A DECOY recruited to be a spy
A PRINCE compelled to become an assassin
A SERJAH pressured by an unwanted crown
A WORLD covered in shadows Mere months ago, Clare was just a kitchen maid. Now, she is a decoy for Princess Serene and a novice spy, caught in the royal family's web of secrets. While journeying to Mortise to finalize the princess’s betrothal to Serjah Desfan, Clare lives for the stolen moments she has with Bennick, the bodyguard who is quickly claiming her heart. But when a notorious assassin is hired to kill her, Clare’s life and the alliance hang in the balance. In Ryden, Grayson prepares to leave for Mortise with his brother, Liam. Their orders are to ignite a war between their enemies, and Grayson has been tasked with assassinating Princess Serene. It may cost his soul, but he is ready to comply, as long as he gets something in return: freedom for Mia, the girl he loves. But the more time he spends with his brother, the more he begins to wonder if Liam is what Grayson wishes he had the courage to be . . . a traitor. Desfan feels trapped. By his disapproving council, his impending marriage to a stranger, and the imminent arrival of enemy princes who may not want the peace they profess. When a dangerous drug threatens his people, Desfan jumps at the chance to rely on his swords instead of politics. But his investigation uncovers more than he bargained for—a plot that may destroy Mortise from within. Eyrinthia hovers on the edge of war. Spies. Rebels. Traitors. All must choose a side. Royal Spy is book 2 in the Fate of Eyrinthia YA fantasy romance series, and should be read in order. If you like swoon-worthy romance, complex characters, and non-stop action with epic twists, then you’ll love the captivating world of Eyrinthia! ***Paperback includes a bonus short story, “The Decoy and the Bodyguard”, featuring Bennick during his first day with Clare. Of course, things go terribly wrong...***

“Death is not easy to understand. Especially when one is taken unexpectedly. But you cannot let the grief overtake you. You can feel it, but don’t let it consume you.”

Royal Spy is the highly anticipated sequel to Royal Decoy. A book that I’ve talked about as I was reading and way after I was done reading it. It’s one of my favorite books from last year, so I was in a panic to read this book. If I was mind-blown with the first one, then I’m completely destroyed with this one.

We're back in Eyrinthia and the world is full of dark and nasty secrets. All hell is about to break loose and everyone must choose who they'll stand behind. The Princesses life is on the line, so her decoy is needed more than ever. Secrets are exposed, questions from book one are answered, and a swoon-worthy assassin makes his appearance. You can never fully prepare yourself for the adventure this book takes you on. But be ready for your stomach to drop and your heart to race as you read this thrilling ride.

This book was action-packed, emotional, and very twisted. There were moments where my jaw just hits the floor with shock. I wasn't sure if my heart would ever stop racing from reading these scenes. I loved it. Every single page was just amazing and I wish everyone would give this series a try.

Bennick! He's back! We know how I feel about him but I hate to say this... like really hate to say this but there was someone else who stole my heart. He was so deliciously evil that he now has my heart. The Rose! The damn Rose! He swept me off of my feet with his wicked charm and his devilish ways. He reminded me of Jacks from the Caraval series and I was hooked since he made his appearance on those pages. *sigh* Why do I love bad boys so much?

Royal Spy was one hell of a sequel and now I'm desperate for book three. I can't wait any longer to read it. Everything about this series so far is very unique and twisty. It's what I love in a series. There's never a dull moment in these books and they are all well thought out. I must prepare myself for book three because I know it's going to be the death of me.......

I have PERISHED.

I cannot fully articulate my love for this series. I love every POV, every plot thread, the romance, the intrigue, the action, the subterfuge and politicking. I am SLAVERING for Book 3 and need it, like, yesterday. Because that ending....OUCH.

BRB recommending this series to everyone.

