HOT, protective and gentleman with a bit of something else.... just what a girl desires. The story keeps you reeled in, the heroine is so Uber strong and there's a history that cannot be ignored...with twist, turns and revelations once you start this romantic suspense there's no stopping.

Pierce has a family emergency and best buds Redd and Z are with him during this difficult time.
Now back in his hometown he sees Sutton the love of his life that he walked away from years ago. Sutton's sister Claire is in trouble and has been kidnapped. Pierce's father agreed to help her now it is up to Pierce to help bring Claire home safely.
Sutton needs Pierce's help and she does not care if there is history there. I mean she still loves him but whatever his issue is will be just that his issue. She needs to find her sister.
Pierce meets Jeffrey his fathers right hand man and bodyguard and together with his friends/employees and Sutton they set out to find answers to the kidnapped girls.
I have to admit this book did not hold my attention as much as I wanted it to. I did like the story but I think I was a little bored compared to the others.
I do like Sutton and Pierce's relationship and glad to see his character is happy in the story.

Oh.My.Goodness. This is a FANTASTIC read!!! After reading the Love & Ruin trilogy and Love & Consequences I was DYING for Pierce to get a story and HEA of his own - and WHOA - J.A. Owenby did NOT disappoint!! Pierce goes back to his origins after a family emergency and comes face-to-face with his past, both good and bad. Sutton is "the one who got away" and she's ready for answers, along with assistance from Pierce in the form of security for herself and her family. The sparks are still there, and they heat up the pages right from the start. Sutton may have hired Pierce for protection, but she isn't letting him keep her from doing her own thing. Sutton is fiesty, intellegent, and a badass herself, causing Pierce's protective instincts to go into overdrive to keep her safe. This story has everything a reader needs!! There's action, suspense, vulnerability, humor, plenty of steam, visits from previous characters, and of course - a happy ever after!! Can't wait to see what J.A. Owenby brings next - dare I hope, more bodyguards?? ;) Highly recommend this book (but if you have a chance - read the Love & Ruin books first!! it will make it even better!!)

I loved the second chance romance between Pierce and Sutton. The heartbreak of losing his father has Pierce reeling, and then he finds out his Dad had just taken on an assignment involving Sutton’s family. Pierce has a significant amount of angst and heartbreak in his past that was ignored and never dealt with. Sutton is the love of his life he had to leave behind, but never stopped loving. All this emotional drama is brought to the surface as Pierce helps investigate the sudden disappearance of Sutton’s sister. The romance takes place amongst a suspenseful backdrop where Pierce and Sutton discover what happened and who is involved regarding Sutton’s missing sister. I enjoyed the friendship Pierce has with Redd and ZW, and several other characters.
This was my first book by this author, but I’m definitely interested in reading her prior work! This story definitely ties in with other works based on the involvement Pierce had with the band members, but I was able to follow along without being confused. Really good book!

J.A. Ownby did a wonderful job on Twisted Intentions, the story had a well written plot that was packed with many feelings, suspense, action and more. The story will take you on an emotional rollercoaster. I really enjoyed Sutton and Pierce's story. These two were so well matched, they made a strong pair even with their painful past. Pierce was fierce, he would do anything to protect the one he loved even if it caused heartache. Sutton was also fierce, she would do anything for the ones she loved, that's why these two were so perfect for each other.
It didn't matter how much time had past, their attraction and connection was still there, stronger than ever. The chemistry was sexy between them. They were great together.
This was a great start to this series, the characters were great. I'm looking forward to reading more.
I'd recommend reading this story, it was great.

Twisted Intentions is another 5+++ star read by J.A. Owenby. This book is filled with everything needed to keep your attention. It has action, suspense, romance and sex. While I am normally not a fan of second chance novels I absolutely loved this one. To see that the characters still after so many years still had that strong love between them to get past their past mistakes to finally see what was right in front of them. It was filled with a roller coaster of emotions where I laughed, cried and even raged along with the characters in this book. J.A. Owenby is an amazing author who definitely has a way of drawing you into her stories and making you feel everything the characters do just as she has done with all her other books. If you love second chance books filled with hot and tempting bodyguards then this is definitely the book for you.

Another five-star. This gripped my from page one. Pierce former bad boy turned bodyguard, is called back to his hometown for personal reasons. There he reconnects with the love.Sutton, that one that got away. She is his next client. Her sister, Claire, has been kidnapped and feared sold into human trafficking. Together they will stop at nothing to bring her back. All while dealing with past issues that once tore them apart. Owenby makes you feel what her characters are feeling, I couldn’t read this fast enough. She creates characters you want to know and that you come to care about. Looking forward to what she has in store for us next.

