Cymm Reich possesses a rare, magical aura that hasn't been seen in a millennia. He does not realize he has this power until many years later, but the gods already know. The first god, Terazhan, sends a dwarven cleric to validate this, and begin training the young man to become a holy warrior in his name (a Paladin). At sixteen-year-old, Cymm's family is massacred and village razed. While Cymm struggles to discover himself and his place in the world, he is tempted by evil and follows a path driven by vengeance. As his fears and self-doubt escalate, the benevolent Terazhan offers him a glimmer of hope to defeat the dragons responsible for murdering his loved ones. However, a dark secret entwines this gift of power, and the chain of events set in motion could change the history of the world forever. Meanwhile, a quirky priestess named Lykinnia has captivated Cymm. Her intellect is superior to the gods themselves and she has other plans for his righteous powers. Invaluable friendships and enemies are made by an upstart Cymm on his epic quest to slay the dragons.

A brand new take on a classic fantasy, with dragons, heroes, and magic! If you enjoyed Eragon and the like, you will definitely love this book! The worldbuilding is very well thought-out, with every detail in place. The characters are also likable and relatable. I also liked the professional layout of the book.
I loved every part of the story, especially the way it cut right into the action from the very first page. The sorrow of the scene where Cymm loses his entire family and village is very real and heartfelt. All in all, a fresh and imaginative story, can’t wait for more! I received a free copy of this book from the author to review.

Fantastic read! From the very first page, I was gripped by the storytelling. The author does a wonderful job of creating interesting characters, and the book is well-paced, both of which enrich the reading experience. I loved the detail and descriptions, the world-building, the story/plot... all of it! It has everything you want in a fantasy story. If you enjoy the genre, you'll enjoy this book.

There is a lot going on. It is very fast moving with a lot of action. I would have preferred taking a little more time to develop Cymm and his character. There is just too much, too soon.