I am literally, in tears right now. I feel numb. I just finished reading my ARC, provided by the author for my honest review. This is quite honestly my favorite Indie author series. Hands down, the best. There are many, MANY talented indie authors, whose books leave an imprint on my heart. If you ever doubt an indie, read this series!
My gosh, the first book roped me in and had my heart fully committed to this series. This second installment has my heart bleeding. Frost does such a phenomenal job of bringing the characters to life and giving them souls that you are instantly attached to or that you will instantly loathe. She writes so many layers to these characters. I am attached and broken after this book and it ended in such a way, my heart cannot take the suspense. The author is very smart ending it the way she did, but for this readers heart, it feels so cruel.
Enough about how empty I feel right now. Let's talk characters. Bennick is still my favorite character and he still make me blush and gives me those silly little butterflies. I love how much he loves Clare and I hope at the end of this series the two of them find their happily ever after! I adore these two characters.
Venn, Wild and Vera are still some of the best side characters who you always root for and worry about!
Also, this second book in the series has brought forth many other characters who I am fully invested in. Grayson was one who my heart was wrapped around in book one. In this second book I am even more invested in him. He is such a strong character! The hurt he has gone through makes it easy to see why he is the way he is and how Mia means so much to him, as she is the one light in his life. When Grayson tells Mia that she is always with him because she is the best part of him, my heart smiled. We also get to know Grayson's brother's Tyrell and Liam a bit more in this book. In life, there are children who get mistreated and never know love. These Kaelin brothers shine a light on child abuse and what it does to kids. It also shows that who you are raised to be and how you are treated does not define who you are. You get a choice. You CAN rise above it. You CAN be better than your past. Tyrell seemed to be a soul that just couldn't be saved, then Mia is added to his life. This relationship has me feeling all sorts of feelings. To see someone who has never felt love begin to have a light shine through their dark is such a heart swelling thing to witness. I see heartbreak coming and I honestly have no ides how it will happen, but I believe Grayson, Tyrell and Mia are in for a ride and I know no matter what happens, I am going to feel some sadness. I just want to wrap my arms around them all and am both excited and fearful to see how things work out.
We see more hurt in Liam as well this time around and we learn how he, like Grayson , refuses to think like his parents. He refuses to let evil take over his soul. I loved how these two brothers grew a bit closer because being close to their siblings was something they were never allowed to have. It may be late in the game for them, but watching a relationship develop between them had my heart soaring.
Then there is Desfan, the Mortisian Prince who is Serene's betrothed. I love him. He in no way wants the role he has been thrust into, but his sense of duty for his country and the best way to serve them pushes those feelings aside. He still can't help but get himself into trouble, but it's another part of him that makes you just fall in love with him. He is who he is and it makes him so endearing. I can't wait for Serene to finally meet him. I am curious how that will go. I do think they are very well suited for each other and have the same dreams. I just can't wait for so much!
There are also losses in this book, which I won't mention, you'll have to read. These losses gave my heart quite a few tugs. I felt for the characters experiencing the loss. My heart soared to see the loveless feel loved.
I could keep going and going, but the point of all this is, Heather Frost is a force to be reckoned with! The way she spins tales and leaves little trails of hints that once you get to the AH-HA moment you are mid boggled with how she came up with it. This isn't anything like Harry Potter, but I often found myself thinking, She tells stories in the same way Rowling does. So many twists, turns and puzzle pieces, it truly makes Frost one of my favorite authors!
Now, about book three... can I get a rush? My heart can't take the ending!

Oh my. I don't even know where to start! Oh, maybe with this: Happy release day to Royal Spy! This is a book I have been anticipating since finishing the last book and I've been looking forward to this book since the ARC landed in my email. Man, I am loving this series.

It took me a quick minute to get back into the world of Eyrinthia and remember how I knew and loved all the characters. There are a LOT of characters. It's several different stories in one but they all are converging into one place. I could feel the beginnings of this in the last book and with this book, all the players are almost in the same place, coming together in this climactic, intense march. Aaaaahhhhh! This is one of those books that leaves you hanging, with longing and impatience for the next book. I love these characters. I'm so attached to them. The tortured hero thing is addictive.

This book is a bit violent and a bit dark. It will sometimes crush your heart. But it's SO good. Honestly. SO GOOD. I'm hooked. I need the next book right now. I need to know what happens. So much is going on!!! Okay, okay. I'll settle down. Maybe. Actually, probably not. I'm pretty spun up. Hahahahaha

This is most definitely a series you must read in order! It's on Kindle Unlimited if you have that.

Content: peril, violence (some graphic in nature), kissing

Heather Frost is a master storyteller with a gift for creating layered and compelling worlds and characters as well as intricately developed plots.

