For failing to inherit the boon of unusual power that is the Saimori birthright and bringing shame to the family name, mistreated Miyo is cast out to become another's problem.

Sent to the Kudo clan—itself preternaturally powerful—as a potential bride for its heir, Kiyoka, Miyo is surprised to experience kindness for the first time in her thus far sad life.

Though the rumors make him out to be cold and haughty, Kiyoka Kudo quickly warms up to the Saimoris' eldest daughter. Intrigued by the girl who stands worlds apart from the spoiled, social-climbing women who usually vie for his hand, Kiyoka soon comes to regard Miyo with affection.

Just as Miyo believes she may have found happiness at last, her jealous half sister, Kaya, kidnaps her and locks her in a cellar. Kaya's eyes are red with rage as she declares her intention to dissolve Miyo's engagement to Kiyoka and replace Miyo as his fiancée herself! Will Kiyoka's supernatural abilities deliver her from Kaya's clutches in time?

EN Well, well. This series has surprised me, and by the third volume, I can confidently say it’s becoming one of my favorites. It’s a refreshing change of pace from what I’m used to reading.

A crucial volume in the relationship between Miyo and Kiyoka, which, in a way, marks the beginning of a new phase for both them and the story.

Chapter 15 - 20.

I want harsh punishment for Miyo's so called family and Kouji's dad asap. I'm really glad Miyo has Kyoka now, he's so gentle with Miyo but his reputation doesn't lie he is powerful and can be intense when needed. I can't get enough of their interaction, seeing how Miyo bloom around him and Kyoka being so gentle towards Miyo, I'm sorry my heart just sigh in sweetness of them. We'll also meet Kyoka's sister here and she seems interesting to read too. The ending is worrisome, okay gonna continue reading the light novel now. I wonder if we'll ever see Kouji again and how much will he grow as character.

Oh to note that light novel vol. 01 covers the manga chapter 01-17, light novel vol. 02 starts from chapter 18 in manga.

Oh my gosh this volume is so intense! I was honestly really scared for Miyo in having to face her dreadful family again in such a horrifying way! And yet she really showed her true strength and courage by standing up to her abusers and saying no and not giving in to their demands no matter what they did or said to her. She’s so much stronger then she first appears and I love her for it! Though in this scene the violence of physical and verbal abuse really cranks up, so heads up for those who are triggered by this.

And Lord Kudo, my goodness this man is something else! While I never disliked him I’m finding myself loving him more and more as he fights to get Miyo back and free her and just how sweet and tender he is towards her makes my little romantic, shipper heart squeal and sing, lol! He’s amazing and he and Miyo are perfect for each other. 🥰

Koji also showed a surprising amount of spine compared to the previous volumes and I like how he finally found the courage to defy his father and help Kudo find and rescue Miyo. He’s a good friend and I honestly hope we see him again sometime. Also Kudo’s sister is fun and the complete opposite of him, and I look forward to getting to know her more.

The ending focuses once more on the magical and escaped spirits side of things and again I found myself a bit confused as to what exactly is the problem, who the weird old guy is, and what is going on and how the magic works, which I believe are all casualties of adapting from the light novels to manga, but hopefully things will become clearer as we delve deeper into this issue. Or I’ll just read the light novels too and hopefully get all the little details that were left out, haha!

I’m so happy I read what’s been released so far and I’m so very excited to see where the story goes in the next volume!

After all those years of suffering, our Miyo is finally free! 😌

And now they are officially engaged. I am so happy! 🥰

But there are problems lurking in the shadows; the power and mysterious group that opened something should remain hidden.

In this volume, the first arc is over and we're starting the next one which omg it looks veryyyy intriguing and stuff are bound to happen! I hope we see more of Miyo and Kiyoka growing closer and being more affectionate towards each other because I would love to see that hehe. But I know this is a slow-burn romance so it's gonna come in small doses BUT I STILL LOVE IT A LOT!!

A spectacular finish to a kidnapping story arc takes up the first half of the book, but then things slow down considerably and a bunch of new characters are introduced with some vague new story points. I did a little research and found that the adaptation of the first light novel is now complete, and the second half of this manga adapts the start of the second light novel, shuffling through the set-up and throat-clearing bits. I hope things pick up again next volume.

Kyoka's rescue of Miyo had me so fired up. I love how gentle he is with her but so firm and ruthless with others.

There's much more world building here, some more characters and powers introduced!

I do think the pace of this one was a little slower, but still enjoyable.

Contents: rescue, family gets punished, graves, heir discussion, engagement official.

"Please. Find your happiness."

There is no greater desire I have for Miyo than this quote spoken by another character. I SO deeply want to see her find happiness and CONTINUE to have happiness in her life.

It was extremely upsetting seeing the physical abuse she endured in the first half of this volume. I had no idea what was going to happen OR if something happened, if it would even be good. I think the last time I had fear for a character that intense was when I read volume two of Villains Are Destined to Die. I had to remind myself to breathe and desperately hope she would be okay.

Thankfully the "arc"(?) wrapped up in a happy and powerful way because I really don't think my heart could have handled seeing Miyo experience any more pain. Kudo's softness in his actions towards her and the way he shows love really makes this story a beautiful one of healing. Or at least the beginning of a path that leads to healing!

I believe it will be, but the beginning of this new arc hasn't been quite as exciting to me, and worry that our couple may have to temporarily separate due to the events that seem to be going to take place soon. I don't know that for certain and thankful for a new character we meet because I love her! (And she brings some much-needed sunshine to the page after the previous arc.) She's so sweet and fun, even if some of her requests have been triggering for Miyo.

Overall, another powerful and moving volume! I think there will be a calm before the storm, but hoping it's just me being paranoid because with the new goal Miyo is setting her mind to, I desperately want to see her succeed and thrive in her new life.

Not only that, I want her to find her happiness and STAY happy. <3

Is there a term for this genre? Where the lead female character suffers a lot of torment and pain before a male savior comes to save her? I think in kdramas, it’s referred to as a Cinderella Story.

Anyway, Miyo is damseled in this one. It’s funny how I forget frequently that there’s a supernatural element to this story. It’s literally Kudo’s job and I forget there’s magic and gifts. Most of the story is family politics.

Molto carino!

I really liked this one. Basically first half deals with the kidnapping and let's just say Kudo is not too happy they stole his soon to be wife from him. Great character driven moments, a lot is revealed on how all these characters feel, and the second half as a lot of cute moments and growth. Overall really enjoyable storyline.

To say I am obsessed, would be an understatement 🥺

This is the story my younger self needed desperately, but never got 💔. I am utterly biased and deeply in love with everything about this book 😭

TW: Surviving abuse is a matter very close to my heart and at times I have found parts of the story very difficult.. This was the hardest book so far, so be sure to check trigger warnings.

Another great continuation, not as much action here but definitely more lore and some better understanding of the magic at play in this world.
Beautiful illustration and art style, they are all so visually stunning!

With every volume I read of this manga, I love the story more and more. The art work is just amazing, the main characters are so lovable, the story itself interesting. Everytime I finish a new volume, I need the next one ASAP. And it pains to wait for a new volume to be released in English.

I saw some reviewers saying they were excited to finally be getting to the "meat" of the story with more involvement of the magic system, but I actually enjoy and appreciate the slow and tender portrayal of Miyo's trauma and very gradual recovery more 😅
