Hooking up with my best friend’s brother was a mistake…an unforgettable one. It’s always in the back of mind and having returned to town has brought all those feelings rushing to the surface.
This time, I’m only here to cover my dad’s patients and help run the clinic—all work and no play. I haven’t even seen Gabe Rhodes since the steamy night we shared after he rescued me from a snowstorm. I need to keep it that way. Feelings make things messy and coming home has enough complications for me.
Avoiding him is going to be harder than I thought—turns out Gabe is my new co-worker, and the gorgeous physician isn’t just sharing the practice with me. He wants to share his bed too.
Gabe
Blair O'Connor is back in town, and back in my life…and if we’re not careful she’ll be back in my arms. Being forced to work next to the sexy pediatrician every day is a special kind of torture.
She keeps reminding me she’s only here for a few months—that she has a job to do. We both do. But that doesn’t stop me from wanting her. The green-eyed beauty has captivated me. I know being here isn’t easy for her, witnessing the life her dad built with a new family.
I just have to make her see there are other reasons to stay…like how good we could be together.
Avid reader, writer, mother, and wife! I love to read contemporary romance. Add in a little "spice" or hot guys in uniform pants, and I'm a happy woman. There's just something about diving into a book and engrossing in the magic of your hero and heroine getting their happily ever after.
I like to read Lacey Black's books because they a calm thought out plot that doesn't flows nicely. This book is about a Pediatrician daughter Blair that goes back to her home town to help out in her father's clinic because he has a heart attack and has to be off work to recuperate. Blair and her father doesn't get along but she feels that she should do this anyways. The curveball is that her brothers best friend Gabe that Blair had a romance with 15 years ago is the other doctor in the clinic. Blair and Gabe are polite and courteous to each other at first and then things start to heat up and they start up a new romance. Blair keeps reminding Gabe that it will only last while she is there but when her father comes back she's going back to New York. Blair doesn't talk to her father or his second wife the whole time she is there until the day she ready to leave when he tells everyone he is coming back. This book was a very good read and I enjoyed reading it. It will make you cry, laugh, and also happy when things start to work out for everyone.- Kristina
I loved this story, it drew me in little by little until I was hooked, couldn't put it down. Would definitely recommend for others to read!- Tasha
Pretty Incredible is the first full-length novel in the Pine Valley series by Lacey Black. There is a prequel short story called Pretty Remarkable that I HIGHLY recommend reading but not required. I read it last year in the Small Town Christmas Anthology and I wanted more and Lacey delivered.
It’s been six months since Blair was in her hometown of Pine Valley. Six months since she spent one night with her best friend’s older brother. She felt felt his touch, still thought of him every night, and still felt him in her heart. She wasn’t here for him though. She was in a town she very rarely visited to fulfill a promise to a man she barely talks to. Her father. A man who betrayed their family sixteen years ago. It was only going to be for four to six months then she would be back to Chicago. For now, she was going to help the small town as a doctor in her father’s practice. She was going to hang out with her bestie, and maybe reconnect with friends. She definitely wasn’t going to fall back into the arms of Hallie’s brother…
She was back. The woman who has taken up his mind over the last six months. Now, she was at his practice. Her office was right next door. Will he be able to keep his hands to himself for the next few months?
Hell. No.
I mean, why not have a fling while she was in town? The connection was still there. The fire was still burning from Christmastime. The flirt was on-point. The passion was undeniable. They had an expiration date and an understanding. They were adults. Professionals. They knew there were feelings. No denying that but all they could have were these few months. Right? Right.
I ♥️ Dr. Gabriel Rhodes. Just yum! Sweet, funny, sexy, and swoony. I also ♥️ Dr. Blair O’Connor. She is witty, fun, beautiful inside and out. These two are so much fun, flirty, sexy, and just click. I felt it back in the short story and I feel it even more now. The story isn’t just about these two doctors being good with their hands either. It’s about family, forgiveness, and moving on. It’s beautiful and raw. I can’t wait for the next book! I have a feeling I know who it’s going to be but if not, that’s okay, there are a few possibilities and I am here for both.
Quotes:
She’s the drug I crave, and I’m too weak to fight the pull.
