Чували ли сте за Тайланд? Чували сте, трънки, нищо не сте чували.

Тайланд е, ни повече, ни по-малко, световната столица на секса за пари. Не на "проституцията" - тая дума с негативно значение, която предполага нещо неморално, скрито и срамно. Точно обратното - в Тайланд сексът за пари е съвсем нормална дейност, практикувана от безброй усмихнати, дребни, слабички млади момичета с дръпнати очи и леко мургава кожа, които искат да издържат семействата си, да съберат пари за университет или просто да ги харчат за сандалки и джиесеми. Нищо неморално, срамно или скрито няма в цялата работа и именно това е причината десетки милиони туристи (главно мъже, няма какво да се лъжем) посещават тая страна и харчат своите 15 долара за половин час.

Авторът пък, като клише на декадентски писател, направо живее там, приятелката му също дава дупето си под наем и не му мрънка ако спи с други мацки. Баси...

I'm just about finished with this and mainly I've enjoyed it and found it really interesting. The book deals with the author's experience of living in Thailand and hanging out with bar girls. There's a sense in reading the book that although Kit loves to look and 'bounce' with the girls, he appreciates that their main motivation is not love but the money. Frankly, I think this would probably be true of sex workers in any country although perhaps the Thai girls are a bit more transparent in their motivation. Some of his experiences are laugh out loud funny. Kit has a cynical view of the whole business but yet he's a likeable enough character and Paradise Lust is a fast read. A great holiday book.
