Trapped in Ga’ee space, Leviathan runs for its life.
And the lives of its crew.
Declan Payne and Harry Wesson decide to go on the offensive. They have no choice.
They can’t go home. It only delays the inevitable.
The Ga’ee march relentlessly into the space of the seven races while turning an inward eye toward the interloper, the ship they call God1. They direct tens of thousands of Ga’ee carriers to destroy Leviathan.
The silicon-based life forms have to be stopped.
Declan Payne comes up with a plan, and no one is sold on it, but it’s the only plan they have. Who has to die for humanity to win?

I see my other lives, a career in the Marines, those damn hand-written tests in law school, a business consultant, as if they're stories from a book. I see my books as if I lived there, as if I were friends with the characters. All things we remember are behind us, only those we imagine lie before.
I'm not sure which place I prefer, but I don't have to choose. They live together in my mind. My books have some award nominations, they have bestseller tags across multiple countries. I write about justice, honor, and loyalty because that's what I care about. My stories are mostly set within worlds that haven't been, but could be. We have to be ready for when those times come.
No matter where I went, I always had a book with me. Thanks to 21st Century technology, I now have hundreds of books loaded on my phone and always with me. This breakthrough allows me to binge read my favorites. How many books would I have read on deployments had I not had to have a physical book with me? I paced myself so I wouldn't finish too quickly.
We aren't encumbered like that now. I love the works of Robert Heinlein, Anne McCaffrey, JRR Tolkien, Robert E. Howard, and so many more. I have been compared to Andre Norton and that is humbling - she was an incredible author with a huge list of novels to her credit. With every new book, I aspire to live up to those that you, the readers, have compared me to.
Through a bizarre series of events, I ended up in Fairbanks, Alaska. I never expected to retire to a place where golf courses are only open for four months out of the year. But that's the way it is. It is off the beaten path. My wife and I get to watch the northern lights from our driveway. Our dog has lots of room to run. And temperatures reach fifty below zero. We have from three and a half hours of daylight in the winter to twenty-four hours in the summer.
It's all part of the give and take of life. If we didn't have those extremes, then everyone would live in the sub-arctic.
I really did enjoy this series. FYI- In October it will be available as a series bundle, which I would highly recommend. It will have all the adventure and action all in one click. I saw this was going to br an option after I read the first book but by then I was hooked and way was I waiting until October. I wanted to know what was happening next, right then. It wasn’t within me to wait to see what was going to happen next. No way! I really enjoyed the character, especially the crew of Leviathan. Most of their characters are built out with enough depth to really give them interesting character and depth to make you really involved in their military missions and you pray that none of them will be killed. At the beginning the Payne crew is well known for getting the job done and all the crew making it back. That’s why they’re called out to investigate the alien ship that has uncloaked & the world knows it’s a ship from an old alien race. The Payne crew has found and investigated many ships like this that have just been ancient, stripped out hulls. This one looks intact but is it? They first have to get inside & no one’s been able to do that so far. Is there a new race onboard; are they still alive? Is that why it’s shown itself now; it needs help in some way, is it a friend; or is there a more diabolical reason? You’ll have to read it to find out. You’ll be glad you did. You’ll be hooked from the beginning. Lol. It’s one of those series. Enjoy! Thanks to Mr Martelle for another really great series. 👍👍
I read this book every spare moment. I really enjoy these characters & would love just one more book to see who has kids, who goes into politics & whether they all vacation together; kind of like TH Walton & gang!
Fast-paced action, amazing feats & Major Payne's record stands; he brings all of his team home. Again. This book is well worth the time spent reading it.
But on to bigger, different stories. This prolific author shows how much he loves his job & he does it marvelously. I'll be reading the next series too.
But I will miss Leviathan the most. Bye for now Lev. Thank you for saving the Eight Races!
No One Wants Peace More Than Those Who Fight The Wars
Leviathan was created as the greatest warship in the universe with one sole purpose, impose peace. Not simply peace through strength, for that can be done mindlessly, but rather peace in place of war in order for all races to achieve whatever heights they could attain.
Leave it to a violent race such as humanity to lead the way. Without need to constantly defend oneself, what is humanity capable of achieving? Who knows? One thing is sure, Leviathan will be there watching it happen like a proud grandfather.
Battleship Leviathan, Declan Payne and his team fight the good fight to the bitter end. I’m not sure how Americans would say it but the English would say that this story is very gung ho. Impossible situations call for impossible victories and these are to be found throughout this series. Space opera at its best. There are many more likeable characters than just Declan and his team which makes for a well rounded story.
Hey Craig! Your Battleship Leviathan series is more than my pitiful words can describe! What a great ride! I love the characters and their development and the challenges and how they met them!
Thank you for a much needed mental vacation from life!
I just finished reading the last book in the series and loved every single one of them.Right from the first the author makes you feel like your part of the story the way he introduced the people in the story makes you feel like your part of it. A great military action science fiction series and one that you have to read.
What am I going to do? This was the final book! It was worth the wait. Leviathan has an extremely important battle to win to ensure the continuation of the human race. He must win this one, team Payne will assist! Awesome story, you need to read it.
Great series. Enjoyed it very much. Well defined characters and fast moving plot make the series special. This last novel tied everything together. I will miss reading about Leviathan and team Payne. Adieu my friends.
A truly epic series with a final volume worthy of the series. Plenty of action, tension, and camaraderie. Martelle knows how to play the long game and does it exceedingly well. Sorry to see the series end but it was an awesome ride!
I adored this series. Always one up on the previous impossible situation, incredible characters, believable, not sparky, intelligent AIs. Great space opera, it was a pleasure to read.
Well rounded climax to an entertaining series. Sad that it has come to an end. Some small gripes with the flow.....but I am a reader not a writer. Sooooo.... Keep it up! Buy the book. It's money well spent.
I couldn't get my head around wether it was the blaze collective or braze I have read all the series so I knew. Thoroughly enjoyed reading. Now I need to find something as good.
Craig Martelle writes very good sci-fi but especially Space Opera. A good main character surrounded by a group of diverse and fascinating comrades in a fast paced series of books which I didn't want to put down until I finished them all
As well crafted as the previous installments, this book finally brings a resolution to the series. Some story threads are still open, and may reach resolution in the future, but for the main themes this series is complete.
Books one to six seamlessly allowed me to keep my interest piqued so that was reading books at five in the morning. The author kept me interested from start to finish, thank you
Well this book revealed the source of the worms. Lev and humanity came shining through. Had to defeat the evil brother of Lev. Read this book. Brings all to end Super Nova way with a great splash. Big D
Great finish to the series and it leaves the question open as to whether there are any other intelligent AI ships waiting to other parts of galaxy.....
All in all a great series that I really enjoyed reading.
I started this series thinking this character talks too much and about nothing! It’s confusing! Then it started getting good. Loved it! A must read from beginning to end. Team Payne was awesome. Want more adventures. Mr. Martelle!
This has been a really enjoyable series. I've always enjoyed Craigs books and he didn't disappoint with this series. A pacifist dreadnought who'd of thunk it?
It was a grand ride from finding a thought to be derelict spaceship to flying across the galaxy on the not so dead ship to save the seven races. Worthy reading.
