What happens when Joey, who just wants to be taught right, hires Ava, who knows exactly how to teach him?
Joey Jacobowitz thought practice would make perfect. He figured if he kept trying, he’d eventually figure out what satisfies women in bed, but it hasn’t happened yet. After his most recent attempt walks out on him right in the middle of the act, Joey decides he needs help. What he needs is someone like Ava.
A lot of people see sex-work as shameful, but Ava honestly loves her job. She makes good money and gets to have lots of orgasms, but what’s she’s missing is a man who sees her as more than a dirty little secret or one night stand. Her connection to Joey is instant, and Ava’s calming energy finally gives Joey the space to really open up. What starts off as a lesson to be taught right, soon turns into something more than Joey and Ava bargained for.
Tropes: One-night stand, she teaches him, sex worker, short and spicy.
Rhianna Burwell is an Amazon best seller in erotica. Author of the Before series and the She Teaches Him series, available on Kindle Unlimited, she takes pride in writing spicy, realistic, and deeply satisfying romance and erotica. Rhianna currently resides in Minnesota, where—when she’s not writing erotica hot enough to melt all the winter snows—she enjoys curling up with her cat, avidly watching Grey’s Anatomy, and reading—her current fav is alien romance. Rhianna loves to hear from readers, who can connect with via any of her social media links.
The title and blurb say this book is about a woman teaching a man how to be better in bed. But what actually happens in the story is more like fated mates where he’s just magically good bc she magically makes him feel safe. There is no actual teaching.
Also, I really really wish I could read a sex worker romance where the sex worker doesn’t have to quit their job just to have love or a date.
this gets 2.5 stars. my main issue with it was that it wasn’t even a teach me trope and it was totally advertised as it. which was disappointing. good smut and quick read though.
HFN Standalone, interconnected characters from book 1 with a bonus chapter about book 1 characters
Joey is so bad at adult time he literally had a woman walk out on him in the middle of the act (book 1). He tells his best friend who tells him to hire someone to teach him. Ava is a s.worker who never had problems separating herself from her job. Until Joey. This short story is for those over 18 that can handle steamy content with spicy language.
Allora la storia parla di lui che si rende conto che non hai mai soddisfatto una donna in tutta la sua vita e va da una sex worker per farsi insegnare. E fin qua, figata, no?
Book Review Title: Taught Right by Rhianna Burwell (She Teaches Him Book 2) Genre: Novella, Erotic Romance Rating: 5 Stars I was immediately laughing at realising the Joey in this book was the one nighter that Emma walked out on in the first book after she thoroughly destroyed his ego. It turns out that Joey is aware of how bad he is in the bedroom but he doesn’t have the faintest idea of how to make himself better. I really appreciate that Burwell made Joey aware of his problem and normalised men discussing their issues with each other and it’s Joey’s friend, Jeremy who gives him the idea about hiring a sex worker to teach him the finer points of pleasing a woman. He is eventually set up with Ava, who wouldn’t normally take on new clients this way but since Joey was referred to her by someone she has known for a longtime see agrees. From the second Joey walks into the hotel, Ava knows he is so nervous and wants to do her best to make him feel at ease. Before heading up to the room, they talk for a little bit where Joey confesses that he doesn’t know how to please a woman and this doesn’t faze Ava since she knows that most men don’t and not many are like Joey, that are open to taking instruction. Like with Emma and Finn, there is an immediate attraction between the pair that is only heightened by Joey’s eagerness to please Ava. While Joey does maintain a lot of control in the bedroom, he responds to Ava’s every instruction with enthusiasm which only furthers Ava’s pleasure. Joey gets to experience pleasuring a woman for the first time and loves it storing every bit of information away for later. By the time it is over, Ava is conflicted since she wants to see Joey again outside of the hotel room and he does too but she isn’t sure whether to do it or not. When Joey asks her on a date she agrees and agree to work through her chosen career with each other rather than just demanding that she doesn’t do it anymore. Overall, I really loved Taught Right but I can’t wait to get into the third book since this is following Jace, Finn’s younger brother and his female best friend and friends to lovers is a genre I am completely weak for.

