3,5 estrellas.

Does anyone remember that time when football player Marshawn Lynch, who responded to all the Super Bowl interview questions, with, "I'm just here so I won't get fined"?

When it comes to Yozakura Family, I'm just here to see more crazy and life-threatening shenanigans Taiyo will have to go through next. LOL!

While I think I enjoyed volume two a little more because it had so many funny shenanigans, this was another really good volume! Yes, we had some fun shenanigans plus an AMAZING scene for our sweet couple , I felt the later half was much "darker" then the first and is opening the door to a gradual shift in this series. I'm *desperately* hoping the humor of this story will not leave as Taiyo embarks on what will be a personal journey for answers because it honestly is my favorite part of this series. I would be more than happy and content to get only that through the whole series!

However, despite this slightly darker shift, can I just go ahead and call before the anime airs that Sui is going to be a fan favorite? Because I LOVED his character! Totally hoping we see more of him because he's an interesting character and really enjoyed seeing him and Taiyo together on page. You definitely know there will never be a dull moment when he's on it! LOL!

Despite that, I felt a little on the fence when the story ended (because again, I really don't want these fun shenanigans to end or be on the back burner), there continues to be something fun and engaging about this series where I always find myself wanting to read more. Taiyo's everyday life in the Yozakura Family is never boring and always have a good time (even if I feel bad it's at Taiyo's expense LOL).

Looking forward to the next volume's release!

Oh look, some actual plot! Another arc with some government stuff, and some hint at Taiyo's story having more to it than expected. And for once we get some story not directly involving Mutsumi, just him! Which is disappointing because I wanted more romance, but also better because there's something outside of only the Yozakuras in this setting to drive plots. We're getting other organizations! Yay! I think this is probably the best of the three volumes so far and hope it continues getting better from here.

Another fun volume with the Yozakura family with some hints as to overarching intrigue into the real reason why Taiyo lost his family. Exciting!

As I half-predicted in comparing this to Reborn! earlier, Yozakura Family is shifting into more of a "battle" series.

Chapter 18 really felt like a "Their battle is just getting started...!"-type of axe ending, especially poignant for potentially contributing to the so-called "U19 club," but of course the manga continues after that. Chapter 19 goes on to introduce a rival character for Taiyo, Sui. It makes me wonder if Gondaira-sensei was given word of a possible cancellation, and so mildly retooled his series to become a bit more serious...? Sui's presence gives Taiyo new reason to improve his skills, just in time for a higher-stakes arc taking up the latter half of the volume, in which hints toward a hidden "truth" behind Taiyo's family's deaths are suggested, and in which Taiyo will learn to combine his in-laws' skills with an attempt at copying Sui in order to take down this new foe. While it hasn't explicitly happened yet, I'm thinking the introduction of the Hinagiku government spies will lead to something like the Gotei 13 from Bleach or Hashira from Kimetsu no Yaiba, an obligatory "introduce about a dozen new strong guys who may or may not just be giant fucking jobbers."

Big-titty eyepatch lady...!!! And I wish we had more of Kurogao's e-girl daughter...!!!

This was more on a political front. There was a Wedding reception party for Asano and Mutsumi. It is not a normal reception but full of attacks and calculating the new pair. Little bit history on their childhood has been depicted which is cute. Their mother and her thought to have video recorded is so thoughtful. It is not know on how she died. Then Taiyo meets another spy who is under government. He tries to follow Sui but is unsuccessful everytime but he learns some tricks eventually. Even though he is no position to beat him.
Then the corrupted party is introduced where Taiyo works as a girl to uncover their secrets and get evidences. Taiyo doesn't find anything but finally comes to know that the whole time they were making plans using Morse code which is integrated with dance. Finally they reduce the impact of the bombs placed and catch him who is a former spy. He tells a secret about Taiyo's past. It is exciting to know what it is.

Taiyo Asano has managed to survive everything thrown at him so far. But his role as the husband of Mutsumi Yozakura and her chief protector keeps getting him involved with all sorts of problems. Hatoda, head of PoPoPPo Toy Company, is trying to win Mutsumi's hand. Then there is the government spy agency - Hinagiku - that wants him out of the way, but later has crazy need for Taiyo's assistance. Plenty of action and plenty of crazy situations makes this a fun title to read!

It's not engaging enough to be a drama, but it's not funny enough to be a comedy. This is where I'm dropping the series.

The anime might turn out better since, animated, you'll get the full impact of the action sequences.

Reseña manga: Misión Familia Yozakura, de Hitsuji Gondaira! (Tomo 3)