“I’ve been thinking about you all damn day in a bikini, but this is…wow. You’re a vision. A fucking wet dream come to life,” he mumbles before claiming my mouth in a passionate kiss.
“Why, Miss O’Connor, are you wasting my shaving cream again?” She gives me a Cheshire cat smile. “Maybe.”
This kind of storyline usually doesn't appeal to me but I just read about anything by Lacey. And I'm glad I picked this one up. Gabe and Blair's story really intrigued me right from the start. I loved that Gabe was the one who wanted to prove to Blair that they belonged together. The chemistry between them is off-the-charts. I loved it and their banter.
As you dive into this book make sure you grab the free prequel Pretty Remarkable before diving into this book. It really gives the reader just how Gabe and Blair’s love story begins and sets the stage for the story to come.
I really liked the characters in this story. Blair is strong and determined but she has big feelings when it comes to returning to her home town. This story has all the small town feels you except. The one bright spot for Blair in this story is Gabe. He is her friend and college working alongside her in the clinic.
For Gabe, Blair is the girl who got away. He is going to do everything to convince her that Pine Village is where she belongs and that she should stay.
Together these two are a great couple. They have great on-page chemistry. It was a delight to watch them both fall while denying their true feelings. The added piece of an expiration date adds to the dynamic between them. The added element of drama between Blair and her father and her stepmom adds some much-needed emotion to the story. This added dynamic really put the characters to the test. Blair’s relationship with her much younger sister, and that young Aggie helps start to bring some peace and resolution that she really needed. Gabe has the quiet show of love and support to bring balance to all the drama. Gabe doesn’t push but was always there to talk things through with Blair so she could work out what she needed.
Overall, this was a good solid story. I struggled with the writing style. There is a slower pacing to the story and lots of descriptive showing and inferring. If you are looking for an mid-angst small town romance you might give this book a try.
Gabe is the brother of Blair's best friend, so she should have never hooked up with him, but she did, and it was super hot. Neither never got it out of the minds, but nothing else was going to happen since she wasn't about to come back to the town he lived in because of her father's betrayal so many years ago, but the best laid plans amirite?! Blair's father had a big health scare, so Blair does indeed come back to help out with said father's medical practice, and it just so happens that Gabe works there as well, so the sparks are flying all over the place, and they come up with an arrangement. She can't do more than that because she doesn't intend to stay, and I didn't blame her because family is complicated, and her father really did his family wrong. It's that part of the story that really messed with my heart because I could feel her pain like it was my own, but seriously, she & Gabe were perfect together, and in order to find out if they have a future together or not, you know what to do! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Blair has never been able to overcome the betrayal of her father and how it destroyed her family. Years later when her father is ill she agrees to return for a short time to manage his medical practice until he is able to return to work. If that wasn’t enough for Blair to deal with she now finds herself working with her best friend’s brother who is also the man she spent a steamy evening with six months earlier.
Gabe wasn’t looking for more than one night, but he soon realized that one night was not enough. Now that she is back in town, and they are working together the one thing he does know if that he isn’t about to let her walk away a second time without a fight.
Humorous banter, hot chemistry and all the feels as Gabe is so supportive and understanding while Blair tries to come to terms with her past.
Lacey Black is back with a brand new series and the first full length book in it and wow. What a stunner this beauty was. A small town romance that'll steal your heart and wish you could stay there all the time.
Pretty Incredible gives us Gabe and Blair's story and y'all this was quite the romance. Packed to the brims with heat, heart, and allllllll of the feels.. these two took me on a whirlwind journey that had me rooting for them from the very start. Gabe was the ultimate book boyfriend and the swoon factor was soooo real with him. 😍😍
This book did an amazing job setting up a couple future couples in this small town and y'all I'm so so so ready for their stories.
Pretty incredible is an amazing read. I loved this so much. If you love best friends brother and small town romance then you are going to love this one. Gabe and Blair just give you all those feels. I love their chemistry build as Blair is back in town working side by side with Gabe. I love the close knit group of friends that surround Blair and Gabe. I could not get enough of Blair and Gabe together. I cannot put this down. I cannot wait for more Pine Valley series books to come.
