In a world ruled by element-controlling Imperium, a revolution sparks. Peace has reigned over the kingdom of Erea for almost a millennium—the perfect breeding ground for chaos.

'The Darkest Side of a Star' by Olivia Ocran is an awesome story happening in a world ruled by a big power group called the Imperium. Everything's been peaceful in the kingdom of Erea for a long time, but now things are getting crazy.
Protagonist Ilise Obrien, a girl who always wants the best for her loved ones, joins a rebel group after her family is hurt. Ilise Obrien, driven by a deep sense of justice and revenge, becomes entangled in the Primis Defense Union after her family is brutally murdered. On the other side,there's Princess Yorena, who's in line for the throne but has to face a tough competition.
Unexpectedly, Ilise and Yorena have to team up to save their kingdom. The story is all about their adventures, facing challenges, unity and figuring out if they're just playing a part in a bigger game.
What makes the story awesome is how Ilise and Yorena, despite their differences, have to team up to save their kingdom. The characters, especially Ilise and Yorena, are super interesting, well-developed and are my personal favourite.
Olivia Ocran makes the world of Erea come alive with cool powers and interesting characters. The story keeps you hooked, wondering if Ilise and Yorena can save their kingdom.
This book easily earns a well-deserved five-star rating, securing its place as a must-read for enthusiasts of epic narratives. I wholeheartedly recommend The Darkest Side of a Star For fans of epic tales with strong, dynamic characters and a richly imagined world, If you like exciting adventures with a mix of power, friendship, and a bit of mystery, you'll enjoy diving into this book.

A must read
Lately, I had lost my motivation to read-that is, until I picked up The Darkest Side of a Star. I couldn't put it down. The writing, the plot, and the conflicts are all so captivating that they keep you hooked and craving more. Just when I thought I had it all figured out, the story took a turn that left me speechless. This book isn't just a story; it's an experience. Truly unforgettable!

Wonderful
Two thumbs up. This is an amazing book from a talented first-time author. The world building was great, as well as the diverse representation. I can't wait to see what is in store for this young lady. Highly recommend to anyone who likes fantasy with a little side of romance. Great combination.

I loved the relationships in this book! The way the servants interact with the royals was such a nice change. I genuinely didn’t see the twist coming, will definitely be reading the next one. It’s a sapphic YA slow burn, great work from a debut author.

Felt pretty elementary for me and was a lot more show than tell. The ending felt rushed and forced, and there not many times I enjoyed reading this book

omg. the end. i just finished and well….. i have legit no idea whats going to happen but if lise and yorena don’t get together in book 2….. and with the perfect twist at the end…. could’t ask for a better book… also the 2 point of view made the book all the more perfect! would totally recommend 10/10 :)
