The Spider Prince Trilogy #3

“It’s a lot to risk for a girl you don’t remember and a faerie you don’t trust.”

There’s a faerie in Eddie Karpinski’s bedroom, and he’s claiming that they’re friends. Eddie has no memory of Nuisance or the Spider Prince who joins them in the city later, but the fae are insistent. Armed only with an iron knife—which is next to useless against fae this powerful—Eddie has little choice but to stay close and keep alert. These alleged friends say that there’s a girl’s life at stake and Eddie can’t abandon a human to the Wild Hunt.

And then there’s the dreams that have plagued Eddie for months. Dreams of fighting the Wild Hunt and winning, dreams of spiders and bees, dreams that might actually be the memories that Eddie doesn’t otherwise have. They create more questions than they answer and Eddie struggles to believe the answers anyway. The fae might only speak the truth, but that doesn’t make them honest.

Unfortunately, Eddie’s going to have to rely on them.

Leandra 'LJ' Inglis was born in western Canada and spent her most formative years living in southern England, meaning she has strong opinions on which words should be spelt with the letter u, which sport should be called football, and how to pronounce the word jaguar. She's also been known to get confused about which words and phrases are used in which country and has been told by people in England that she still sounds Canadian, while people in Canada insist she has a British accent. When she's not writing, she's probably enthusing over some other media or talking to friends around the world on discord.

She writes mainly in the YA/NA category, focusing on the science fiction and fantasy genres, and creating fun and fantastical stories that emphasise friendships and coming of age while following characters who are over the age of eighteen. In her words, 'adults deserve to have adventures too'.

Really well written ending to the trilogy. I like how she writes her LGBT+ characters and normalizes them. She does a great job of continuing to flesh out and bring out new aspects of all her characters from all three books. Ends well

What an end to an incredible story…

I have never before cried at a book before but reading ‘the moment feels endless. And then time continues on.’ Legitimately broke me.

Eddies journey is so wonderful to follow. Learning to rebuild his trust not only in the fae, people he has literally been conditioned to hate, but also his human friends as well was so palpable. Seeing his fighting spirit and the ways he interacts with fae outside of the adventures with his friends was amazing. As always, the emotional beats were so eloquently put, my favourites being Eddie regaining with memory, and the small moments of companionship between the main trio.

LJ, thank you for writing what is, and will forever be, my favourite stories.