Ohhhh I love my some Blair and Gabe! And getting some more of them! I dove into this book and couldn’t put it down! I love these two and was so excited to read more! It didn’t disappoint!
Lacey Black’s new series starts with Pretty Incredible. This is a small-town romance set in the town of Pine Village.
The first story is a workplace romance, best friends brother/sister best friend, second chance. Blair O’Connor left the small town of Pine Village before her senior year of high school after her parents marriage fell apart. She’s never gotten over the moment that caused her family to fall apart and her beloved father’s betrayal. She is returning to Pine Village for only the second time since leaving and she’s not exactly thrilled with the idea but she’s made her decision and is determined to follow through.
Blair is smart, driven and confident in herself, if not a little lost in her world. She has the job she always wanted and lives in a nice place but going home to Pine Village shows Blair what she is missing in her life. The problem is that she’s not ready to move on from the past or let go of the future she set out for herself.
Gabe Rhodes is the older brother to Blair’s best friend, Hallie and after going away for college he has been back working as one of the local physicians in the small-town clinic. He’s a really good guy and loves his life in the Pine Village. He experienced city life but realised that the small-town life is more for him.
He was married but his marriage fell apart with his wife wanting more out of life than a small town doctor. She wanted to be a physician's wife but one in a big city, living a big life. Blair O’Connor could be everything he ever wanted to complete his life, but Blair’s dislike of Pine Village is the roadblock keeping him from reaching for what he wants.
I really enjoyed Blair and Gabe’s story; the fact they had a back story made it easy for them to jump into building something between them. The was plenty of chemistry, banter, and flirting. I felt it could have just reached a little further and been a 5 star read. Honestly, I can’t pinpoint what it’s missing, but for me it was just missing something.
I am really looking forward to the rest of this series thought because if the breadcrumbs Lacey left in this book for the other couples are anything to go by, I think it’s going to be great. . . . Blair isn’t sure she should be returning to Pine Village to help in her estranged father’s local clinic, but with his health scare she feels it’s the right thing to do. Apart from a quick trip home last Christmas to meet her stepsister she hasn’t had any contact with her father or his new family. Other than meeting her stepsister last year the night she was stranded with her best friend's brother is what made the trip worthwhile. She thinks of that night all the time and she has no idea what running into Gabe again will mean.
Gabe has thought of his night with Blair over and over since she drove away and knowing she’s returning he can’t wait to see her and see what they could possibly make of their extended time together. He knows all of her hang ups with her families past but he’s really hoping that he’ll get another chance to be with Blair. ‘Six months has done nothing to quench the thirst I have for Blair O’Connor. But I’m not going to rush this. Baby steps, Gabe. Slow and steady wins the race, and my endgame is her. I want to make her mine.’
Blair had no idea that the partner in her father’s clinic was Gabe. She quickly learns that all the things that they did together last Christmas was just the beginning of all things Gabe. She may have know him her whole life but that night changed everything and now experiencing Gabe in all his glory as one of pine Village’s beloved doctors is a whole other level of him. Picking up where she left off with Gabe is very tempting but she’s only in Pine Village for a few months. ‘Working beside Gabe Rhodes—and keeping my hands to myself—may very well kill me.’
Neither can deny how much they want to be together and despite the time limit on a relationship they don’t hold back. While Gabe becomes surer that Blair is everything he wants, he has no idea how to keep her. Blair finds that Gabe and all her old friends are fulfilling a part of her that she misses from her life in Chicago but living in the same small town as her father and giving up everything she worked for is not something she thinks she can compromise on. ‘I already know letting her go in a few months is going to be hard, but I’m afraid it might be way more difficult than I’m even anticipating. Watching her leave a second time is going to be far worse than the first. That leaves me with two options. Enjoy my time with her, but keep her at arm’s length, or go all-in and pray she doesn’t leave.’
When their time is up and Blair’s father is ready to return to work they’ll have to say goodbye. Neither are aware how hard it will be to actually cope with the separation. ’I need her. She’s my oxygen. The sunshine that chases away the night sky. The reason I was put on this earth. And she owns me completely.’
After reading the prequel to this book, I was oh so excited to read Gabe and Blair's story and see where life would take them. I felt the prequel was the perfect appetizer as much as this book was a scrumptious meal.
