This is a crisp, entertaining read that looks at a mid-1980s offseason in MLB. It's obviously a bit dated - all the players mentioned have long since retired and baseball's offseason has changed greatly (no free agent draft or a free agent compensation pool), but it offers an insight to this period in baseball history and relevance to how teams look at offseason team building.