The books are told from multiple points of view, which is fantastic! Each character has a distinct voice, and their character arcs are brilliant. Each character goes through their share of obstacles, and it’s interesting to see how their journeys parallel, contrast, or complement each other. You really get to understand the thoughts and feelings of all of the major characters, and it’s hard not to become emotionally invested in each of their stories.

Betrayal, assassination attempts, kidnappings, murder, secrets, and more plague the characters. The plot is smart and tense, and the stakes are constantly high for all characters, though for very different reasons. There are so many twists and turns, and both books end with shocking, yell-at-the-book, cliffhangers. And the world-building is massive. The story takes place in many different locations, each with its own unique landscape. They are all dynamically described and vivid, and I like Frost’s use of sensory language and how it immerses you even more into the story. Like the characters, many of the homes and towns contrast each other and highlight the good and bad of each.

I loved this series and am eager to continue it, though I have a feeling Frost is going to rip my heart out again in the next book, as she does in all of her books. I’ll thank her for it too. lol This is one of the best series I’ve read all year!

Good golly Ms. Molly! This book was doing the twist while turning and driving the autobahn! So much going on, with new characters and more focus on precious ones. This author has an amazing “voice.” She’s truly so talented. We are left in a huge cliff hanger and now I’m kicking myself that I have to wait for the next book.

I loved the first book so much. This book was an amazing story of adventure and intrigue but romance was in the back burner. We still got a few tummy drops from our sweet Bennick(insert fanning myself;). He is truly my absolute favorite.

My only other hang up is that along that adventure comes some violence. I truly cringed at times. I don’t enjoy reading that.

I was however glued to certain parts of this book and I even held my breath through multiple pages! I can’t wait to see what happens next.

*I was given an ARC copy of this book (thank you to this author!). All the above opinions are my own.

Anyone else out there in love with every single male character in this series? Don’t worry, because the ladies are just as awesome. Somehow, Frost manages to create such dynamic characters that I immediately fall in love with all of them right from the start. (Some of them I just love to hate.) With the first Fate of Eyrinthia book, Royal Decoy, she weaved the characters into such an incredible world, and Royal Spy builds onto that in the best way, to the point where I have no idea what’s coming next. From traitors to spies to assassins and lots of swoony romance, this book has it all, and even when I thought I knew what was going to happen, Frost managed to turn everything on its head and keep me guessing until the last page! This author has yet to write a disappointing book, and I can’t wait to see what’s coming.

*This e-arc was sent to me by the author to give an honest review in return*

This is the second book in the Fate of Eyrinthia series. So far, this is my favorite book from the series, and for so many reasons. In this book, I enjoyed the author's writing which felt like Sarah J. Mass's writing. The story was beautifully written with an amazing world, characters, and plot twists. As a fan of anything royalty-related, I enjoyed this adventurous book that was packed with action. The pacing was just right and the story flowed really well involving many POVs. In this book, you will discover new cities and palaces with princes and princesses also even guards to swoon over.

This book is written in multiple POVs including some new ones that weren't in the first book. I enjoyed every character's story in this book but my favorite story was mostly Grayson and Mia.'s POV. In the first book, I didn't really enjoy their story as much but this time I was HOOKED into their story. There were more past stories revealed which made it so much more interesting and I feel like a love triangle is about the start. Each character has a great character development so far and I can already sense that so much is going to happen in the third book. I also enjoyed the other character's stories and seeing some of the character's new/old romances. To not make this even longer, I just want to say that the characters were just amazing.

The ending was just great and I was sad to see the story already be over. Book two is not even out yet and I have no idea how I am going to wait another year. As you can see by my review and my rating, everything was perfect about this book. I had no problems with it and if I didn't want to bore you with my review, it would have been so much longer. This is one of my favorite books of the year and if you haven't started reading the books then I have no idea what you are doing. Perfect for those who love royals and Sarah J. Mass (especially Throne of Glass).

