Mandy suffered cerebral palsy from birth. She is confined to a wheelchair and is non-verbal. But, with the help of technology she completes her education at the Special School on the Gold Coast and goes on to take training in information technology, developing skills that are in demand.
She moves to Sydney where she takes a position with Microsoft and develops a competence in cybersecurity protection. She helps convict two hackers which draws attention from the national news services. She is head-hunted by a federal government agency and moves to Canberra.
