With summer just around the bend, Kate is delighted to see how Faith Briar Church's Faith Freezer Program is meeting the needs of the elderly citizens in Copper Mill. But when a series of thefts indicates that one of the volunteers is stealing from the shut-ins, the whole program is cast into doubt. Who would do such a thing? Kate begins to investigate, but ancient secrets, old jealousies and long-lost love complicates the truth. Meanwhile, Paul is harboring a secret of his own: his new bluegrass band, hoping to perform at the upcoming Summer Concert series, is practicing at the notorious roadhouse The Dew Drop Inn. The group's jam sessions end in discord, and their location leads to suspicions about the pastor's real pastimes. As they struggle to bring harmony back to Copper Mill, Kate and Paul are reminded that they can always have hope for the future, for the best is yet to be.

Kate is happy with how the fair the freezer program is going, until she finds out their are thefts going on and it has to be one of the volunteers. While she is investigating, old secrets, lost love and jealousies get in the way. One of the men is mad his girlfriends brother broke them up so he gets in a poker game and takes all the brothers money. The money was actually stolen but everyone blamed the man instead of the brother for taking it. Seemed really odd and took away from the story. Paul has been seen in a local dive and people are talking about it. Kate finds out he is trying to be in a band but their singing and playing is awful.

Oh my stars, this book was awesome!!!
Okay, the plot was one of the best in this series. Very enthralling and moving along! And the characters--so good!! (Like unique and just awesome!)
Plus, Renee was in here a LOT which was a good change from the book before this. I did feel that maybe SOME of the time her personality was slightly forced, but I loved it so much, that I hardly noticed!
This book kept me guessing who was behind everything the whole time, and I didn't know who the "perp"--as Renee would say--until Kate discovered it. I didn't like how Kate wouldn't put certain characters on the suspect list so to speak even though there was definite evidence on them, but I felt it was still written good.
PLEASE READ!!! Awesome book in this series!!

It was a good book to pass the time. It was very fast paced but kinda boring if I'm going to be real. I loved the characters especially Matt because of his autism. I loved the christian themes thought-out the whole book but the mystery was very easy to figure out. I like alot lot of action mostly dystopia fantasy. I was just disappointed on how the story line was very choppy and short. Other than that I liked it. I recommend it.