Everything you think you know at the end of Royal Decoy? Yeah. It's wrong. You know nothing! Well, maybe like 10% of the things. Book 2 takes you on a crazy adventure, adding new viewpoints and storylines that confuse, intrigue and excite you! There are a lot of characters and sometimes it's hard to keep them all straight. There are a lot of things going on that I would appreciate answers to yesterday. There's a lot of fighting. There's a lot of sarcasm which is often my humor of choice. There's a lot of romance. And like every good series, there's the beginnings of a love triangle 😂
.
But seriously, if I could binge the entire series right now, I would. Give me all of Bennick, Desfan, Venn, Grayson, Liam and *spoiler character that you know but maybe don't love at the end of book 1*. I also want to be friends with Vera, Serene, Clare, Imara and Mia. Heather Frost writes strong and relatable women that can and will fight their own battles but also allow their beloved men to step in and let the readers swoon a little.
.
So, prepare yourself. It's long and I have no idea when book 3 comes out but let's send all the good vibes over to Heather to help speed it along. But it's good. You won't regret it.

Royal Spy is a gripping story with strong, powerful characters. There is excitement, betrayal, love with every turn of the page in this heart-pounding adventure. I couldn't put it down!

Each character is beautifully written and you care for each good guy and despise the bad guys. At times I was frustrated with Clare, but quickly understood her motive to protect and help those she cares about and loves. I was surprised by many turn of events. The characters I cheered for in the first book, earned my respect again and again in this book. Desfan and Imara quickly become favorites. One thing that happened that I was not surprised by, but their motives were shocking. I loved this book! And wow, what an ending!

Although the author does a great job of subtly catching the reader up on previous events, you will definitely want to read Royal Decoy so you appreciate the characters and the setting so much more. Heads up, this is a book about warring countries, so there is violence and talk of blood shed. (Nothing I felt uneasy about though.)

What a good book!!! I read the first book in this series and was so excited to see what would happen in this one.

There are a lot of characters in this series and so many side stories happening at once that I worried I would get confused or overwhelmed. That didn’t happen at all! It totally just felt like I was watching a movie and the pieces all somehow fit together. I’m only sad that I’ll have to wait for Book 3 to know what happens. I guess I can be patient — maybe.

The author continues to build the fascinating world of Eyrinthia, as Clare and Princess Serene journey towards Duvan...

𝙄𝙩 𝙟𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙛𝙚𝙚𝙡𝙨 𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙚 𝙬𝙚’𝙧𝙚 𝙧𝙪𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙤𝙬𝙖𝙧𝙙 𝙨𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙗𝙖𝙙.

On this journey with Clare is Bennick, the princess's bodyguard. They have to keep their feelings for each other secret...

If you loved Clare and Greyson in Royal Decoy... Then you will see a lot more of them in this book... as they both journey towards the same destination - Mortise...

...𝙬𝙚’𝙡𝙡 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙧𝙤𝙮𝙖𝙡𝙨 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙙𝙤𝙢𝙨 𝙞𝙣 𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙘𝙚 𝙖𝙩 𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚. 𝙒𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙬𝙖𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙡𝙖𝙨𝙩 𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙝𝙖𝙥𝙥𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙙?

But one wonders if this will indeed happen because there's an assassin who is out to kill Princess Serene... The Rose...

𝙎𝙝𝙚 𝙛𝙚𝙡𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙢𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙜𝙧𝙞𝙥 𝙤𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙠𝙣𝙞𝙛𝙚 𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙛𝙩𝙚𝙙. 𝙎𝙝𝙚 𝙠𝙣𝙚𝙬 𝙝𝙚 𝙬𝙖𝙨 𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝙠𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙝𝙚𝙧, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙨𝙝𝙚 𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙙𝙤 𝙣𝙤𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙤 𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙥 𝙞𝙩.

We finally get to meet Desfan, who is a Serjah with the heart of a seafarer. His is a strong character arc... He's given up riding the waves to become the regent of Mortise, and is just nose above water governing... while trying to crack a drug ring that is determined to eat away at Mortise from the inside, of Desfan's palace and council...

𝙋𝙤𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙥𝙖𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙠 𝙬𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙗𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙙𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙝 𝙤𝙛 𝙝𝙞𝙢.

We also get to know more of the Kaelins... Liam, the Shadow of Ryden; and Tyrell, who gives Mia nightmares...

𝙃𝙞𝙨 𝙗𝙧𝙤𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙬𝙖𝙨 𝙖 𝙆𝙖𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙣, 𝙩𝙤𝙤. 𝙍𝙪𝙩𝙝𝙡𝙚𝙨𝙨. 𝙎𝙚𝙘𝙧𝙚𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚. 𝘿𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙚𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙨.