Blair is back in town, working in place of her dad, the town's doctor, for a few months after his major health scare. While her father recovers, she's in town, helping with the clinic but also this has given her a chance to re-connect to the town and the people where her roots belong. Also, added perks is the fact that she gets to be with her bestie and spend quality time together.
But there's someone also there that she's scared to see again because she knows and already feels the sparks just thinking about him brings.
She's only here, though, for some time as she can't stay in a place where she's being hurt and has no intention of mending her broken relationship with her father even though she's helping him out for now.
Gabe Rhodes, has a good life and loves his work as a doctor. He might not have much of a love life but after his past, he's definitely reluctant to test the waters. But that night months ago still makes him feel things and he anticipates what will happen when he'll see the beautiful woman back in town now after months of spending that beautiful night together.
Gabe and Blair have the best sweet chemistry that will make you melt and make you go weak in the knees for sure. Ahh.. these two were something else and I loved how easy going their connection was and how irresistible their bond was right from the start.
I not only loved the close friendships and camaraderie between town folks and everyone but also loved how close knit the community is and how caring they are about each other.
I especially loved the many cases we see that doctors have to face, some serious, some a bit funny (because of the reactions) and some that are just pestering patients. But I really feel that doctors are heroes in their own right for how they put the patient's well being first no matter what.
Ahhh... I'm still smiling and swooning after reading this sweet small town romance.
I felt it was oh so beautifully written and perfectly paced, with characters so endearing and relationships that feel so real, that I absolutely loved taking this swoony ride.
Oohhh.... Also what's cooking between Hallie and Logan. Their barbs and poking banter is oh so fun. Then there's Ellie, the single mom and the coach...ooohhh...I'm so excited to grab their books next. Loved loved this one.❤️❤️❤️
I’m a long time Lacey Black reader, and her small town romances are top notch and some of my favorite things to read. She’s launched a new world in her Pine Village series, and I’m here for it! This series kicks off with Gabe and Blair’s story, and I strongly recommend that readers start with the (free!) prequel novella, Pretty Remarkable, to get this couple’s backstory, and specifically Blair’s history.
Blair left Pine Village 15 years ago a broken-hearted, angry young woman whose dream had just imploded. She returned for the first time six months earlier and connected—on every level—with Gabe. Following her father’s heart attack, she finds herself back in Pine Village, filling in for her dad at his practice and working alongside Gabe. All the chemistry and connection from that night is still there, blazing between them, but there’s an expiration date to Blair’s time in Pine Village as she has made it clear she does not plan on sticking around. Gabe hasn’t been able to get her out of his mind following their night together, though. He’s bound and determined to show her how good they can be together.
Pretty Incredible was a fabulous start to what will be another fantastic small-town romance series. Blair and Gabe’s love story was the centerpiece storyline. It was steamy, romantic and emotional, and I loved how they took it slow, building the relationship from friends to more. But this book was more than just Blair and Gabe’s romance, and Black enriched their story with the secondary plot arc of Blair and her father’s drama. The wonderful side characters were everything you expect from one of those everyone-knows-everyone-else small-town. They were gossipy yet supportive, and they elevated the story from a great one to something special.
Pretty Incredible is the start to another one of Lacey Black’s phenomenal small town series. Rooted in friends and family, full of feels and fire, Black has laid the groundwork for a fantastic series featuring endearing characters wrapped up in interesting plots and steamy romances. I loved everything about Blair and Gabe’s sweet and sexy love story, and I’m on the edge of my seat waiting for the next book in this series! Five smooches from me for Pretty Incredible by Lacey Black! ~Danielle Palumbo
I read book two first. In that book, we are not aware of all the drama that went on between, Blair and her father. We just see her and, Gabe together. We do hear, Hallie, teasing her for jumping her brother, the only night they were together when he rescued, Blair in a snowstorm. Gabe in that book seemed so straight-laced so, it was nice to see a different side to, Gabe.
In this book, Blair has returned to town to help out at her father’s clinic. Her father suffered a heart attack and will be out for four to six months. Now, this is the unbelievable part even to, Blair herself, she agreed to do it for him. Not that she was talking to him. But, she needed the break from her fast-paced practice in, Chicago because she was always working. She needed the slower pace of her hometown, Pine Village.
