Six-year old Kerri Connifer vanished while on a morning outing through Redwood Regional Park with her father, Randy. The storm slammed into the park full-force, just as the search parties arrived. The moment Kerri disappearned, Randy's world changed forever. Mark W. Danielson spins another web of mystery in his third reality-based novel. Randy cherishes his weekly early morning walks with his daughter Kerri in Redwood Forest. One of these events ends with Kerri missing! The book details the search for Kerri and her difficult family situation of separated parents. I thought it was well written, maintained a good pace and character development, and the reader was drawn to the family’s pain, fear and frustration of a missing child. Not necessary a fun read because of the subject matter, but I could visualize this being a wonderful Lifetime movie. If you want suspense – you will enjoy this book.
As a mystery/suspense novelist, I read with a critical eye. Mark W. Danielson's Diablo's Shadow immediately drew me in and held me suspended until the very end. It's a gripping tale that's nearly impossible to put down, and I highly recommend it to anyone who loves a suspenseful plot. I confess that I shed a tear or two before the conclusion.