If Book 1 of this series set a high bar, Book 2 - Royal Spy raised the game even higher... and the book ended on a cliffhanger so enthralling, I literally can't wait for Book 3...

Thank you Heather, for sharing the books Royal Decoy and Royal Spy, from the Fate of Eyrinthia series with me, in exchange for a candid review.

Royal Spy is such an excellent second book in the Fate of Eyrinthia series. Book one was so good I wasn't sure Royal Spy would be able to keep up, but it did and more. There are so many twists and turns and a lot of action-packed into this YA Romantic Fantasy. I love the world that Heather has created. Clare is still one of my favorite characters and I love to see how she's grown and gained such confidence in herself. She has to show even more courage than before.

Even with all of the many characters in this novel you become attached to many of them. I still love Grayson and Bennick. Frost writes such great dialogue between her characters and I love the culture that's so brightly shown. We also get to meet a new character like Desfan, the Mortisian Prince who is Serene's betrothed. He is so loyal to his country but he manages to do his duty and find trouble at the same time. There are so many more I could talk about but you'll need to read Royal Spy to find out about them.

Your heart will be wretched and shocked by things you didn't see coming. There is some violence with all of the political maneuvering going on.. This story has many up and downs and will leave you wanting more. I do feel like I've been left hanging. How long until book three comes out? Heather Frost knows how to write a great adventure, sweet romance, and heart-stopping moments. If you haven't given this series a chance yet you must put this series on your To-Read list.

Colourful, complex, captivating …
Royal Decoy lured me in, then Royal Spy kept me entranced.
There is so much one could say about this series so far and, indeed, if you look at some of the other reviews, they go on for pages. To keep this one short and sweet, I simply suggest you read the blurbs and reviews for yourself, and if you think it might be for you, then read the books … you won’t be disappointed.
A web of colourful and complex characters, four different kingdoms with converging destinies, power struggles, swoon-worthy love entanglements, and jaw-dropping suspense … this has got everything.
You need to read Royal Decoy first, and I suggest you do just that. I now can’t wait for the next instalment.

Wow. I just finished and I am speechless. What an incredible book. The depth of the characters is impressive and completely draws you in. I found myself attached to the side characters like Venn, Wilf, Karim, Liam, and even Tyrell (which, how did that happen?!) I could read an entire book about each character especially the Kaelin's. They are such a facinatingly twisted family, oh my gosh.

There was so much going on but not too overwhelming and it was the perfect set up for major twists. I feel like too often I can catch on to something going to happen but not this book.

Something I really appreciated was the reality surrounding grief, trauma, healthy and unhealthy (looking at you Kaelins) relationships. Frost, clearly has an understanding of how trauma and abuse can affect a person. And not in a cheesey way like some books. I really felt like every choice a character made was true to them. For example, I am SO glad we didn't see Clare and Bennick do some of the dumb fights some characters in books have. You know, the ones they're doing something to *protect* the other but it's really just dumb.

I am anxiously waiting for the third book. I need to know what is going to become of some of the best, well rounded characters. Ah, I want more.

Thanks Heather for writing this incredible series. Going to go try out Seers now.

Royal Spy was everything I hoped it would be! It’s like HF rummaged around in my brain to produce a book that she knew I’d enjoy.

First of all, Desfan! He was such a fascinating character to get to know in this book. I just loved him from the start! This book hosts a number of POV’s but I’d say it was probably mainly Desfan’s story. He’s the “new guy” and we spend a lot of time getting to know him, his kingdom, his troubles his mischief. It’s all good!

But don't worry! We still see Grayson, and Clare and occasionally the other supporting cast of characters, with an addition to the group....Can I just talk about Mia for a sec?

In book one I thought Mia was just Grayson’s foil - the character put in place to show us Grayson’s other side - that he is capable of love (obsession maybe??). She almost felt like a plot device, a prop - and for book one she pretty much was. But in book two we get a few chapters from her perspective and I really enjoyed seeing things from her eyes - especially her interactions with a certain brother. I definitely didn’t see that story-line coming! But I loved it! Did it tug on my heartstrings a little bit? Well, maybe.