Not to mention her dear friends, Hallie, Ellie, TD, Logan, and the man that inked into her skin six months ago, Gabe. All live there and she can’t wait to be there. She hopes and prays she runs into him sooner rather than later but first things first. Hallie was able to secure the condo next door to hers. Check. Tomorrow she will start work and meet the staff her father has in place. Check. Tomorrow at two the movers come with the belongings she had shipped. Check.
This is where here objective self can stay in control because there is nothing to check off. She’s worried about when and where she will run into him since she doesn't know where he works. All the months Blair’s been talking to her bestie, Hallie, Gabe’s sister since she’s been gone. She didn't know how to ask without her getting suspicious. So, she will have to wait. Imagine her surprise on, Monday morning when her new staff introduced her to, Gabe.
The whole time in town it’s a s-x fest with her and, Gabe although they both catch feelings, although that wasn’t the agreement. She refuses to have a relationship with her father and the homewrecker he cheated with, however, her little sister, Aggie is the sweetest thing and wants a relationship with her. She may be a doctor, but she has to pull up her big girl panties, and deal with them or lose everything important.
This is a good story but the best one is the next one. Ellie and TD’s story. Oh, let’s not forget Brody because they don’t and that is what makes it so special.
Let me preface this review by saying that you have got to read Pretty Remarkable before diving into this book. It’s a free prequel that sets up just how Gabe and Blair’s love story begins and is well worth the read.
When Blair left her small town behind more than 15 years ago, she did so as a heart broken teen who had found her father cheating on her mother with his much younger nurse. While she still became a doctor, she gave up on her dream of working side by side with her father. After he has a massive heart attack, however, she agrees to stand in for him until he’s back on his feet. Even though being back in Pine Village is temporary, Blair can’t help but to fall immediately back into small town life with her friends and with the guys she’s been thinking about for months . . . who just happens to be her new colleague at the clinic!
Gabe hasn’t stopped thinking about Blair either . . . and now that he gets to see her daily, he’ll do anything to convince her to stay in Pine Village. But will it be enough to convince her to stay permanently or will the rift with her family be too much to overcome?
I adored Blair and Gabe! What’s not to love about a small town romance where everyone knows everybody and everything that’s happening . . . and, the newest couple just happens to also be the hottest new gossip in Pine Village! They are beyond sweet together and oh so sexy! Their chemistry is insane and it was fun watching them both fall while denying their true feelings knowing their relationship had an expiration date.
The drama between Blair and her father and her stepmom added a really emotional element to the story. I adored her relationship with her much younger sister, and that young Aggie helped to start the healing process that Blair never thought was possible. Most of all, I loved Gabe’s quiet show of love and support. He never forced anything, but was always there to talk things through and give Blair what she needed.
I’m excited for more from this small town, as I’m falling in love with these characters. I enjoyed how heartfelt and emotional this story was. Blair and Gabe have the Pine Village off to a Pretty Incredible start! 4.5 stars.

This book was the perfect start to a new series!
Lacy Black has an expressive writing style that is perfect for this type of story. I really connected with it. This book was entertaining and kept my interest from start to finish. The plot was very intriguing. I loved the small-town vibes throughout.
The characters were fleshed out nicely. It was easy to relate to them and step into their shoes. The characters had excellent character growth. Blair's character really had to evolve a lot. Each character was well-developed with individuality. The secondary characters added something special to the story.
Blair and Gabe have undeniable chemistry. They have a history together so it adds to the intensity of their dynamic. This book has a he-falls-first-and-hard situation. Gabe was trying to prove to Blair that they belonged together. He was so swoon-worthy.
Overall, this is a small-town romance with an organic story about family and forgiveness. The journey for Blair and Gabe was so heartwarming and full of emotion. This is the story for you if you are a fan of raw stories and memorable characters. I am such a fan of this series and can't wait for the next book!
Buckle up my daddy issues besties we’re in for it this time.
At 17 years old, Blair’s life was shattered after walking in on her dad with his nurse. After moving away for years and keeping as much distance as possible between them, she’s back home covering for him after a heart attack. While dealing with her father is something she can mostly avoid, she can’t avoid her best friends brother who she knows intimately.
