GREAT SHAPE FOR A BOOK THIS AGE-REALLY IS LIKE NEW THE COVER ON THIS BOOK SHOWS VERY MINOR EDGE WEAR. THE COLORS ARE STILL BRIGHT AND VIVID AND JUST VERY MINOR FLAWS TO THIS COVER. THE BINDING IS STILL TIGHT AND THE SPINE DOES HAVE SOME MINOR CREASES BUT NOTHING TO RUIN THE INTEGRITY OF THIS GREAT BOOK. THE OUTSIDE PAGES HAVE YELLOWED BUT THE INSIDE PAGES ARE STILL IN TERRIFIC SHAPE. EVEN WITH THESE MINOR FLAWS, THIS IS STILL A WONDERFUL PAPERBACK BOOK.
Janet Ellen Morris (born May 25, 1946) is a United States author. She began writing in 1976 and has since published more than 20 novels, many co-authored with David Drake or her husband Chris Morris. She has contributed short fiction to the shared universe fantasy series Thieves World, and edited the Bangsian fantasy series Heroes in Hell. Most of her work has been in the fantasy and science fiction genres, although she has also written several works of non-fiction.
Morris was elected to the New York Academy of Sciences in 1980.
In 1995, Morris and her husband and frequent co-writer Christopher Morris founded M2 Tech. Since that time, their writing output has decreased in proportion to the success of the company, which works with U.S. federal and military agencies on non-lethal weapon systems and software.
I really enjoyed this series which surprised me since science fiction is not my favorite. I especially liked the characters. None were perfect, and they each horrified me at different times. I wanted them to do well & behave! Great ride!
Intense finale for the series! I love that this series kept me guessing all the way through to the end. Aside from the rich world building (I want to see more of the universe that was only hinted at!) and the rich, descriptive language, I love the glimpses at the scientific theories that allow interstellar travel. I noticed small details hearkening back to our era and love how she shows diverging cultures and that her characters are multi-dimensional. The "bad guy" isn't a trope here, it is a point of view. If you want to see an original view of the future, I highly recommend this series!
Earth dreams brings Janet Morris's Kerrion Consortium trilogy to a satisfying conclusion. The entire trilogy holds up very well some thirty plus years later.