I thought book 2 was better than book 1! I give this a 3.5 stars from book 1's 3 stars. I connected with both Joey and Ava way more, I felt this was. more genuine and felt more realistic as contemporary romance. I will be reading the next books in this series since its getting better with each story so far, hope it keep going :)
I thought the concept wasn't something a guy would ever do (hey this is fiction, I get it, but you can tell a woman wrote this man because most will not care about pleasing a woman like Joey does - need one of him added to my book boyfriend list hahaha). Despite this type of worry not taking up space in a man's head, Joey is definitely a keeper! I thought Ava was perfect, I loved her attitude towards Joey in the beginning, set the tone for him to be comfortable and to open up and let things happen. I did also love how he asked her out, they both were so cute!
Thought the steam was fabulous on this one and the ending was fantastic! I thought this one was so close to being a 4 stars from me but there was quite a bit of repetitiveness in the first 1/3 of the novella. The internal monologue from Joey was getting annoying, I thought the author could have culled it and added a little more to this story instead, because I really liked the chemistry between these two. Loved he met Joey in book 1 and he got his HEA. And did I mention the epilogue is fabulously steamy but swoon worthy at the same time!?!?
The premise of the story has promise. But it’s poorly executed.
Joey can’t fuck. After having a woman get up and leave in the middle of sex he hires a professional to teach him how to fuck.
He’s nervous and embarrassed, Ava is the professional and willing to help him for his money. The lead in for the sex starts. And oh no! She’s catching feelings(after what seems to be a maybe 30 minute interaction.) I’m just saying, you cannot turn a hoe into a house wife…the sex starts and for someone who “can’t fuck” and needs help she only give him one piece of advise for the entire interaction, and magically he’s able to make her cum x2? The dirty talk is good if you like praise with degradation. But the description of the sex is pretty unspicy for spicy content. And it’s a personal preference thing I’m sure, but his “I’m going to cum in my pants because I just made you cum with my mouth, so I need you to not talk so I don’t because your voice is sexy” thing is annoying.
And we end with a HFN? Why? Let fucking be fucking, we don’t need feelings. We did not get something with “spicy novella” in the title for a love story, we got it for the sex…
In 74 pages we get backstory of conflict, solution to fix the problem, meet up, sex, feelings, and a “can I take you on a date?” HFN ending.
I’m sure this novella/story checks all the boxes for many people it’s just not for me.

-Inexperienced, adorably nervous MMC -Understanding, confident, sexy FMC -Sex work positivity & safe sex🎉 -Communication -Vulnerability and trust -Dirty talk -Praise with a light sprinkling of degradation -One night -Dual POV -HEA
Similar to the first novella, there’s not really any teaching which was a little disappointing. More about connecting with someone, finding what they like and enjoying each other.
The FMC does take control in some of the situations, dominance kinda ping-pongs back and forth which is nice, but I would’ve liked the FMC taking more of that control and teaching exactly what the MMC needs to know… yknow?? — Blurbs are a little misleading that way
But despite that, it’s a great read, realistic smut, and not over the top
I absolutely love Ava (FMC) — She’s confident without being cocky, she’s sexy, vulnerable, and totally open, calming and just so easy to love
Joey (MMC) is nervous and adorably embarrassed due to his situation, but once he gets into the grooves of things he’s *chefs kiss* 💋🤌🏻
He’s definitely a fast learner
Great characters that are easy to connect with
Loved the bonus chapter that connects with the first novella
Definitely read this if you want 70% smut and a quick, sweet read!
Short novelette about a guy who isn't good at sex, so he ends hiring a professional. Good, Great, Right ? So they meet at a bar and when they get to the act, all of a sudden the guy doesn't need that much learning because he is not bad at it ? Like, girl, get a grip ! How are you as a pro who gets hired for sex, falling in love with this guy after like 30 minutes or an hour. (realistic, much)
Another thing which was unrealistic this guy had a woman walk out on him because he was bad but with our FMC he knows how to dirty talk and makes her come back to back with minimal guidance (be freaking for real)