That brings me to Grayson. Ugh, that boy! I do not envy him but I love the coals he is raking through right now (metaphorically) because it shapes his character, molding him into one of those unforgettable hero’s that we root for and love - but then question if we should be rooting for him....I can’t wait for more of him in the next book. More Grayson please!

Clare is the main character that holds this book together. She is brave and sweet. She can handle things on her own but she is also willing to accept help from others. Clare really takes a beating in this book, but she remains strong and confident. In this book we see her relationship with Bennick deepen. I loved all their private moments together - they are so ridiculously cute together! That ending though...!!!

There is plenty more that drew me in to this book: villains I loved to hate, the political and civil infrastructures and intrigue, social customs and conventions that give the world depth, mystery, humor, assassination attempts (of course!), secrets, sacrifice and surprises!

Book two ends on a major cliffhanger!! I won’t give anything away here but oh my goodness I need book three right this second!

A Wild Ride

First, Desfan. I adore him. He's perfectly imperfect. I actually think he and Serene would be well suited together. No, I'm not in support of arranged marriages. But once they get to know each other, I think they would be a good match. If nothing else, he certainly needs someone like Serene by his side. (I also love how his ring is incorporated in the cover.)

Clare is about as foolish as ever. I seriously wanted to slap her upside the head a few times. For the good it would do. But Bennick loves her so... it is what it is.

Grayson, Grayson, Grayson. I'm excited to see how he and Liam work together. I liked Liam right from the start. The library fight scene was epic. Grayson in action is a total badass. Not that he likes that kind of praise. But, his skills are amazing. Hopefully he can use them against Tyrell.

Which leads me to say... I do NOT like what is happening with Mia and Tyrell. Since what Henri told Grayson in Royal Decoy appears to be frighteningly true... it's possible that Tyrell is being truthful with Mia. And that bothers me to no end. OR, Tyrell is messing with Mia as a way to mess with Grayson. And that is also very awful. I despise every part of this story arc. Nothing good can come from it. I cannot emphasize enough how much I don't like Tyrell spending time with Mia.

Bennick is Bennick. And perfect. And good. I wasn't sure it was possible, but I love him more in this book. He's a badass. But still all swoony. His journey is definitely intense in this book. He handles it fairly well. And I'm glad he turns to Clare for support, and doesn't hold all that in.

Serene has a few surprises of her own. She and Clare grow closer, and trust each other more and more. (Don't think I didn't notice how Serene dodged the question about the widow's braid.)

I've been stewing on this book for a month (I received an ARC). And it still gets to me. It is so well paced and full of action, romance and intrigue. There are so many moving parts, I love it all!!! I cannot wait until book 3 comes out!

After waiting nearly a year, I was thrilled to receive an ARC of Royal Spy from the author. Royal Decoy was the first book I’d read by this incredibly talented indie author, and I was HOOKED as I read it on the beaches of Puerto Rico!

I’m not the best at remembering details from a year ago but not to worry! Frost had me right back in the thick of Eyrinthia in the first few pages. The pictures she paints with the written word are vivid and glorious! The character development is so complete and yet I found myself surprised as new faucets of beloved characters were revealed throughout the book. Clare continues to impress with her ability to adapt and show kindness and courage all while kicking bu** when necessary. Bennick, well he just gets better & better and the growing love story between these two main characters is not just for teenagers! I loved the addition of new characters and larger roles for some that were merely hinted at in book 1.

There were more twists and turns than a drive through a mountain canyon and some of the corners were equally as precarious! Just when I’d think I knew what was coming, Frost would pull the rug out from under me. I’ll be honest, I read this on an airplane and I totally skipped the snack/beverage service!

I love how involved and attached I have become to these mid evil characters! Fates that I have to wait to know what happens next! If you haven’t read Royal Decoy, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR??? Hurry up so you can continue the story on May 20th!!! Oh and if you can, plan a trip and hop on an airplane. This is a perfect beach read!

This story is simply amazing. Everything from plot, character building, scene imagery, I feel like I know these characters. And even the ones I should not like, I do like! I hope there is a good synopsis written somewhere so I remember all the little details when book 3 comes out. I think I have found myself a new author to follow.

I loved Royal Spy!!! I also loved Royal Decoy (Book 1), but I think I loved Royal Spy more!