This was my first time reading a book by J.A. Owenby and this author did a great job, the plot and character building are awesome. It grabbed my interest from the very beginning, there's drama, suspense, action, romance, sex and a steamy hot couple. I loved Pierce and Sutten! I highly recommend you grab this book and see if they get their second chance. It's a action packed love story that will pull you in with it's heartwarming romance. I will definitely be reading more form this author!!!!

I wish I could give this more than 5 stars! What an incredible story! I am loving what this author is putting out and this story is no exception. This story has everything you need to keep you involved within its pages and keeps you in on the edge of your seat throughout its pages.

I LOVE Pierce and Sutten! I can read twisted intentions over and over! I love how you didn't even know what was gonna happen. I love everything from the suspense to the hot steamy scenes! I highly recommend this book!

Great read. Lots going on with the characters, beautiful love story, love the suspense and the twisted back story too. I really enjoyed the heat and hot scenes but I mostly appreciated the loyalty and the love the characters had towards each other. I can't wait to read more.

This was my first book by J. A. Owenby and I am very happy to say this is well deserving of 5 stars. One of the best second chance stories I have read. It is obvious from the start that Pierce has still not gotten over his love for Sutton and so when he has to not only deal with the sudden loss of his father, he needs to come to terms with Sutton being his new client.
The story contains a lot of emotion for both Pierce and Sutton to deal with. Pierce having to deal his father’s death and taking over his father’s business, and Sutton’s sister disappearing, the two of them have a lot of left over feelings they need to work out from their previous relationship. It is obvious that as hard as they might try to deny them, they still have feelings for each other.
There were twists and turns that took the story in directions one sometimes didn’t count on. Add a very hot relationship that is being rebuilt, the story kept the reader on the edge at times.
I very much enjoyed also meeting Pierce’s buddies Redd and ZW. I am looking forward to reading what has happened during Pierce & Sutton’s wedding and what happens between Redd & Claire.

Gritty, sexy, and so worth a binge read!
I have loved Pierce through all of the Love & Ruin series, and was so excited to get to learn more about his past. I was not disappointed! His love interest is just as strong as he is and I love the back and forth while they figure their love out. Love the way this author really develops the characters so they feel real, like you know them and grow to care about them. It makes the story so much more interesting, and makes me want to re-read again and again!

Oh this was good! I fell for Pierce way back in the beginning books and now to see his backstory and where he came and from...whew! Sutton has always been his, even when she wasn’t. She holds the part of him that no one else can see or touch, his heart. Now with devastating news, she shows up on his doorstep looking for help he can’t turn her away. Now it’s a race to find her missing sister and to figure out he can be around her again without falling deeper.
It’s hot and action filled. Such a good story!

Another stupendous, suspense romance by Owenby! Oh, and add in… sexy, second chance!
The depth of the characters has you rooting for them throughout the suspense and drama that has been spun! A web that trapped me into Pierce and Sutten's world! I didn't mind being stuck in the web, and honestly there was no struggle to escape!
I loved every twist, turn, and the sexy goodness. So many heart pumping chapters!
Owenby's books will consistently make it to my TBR list!

Wow awesome
This was an awesome book. The second chance epic. Sutton and Pierce have always belonged together they just had to take a break. Brought back together by a kidnapping can they find each other again. You have to read it and see JA keeps the suspense going on every page. It’s definitely worth the read.

Loved this book!!!
After reading the previous books in this series, Pierce was the character you didn't know much of how he ticked but always wondered about. I loved learning more about the stoic and mysterious life of Pierce!!! His protectiveness, his heart, how he loved. He was definitely one of my favorite characters!!!

Wow! 5 stars aren’t enough! I loved this book, and I was hooked from the first page. There were so many twists and turns with lots of steamy scenes. I loved Pierce from the Love & Ruin series and was so excited to see him get an HEA. I’m a huge fan of suspense, and this storyline kept me guessing until the end. I can’t wait for the next book in the series.

It was wonderful getting a glimpse in to the bodyguard that has been a tight lipped mystery.
It was nice to see the friendships and bonds grow as well.
Both main characters are so strong and the chemistry is there.
I totally did not see some of the twist comming.

I LOVE Pierce and Sutten! I can read Love And Corruption over and over! I love how you didn't even know what was gonna happen. I love everything from the suspense to the hot steamy scenes! I highly recommend this book!

I really liked the characters especially the guys. Also, the way Pierce and Sutton were able to have a second chance. However, I would have preferred to have Sutton's point of view also.

Owenby captured the emotion and personality of all the characters. I couldn't stop reading and I was disappointed Everytime a book ended. Wanting to stay lost in the book longer. I can't wait to find more out about Claire!

Love this story
I love all these characters, but getting more information on this stoic bodyguard was a real treat and I loved the introduction of Sutton. Brilliant story with promise of more to come.