After picking Blair up from her car stuck in the snow the christmas prior, Gabe and Blair had a night neither will forget. Now that she’s back in town, the two develop feelings for each other quickly. the only problem is Blair isn’t here to stay, and Gabe isn’t ready to let her go.
This book, whew. The romance was outstanding but the true star is Blair dealing with her issues with her father. It’s so real and heartbreaking. Dealing with betrayal from someone you love is hard, even more so when that person raised you. Blair’s feelings are articulated perfectly. Forgiveness isn’t an easy place to get to, even when love can be found on the other side.
Like I said, if you have daddy issues this book WILL make you cry. the turmoil between loving someone and hating them is described perfectly. Gabe is supportive of Blair working through her feelings even though he’s friends with her father and doesn’t try to force her to make any decisions, even forgiveness. This book is the epitome of working through your issues to love someone completely.
The plot was outstanding, the characters well developed, and the steam was not in short supply. While dealing with serious topics, this book still comes across light-hearted and fun. Blair reuniting with high school friends and falling in love with her hometown all over again keep spirits high amongst the more serious topics.
Overall this was a great book that could lead to a great series. I can’t wait to see where Lacey takes us next.
"There is something so taboo about falling for your best friends brother for some reason, add in a small town where everyone knows everyone’s business, makes the story that much for fun to read.
Blair and Gabe’s story is wonderfully written, they both learn to forgive and open your heart to love again, it’s also about letting go of your past. With laughs, drama and those steamy scene’s, Lacey Black sure know how to write the best hero’s, anyone would be lucky to have their own Gabe.
You will devour Pretty Incredible, what a great start to a new series, I can’t wait to see what awaits the next couple. " ~Stephanie
"I have read a few books from Lacey before, and after finishing this one I was reminded why I enjoy her stories so much. There is a prequel to this book that was so great to read & I do recommend that you do read that - but if whatever reason you can't or don't, it will not hinder your enjoyment of this book at all. I just adore small town romance novels, they are absolutely one of my favorites to read. The whole knowing everyone's business is both charming and frightful at the same time and usually comes along with some laughs as well. Without giving the whole storyline away, Blair finds herself back in her hometown to fill in for her father for a period of time. Gabe happens to work there as well, and also is her best friend's brother to boot - so many tropes to love right here. Add in the great storytelling, the magnificent supporting characters and this book was hard to put down - in fact I read it in one sitting. Adulting be damned!! Another bonus is that there will be more books to come - one happy reader right here. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book" ~Sharon
I received a complimentary early release e-book prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This story has a free prequel, Pretty Remarkable. It's a short book and is an intro to this couple, Blair and Gabe. I think you can easily read this book, Pretty Incredible without reading the prequel but if you do read it, it's a fast read with only 4 chapters and it happens 6 months before this book begins.
This story is a second chance romance, at work as both main leads are doctors and end up working at the same practice. It takes place in their hometown which is a very small town. He is older than her but only by a few years, but he is her best friend's older brother. She is only in town helping out as a replacement for her father who had a heart attack.
Blair left town at age 17 when her father had an affair and tore her family apart. She has not been home to visit really except she came home 6 months before for a short Christmas trip to see her best friend and she also ran into Gabe who is her best friend's older brother and spent some time with him when there was a winter storm.
Now six months later she is back for a few months to help out her father who had a heart attack. She ends up working with Gabe and he is beyond excited and happy to have her back because he fell pretty hard for her six months before. Pretty Incredible is their second chance story and Gabe has to make Blair see what they can have together if she takes a chance on him and their small town.
But it's not that easy for Blair. She likes Gabe a lot but coming home means facing her father and the woman that tore her family apart. Can she make peace with past and learn how to move on and forgive. Well, you will have to read this story to find that out.
Pretty Incredible is the first book in the new Pine Valley series of standalones. I can already tell that I’m going to love this small-town series. There is a prequel novella, Pretty Remarkable that takes place 6 months prior. It is not necessary to read the novella, but I highly recommend it. Reading this after the novella made my heart burst during a few scenes. It makes a particularly romantic gesture so much bigger!
