WishFire

What happens when the reserved bookworm lets the sexy genie out of his bottle?
Orion
For more years than I cared to count, I’d been magically bound to grant wishes. And while fulfilling naughty fantasies wasn’t exactly a hardship, centuries of doing it had a way of burning a djinn out. I was counting down the days and satisfying clients until I’d collected enough wishfire to be done. I was cruising down the fast track to freedom until I saw her. She had more pent-up desire than anyone I’d ever encountered. And then the unthinkable happened—I fell for her.
Ember
As a shy bookstore owner, I’d resigned myself to finding love between the covers of my favorite romance novels. But I had needs and secret desires, which led me to The Wishing Well … and him, one of the club’s sexy owners. He seemed to want me, and heaven knew I wanted him. But he was hiding something. Something big. Were my wishes going to get me burned?

Granting wishes has never been so sexy! Orion and Ember's story is MAGIC! There is passion and some very steamy scenes but the story takes center stage. You see the good and the bad of relationships and I love that that everything isn't perfect. Watching them grow and learn as the story progresses is the best part. You will also meet a crew of secondary characters that leave you wishing for their HEA. I can't wait for the next installment of this series. Highly reccommend!

Wishfire
Saturday night at the Wishing Well was busy as usual. The Wishing Well is a unique night club. The first floor is just like a regular night club with music, dancing, alcohol and lots of attractive people. If you have a membership there is a second and third floor that offer other opportunities and services. The fourth floor is business offices and living space for employees/partners. Orion is a Djinn that manages the Wishing Well. He and other Djinn/genies working at the club fulfill wishes. He and others wear magical devices that siphon wishfire energy for their Tarik. Orion has been magically bound to grant wishes and someday he will have siphoned enough to be free.
Ember is the owner of a book store, Turn the Page. Ember is a shy woman that experiences her thrills through the pages of books. At the Turn the Page store there is a weekly book club where women get together to discuss book, gossip and their latest adventures. Joy, a book club member comes into to her store looking radiant and rested. She tells Ember about going to the Wishing Well and some of the activities. Ember is curious and a little thrilled. Maybe this is something she could or should do. Everyone has secret wishes and desires, don’t they?
When Orion feels the wish potential in Ember it is off the charts. He is intrigued more than he has ever been for a human. Ember is also intrigued with Orion the handsomest and most charming of men. Orion is so close to being free of Tarik and being magically bound. Can he share the wishfire with Tarik to be free? Ember is falling fast for Orion. Could these feeling be real?
What an interesting perspective for Djinn and wish fulfillment. I enjoyed this book. It was a page turner. I loved the musical references on each chapter, they really helped set the ‘scene’. The world building in amazing and I can’t wait for more. Grab this book it will be eye opening and a great story. I learned about a Shibari, interesting to say the least.

I love a good paranormal romance. I enjoy that awkwardness when a truly human character faces a different reality. Ember fits that theme perfectly. Perfectly curvy and a bit shy, Ember is a quiet bookshop owner who keeps to herself and her small world, yet yearns for a bit more. Losing herself in her books (like all of us right?), she overhears a conversation that changes her entire world.
I have limited experience reading books on djinn. The author takes a very creative take on their origin story as well as their purpose in the world within this novel. I like a story where I am not immediately enamored with a character and I would say Orion was that for me in this story. I didn't like him. He felt so alien to me, un human. But then it clicked in my head he is not supposed to be. And I think the author captures this perfectly. Seeing how truly non humans interact in our world was nicely done. The obstacles it creates between the main characters helps provide some angst and twists. I found myself rooting for this djinn in the end.
I think the world created by the author is refreshing and I truly hope she explores more in future tales.

After reading the prequel (Shooting Star) and then this one, I just know this is going to be an epic series.
I liked how both the H and h had to struggle a bit to get to their HEA. It wasn’t easy, especially for the H, but they were able to make it work.
Now, I will admit some of the stuff the H had to deal with (when it came to the position he and the others were forced into) had me a little nervous, but thankfully the author wrote it in a way that settled those nerves and had me feeling bad for the H and his friends. In the end I just wanted them all to get HEAs, including Tarik which surprised me.
Overall I really enjoyed this book. And even though its a standalone, I do recommend reading the prequel first. It’s a good story but it will also give you a little more background on how the H and his friends ended up in the situation they’re in and how it all began.

Happy Reading Everyone🖤

There is a prequel that I recommend.

This story has light BDSM in the form of fulfilling wishes at the club. Ember is looking to explore and Orion is fulfilling his duties to be set free. They want each other, but Orion has a secret. Once he shares they connect, then crushes Embers heart and she refuses to listen causing them both to be miserable. She feels betrayed by Lyra her friend. Lyra is torn between friendship and a long time love. Lyra finally convinced Ember to listen after she disappeared and completed a book while away that mirrored her emotions of how she saw things and what she wanted.

Wish Fire is a fun paranormal romance unlike anything I've read before. Orion is djinn and is required to collect the energy of wishes for himself and for a god he is bound to work for. Ember is a shy book worm. She lacks self confidence and is stagnant. The meeting of these two starts something that neither expected. I live them together. They both learn a lot about themselves and their true desires. Really unique read with great writing and awesome characters. I was given the opportunity to read a copy of this book.

Wow. I started WishFire 5 hours ago and haven't stopped for food, coffee or anything. It is that sort of no stop read.
I related to Ember and her insecurities. I think we've all wanted a man like Orion to see us first, to fall in love with us first, and to make our fantasies come (or is that cum?) true.
The way Charli weaves in her love of books and book boyfriends and food makes me want to dive into her world and give up anything for one wish.
I did receive an ARC copy for free, but I'll be downloading the 'real' copy from KU just so I can reread that scene in the library.

What can I say........ Orion is a genie magically bound to grant wishes of a rather intimate nature and earn his freedom. Ember is a quiet bookstore owner and secret writer. Together they are everything.

Orion has lost his enthusiasm for his path and feeling at a loss until he meets Ember. She want to enjoy new experiences but is she brave enough to take that step. Together they help each other but can they stay together?

I really enjoyed reading this book. I love the premise of club run by genies that have to grant wishes to gain their freedom, and can't wait to read the next installment.

Sooo good

The characters were so intriguing and I just couldn't stop reading. This take on the DJINN was entirely original and a pleasant surprise. I got so lost in the story that life took a back seat for a few hours. Lol. The side characters enhance the story and have a depth of their own. Definitely worth the read.

I enjoyed reading about Orion and Embers story. Love how they meet and how their relationship develops in to love. Love that Ember is able to learn what she wants and comes out of her shell that she put herself in thanks to what her mother did to her and accept what Orion is. . Look forward to reading more books in this series.

Loved this book.
The characters were believable and the storyline was something that I had not read before. It was neat to see the other side of the "bottle" so to speak. Looking from the point of view of the Djinnand what brought them to this place was refreshing and very enjoyable. I cannot wait til more books on the Djinn come from this author! I would definitely recommend this book, especially the relationship between the characters. It is hot and heavy and a wonderful read. I flew thru the book. It kept my attention the whole way. Thanks for the opportunity to read this well written story!