So many of my favorite characters from Royal Decoy still made me chuckle all through the book (Wilf & Venn!!), but it was the new characters that really shined in Royal Spy!

I was so intrigued by the two Kaelin princes that we get to know better during this book. Tyrell might have become my new favorite character, but I can't wait to learn more and more about Liam after I got a glimpse of the real him in this book. It almost....almost...makes me want to learn more about Carter and Peter.

I also loved Desfan, Kazim and the entire world of Mortise. I can't wait to learn more about Desfan's father and see him finally meet Serene.

The Rose! I don't even know what to say about him. I can't say I liked him - he's way too creepy for that! But boy did he keep my attention! I spent an entire night having dreams (nightmares??) about him.

I loved Imara and can't wait for more of her spunk!

I'd highly recommend this book to fellow fantasy lovers!

Well done Heather! Can't wait to read what you write next!

Okay, when I asked in my review of book 1 for more of the world, politics etc to be explained I never thought in a million years I would jump into this book and have that and much much more.

I felt very invested with the characters from book 1 because we got different POV's and we were able to like the characters and learn their personalities much more but the world building was lacking for me a bit as well as the politics.

Now in book 2 you learn much more about the politics involved, the world building and the characters you just seem to love even more after this book.

My heart really beat for these characters and I am so happy I got to discover this series from the author.

There are so many ways that the author could have went with the story but I'm very happy and satisfied that the story is going in a direction that really stays true to the characters.

Fantasy is a hard genre to write as it seems so many stories are washed and re-written with just varying degrees to the story but this one is quite different and I really like that!

When is book 3 coming out!?

“I think... that if women always waited for men, nothing would ever happen.”

So much happens in book two of this journey! I am delightfully overwhelmed by the plot progression and multiple character POVs. I normally don’t enjoy multiple POVs, but I enjoyed every single perspective in this tale. The story has evolved so much from just a girl being a princesses decoy and I loved it! Clare, Bennick, Greyson, and Mia are great characters to follow! And Desfan! Oh how I loved thee! Even the secondary characters were utterly brilliant and I am just as invested in them. I love all the intrigue and I can’t wait to see where the story goes from here! My only complaint was the unrealistic monologuing that went on with the Rose and Yahri. It felt like the story could have given the information without the cliched monologuing of the villainous plots. But that was so minuscule and didn’t impact my overall love of this story and it’s characters!

I loved this book so much! It’s just as good as the first one and the story is getting even more complex and interesting. Not only do we get to dive deeper into Clare, Bennick, and Grayson but we also get to meet new characters like Desfan (the man on that amazing cover) and get to experience a whole new kingdom through his eyes.
This book is so well written and thought out. There are some truly heart wrenching moments as well as some where I laughed out loud, and it surprised me in so many ways.
Like....how am I suddenly rooting for Tyrell of all people to end up with Mia??? (I love you Grayson but I think Tyrell needs her more.)
And everything with The Rose was so disturbingly perfect!
And that ending!🤯
I see what you did there Frost and I am here for it!
Sign me up for book 3!

You know it’s a good book when you end it with tears in your eyes - the first book had me invested in these characters stories - the second has me going all in!!!!
I’m so enjoying all these characters and their stories - how they are written to slowly unveil each layer is such a great pleasure to read.
It’s so hard to not gush about this book like I want to as I don’t want to reveal anything that might spoil it for other readers - and this book so deserves to be gushed over. I can’t wait to see what happens in Book 3 ❤️❤️

So here we are to book two of the Fate of Eyrinthia series and whoa! This was a great. I have been waiting for this to come my way and I am so glad I had the chance to read it. This book had secrets and pretty much all h*** broke loose in this one. It was so what I was looking for! We get a bunch of answers from book one which was fabulous! And I so cant wait for the next one. The stakes with this keep climbing and keeping me on my toes.

The first book was great, and this sequel is even better! There are SO many amazing characters in this story and so much angst happening. I love reading the different POVs, but I found myself so wrapped up in one POV, I wanted to scream or skip ahead when it switched. Phenomenal characters, so much action (how many times must a certain person almost die?!), plot twists, and that cliff hanger has me dying for book 3! Highly recommended for lovers of romantic fantasy.