Blair has been estranged from her father since she caught him cheating and she and her mom moved out of Pine Valley. She has agreed to come back to Pine Valley for 6 months to help at his medical office while he recovers from a massive heart attack. Gabe is the other doctor at her father’s medical office. The two have not seen each other since he rescued her during a snowstorm 6 months ago and they spent a night that neither of them have forgotten together.
These two have chemistry that has not diminished in the last 6 months. Even though the two slept together before, they don’t jump right into bed with each other….even though they want to. I enjoyed the friendship the two developed as they worked together and hung out with friends and each other outside of work.
I enjoyed that the story wasn’t just about Blair and Gabe. It was about their lives. I enjoyed getting to know their friends and seeing those relationships. Blair’s little sister, Aggie was adorable and the relationship between the two sisters was beautiful. I loved Hallie’s support of her best friend and brother’s relationship.
This book is steamy, romantic, and sweet. It’s about opening up to new possibilities and forgiveness.
If you've read the prequel you know Blair and Gabe already have history. They've spent an incredible night together and went separate ways. Now she is back and Gabe is preparing himself for the shock because he knows she was and still is special. The time apart didn't help with want and need for her. And now he wants to convince her that what they feel, and share is once in a lifetime.
Blair is returning the one place she swore she wouldn't. The only things making this move barrable is her best friend and her brother, who she couldn't stop thinking about since they shared an amazing night together 6 months prior. Working beside him every day was not what she expected but it's a pleasant surprise. The more time she spends in his arms and her small town the more she feels like she could stay. But past hurts are too much for her and she returns back to the big city. But soon she realizes that maybe the past should stay there, and she should fight for her future - Gabe!
I'm not surprised any more how much I love Lacey Black work. Every time I pick up her book it is the same - full of laughter, hot and steamy moments but most of all swoon and love for her couples.

ARC Review of Pretty Incredible by Lacey Black * * * * * A small town doctor romance with a second chance and filled with family drama!
The last time she was in her home town, she eneded up in a ditch...then in the arms of her best friend's brother...on his couch...naked. Hot! It was one night she cannot forget. One night she does not regret. Now she is returning to assist the town clinic after the father, the man she has refused to speak with for years, has landed himself on bedrest. And guess who is working there too. Gabe. Best friend's brother. The man she spent a passionate night with six months ago. Gabe is playing it cool. His sister's best friend is back and now a colleague. How could he forget that night they spent together? As much as both play it cool, enjoying friendly company and meatloaf with potato delights, they cannot deny the attraction is still there. An agreement is made. It is only for a few months. What happens at the end of it all will be harder than either were anticipating. Sexy shaving cream chaos, cute darling kids wanting a whole family, and Impulsive kisses in front of nasty ex-wives. All the small town drama!
Talk about dealing with family troubles! I don't blame her for not talking to her father. Awkward! Who knew shaving cream could be so naughty?!?!
What can I possibly say about yet ANOTHER AMAZING book from one of my FAVE authors?! Well, for one thing, Lacey Black has outdone herself with this one! Pretty Incredible is just so PERFECTLY INCREDIBLE...picking up Blair and Gabe's story six months after their SUPER STEAMY one night (you can grab the beginning of their story in Pretty Remarkable!) Blair returns home to Pine Village to help out at her estranged father's small-town clinic when he has a medical emergency. Little does she know that her life is about to change in ways she NEVER imagined!
Ms. Black has given us, in her signature style, a steamy, sexy, exceptionally emotional and a little bit angsty story that will insidiously wrap itself around your heart! Blair and Gabe, both separately and together, are entirely relatable and their story has a few twists that make it very difficult to put down! The sizzling chemistry and the banter between them is the glue that binds these two in what feels like a fated relationship! But, Blair's return to Pine Village has an expiry date....but will she be able to walk away from everything when the time comes? Can she forgive past heartbreak and move on? And what about Gabe? *sigh* You'll have to read this "pretty INCREDIBLE" story to find out!
