So that's what was wrong?

To begin with, this book does not teach you the basics of how to to draw. This book is more about using time proven methods of making your drawings look life like.

If you've tried your hand at drawing a picture and were discouraged that it did not look life like, then this book might be able to help you figure out why?

On the other hand if you a new to sketching/ drawing this book will introduce you to fundamental concepts that will make sure your drawing looks life like.

In either case, it will make you conscious of subtle aspects like perspective, horizon etc that will make your work life-like and take it to the next level.

As with the last one, this book is packed with author's own examples and links to demonstrative videos which work well to drive home the point.

I found this book well worth the time and am looking forward to the authors next book.

Insightful and Thorough Content and Great Drawings

I'm looking forward to doing more exercises. In this and his other books there are examples for sketching subjects from photos, as well as sketching subjects using perspective from imagination and outdoors. The book is applicable to doing watercolors, as well as watercolor pencil and colored pencil. I am a beginner with some classes, and I need to work on perspective, correcting mistakes, and putting a halt to unnecessary habits. Reading this book should help clean up my drawing and sketching. An immediate goal is to broaden my view and have a plan that can improve my overall approach.

Not clear on determining VP. Thought this book would be a good reference based upon description, alas I was left wondering how to find vanishing point. Sketchers May find this interesting for the examples shown

Sketchers May find this interesting like that there are hyperlinks for reviewing examples of his work. They are very interesting

Understanding perspective

I was disappointed in this book. Reading it was not easy. Part of
the sentences, especially at the ends. The words were cut off, and some
of the pitchures could not be centered on the pages. For someone new
to learning perspective this book is difficult to comprehend. I would not
recommend this book for. New artist's.

I was surprised

The basic knowledge was enough to capture my interest in sketching again. I stopped in middle school and feel inspired. Also became aware of similarities between the visual concepts of "composition" and "perception" and audio music production.

A nice book for Pandemic born Artists

Easy to understand basic concepts but no need for elaborated stories....More drawings can be added to create value rather than theoretical chapters.....