Pretty Incredible is the first book in a new series by Lacey Black! I get so giddy when my favorite authors start new series' and this one is fantastic! Blair left town when she was seventeen and never wanted to come back. Her father's the local doctor and now she needs to go home and help run his practice while he's out on medical leave. To her surprise, Gabe, her best friend's brother and the man she spent one amazing night with months ago is now a doctor at the clinic. She's only there temporary so what's the harm in having a little fun while she's there. Gabe is already falling for Blair and even though he knows she's leaving he can't help but hope she decides to stay. While in town she reconnects with old friends, spends time with her half-sister and spends her nights in Gabe's bed. Will Blair be able to put her past behind her and choose love? Will Gabe be able to let her go when it's time. Oh Lord! Gabe is so handsome and smart and swoony! And Blair is tough, smart and beautiful. They have amazing chemistry and fun banter. I loved meeting all these new characters and Lacey is a master at setting up the next books. I already love them all!
Pretty Incredible is the first full length story in Lacey Black's Pine Valley series. There is a short and sexy prequel that tells the origin story of these two characters most would enjoy but it's not required.
Dr. Blair O'Connor has returned to her hometown to run her father's clinic while he recuperates from a heart attack. Past circumstances and betrayals make this a difficult relationship but Blair is showing up for family, which is admirable. She wasn't expecting to be sharing the clinic with the super hot brother of her best friend and the guy she secretly hooked up with last winter!
Dr. Gabriel Rhodes is only too happy to work alongside the lovely Blair. He tried to get her out of his mind after last winter but now, she has a place in his heart instead.
Great characters. I loved them both and appreciated their maturity in dealing with tough situations. I loved that this book was more than a romantic relationship; it really dealt with all kinds of relationships. Families aren't easy but more often than not, they're worth the effort. Great read!
This story is about forgiveness, moving on from the past and opening your heart to love. Blair is a pediatrician and has a stranded relationship with her father. She comes back to her hometown to cover her father’s patients and assist in running his clinic. To her surprise, Gabe, her best friend’s brother and a past hookup, works at the clinic and will be working closely together. I loved watching this couple’s journey to finding love. It had witty banter, heat, laughable and heartfelt moments. It was great how the side characters remained friends bringing Blair into their circle like she never left. I loved how Gabe and Blair’s friends and family were secretly rooting for them. It was well written with great story development. It’s an amazing start to a new series. I would definitely recommend it and I can’t wait to see who’s story is next and what’s in store for those characters. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest and unbiased review. Even though I received this for free, I have purchased the ebook copy of this book for my Kindle.
I have read a few books from Lacey before, and after finishing this one I was reminded why I enjoy her stories so much. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book
If I had to describe this book in one short phrase, it would be PRETTY INCREDIBLE! Lacey Black created one of the best couples I have ever read. Blair and Gabe are everything I look for in this trope. I shed a lot of tears as Blair had to work through a difficult relationship with her father and discover how incredible forgiveness can be. Gabe helps open her heart to love, friendship, and family. I found myself in sad tears at Blair struggling with her father's betrayal, then turning the pages to laugh at the banter between her and Gabe. He is truly a wonderful hero who struggles with his own feelings of inadequacy and holding someone back from their true happiness. I felt that the characters were written with raw, real feelings, emotions, and even physical attributes, that enable you to connect with them on a deeper level. The supporting characters are all well-developed and I hope that they all become a part of this series soon!
I received a complimentary ARC for reviewing purposes. All opinions are my own.
Coming back home is never easy to do. Blair had to leave because her family unit scattered into pieces. Blair and her mother left behind everything and everyone they loved including Gabe!!!!! Blair's first high school love. While Blair has been gone she grew up to become a beautiful woman and even better doctor. Then her dad suffers a heart attack back home. He is a doctor and Blair agrees to come back and help for a few months. Now back Blair has to confront her issues and other people's issues too! Blair reconnects with her family and Gabe. She finds out Gabe works with her dad. They really get to know each other again in many ways. They have so much in common. Then the time comes for the hard decisions to be made. Go back to their old lives??? Start a new life together with people that love them?? Will Blair stay and her and Gabe take over? Will Gabe leave everything behind for her??? This is Gabe and Blair's love story a second chance for love, family and letting go of the pain. To a future full of everything possible.... LOVED IT!!!!!!!!
